Waraner Tree Experts did a fantastic job trimming the trees at my house. Besides normal pruning of a few trees around my property, they cut back huge redwoods to the fence-line that were dropping large amounts of debris on my roof and backyard. They did this all the way to the tops of the trees, which was exactly what was needed. They also did a great job cleaning up the mess! We used Waraner Tree Experts for years. Just in the past 2 weeks I was working with Kim to have our ancient weeping willow removed. Before we could finalize details the tree catastrophically fell. Called Kim urgently and she sent a "revised" estimate that is over $500 more than it was before!!! She claims it's because there's more work and a rootball...there's no rootball it came up and out when the tree fell. She claims it's more technical? Really??? How's that possible when no one has to climb it, it's safely on the ground not moving, easily accessible to our paved patio to the front gate? I sent her more than 10 pictures before the fall and 16 after. They cannot legitimately claim this is more work. Kim texted me Friday she'd be in touch today. Silence. They are price gouging due to the urgency. I've already found 3 companies willing to come out and help and who care. Too bad the vendor we've used for years can't help their clients when they need them they just want our money. Will never ever use Waraner Tree Experts again. read more

We recently used Waraner to remove two relatively large Monterrey pines from our backyard. Complicating the task was that the trees were located on a small hill. They gave us a very competitive bid. They did excellent work. They showed up on time and completed the task within the time frame that they gave me. They expertly cut down the trees, using a crane to carry the parts over our fence and into the street, where their chipper finished the job. They cleaned up afterwards, such that there was really nothing left other than two stumps. I would definitely use them in the future. I needed a 30 foot eucalyptus removed and couldn't get any of the companies recommended to me by friends to even come out to give a quote in less than 2 weeks. So I went online for reviews and found Waraner Tree Service on Yelp. The multiple Waraner Tree reviews were reassuring. Dustin came out almost immediately. Kim emailed, per my request, their quite adequate insurance coverage. The price relative to what I and my friends thought it would cost, was extremely competitive, including hauling off and stump removal. They accorded me a "Yelp Discount" .They were booked but I pleaded and they came the following Saturday. Everything which everybody had remarked on Yelp was true. They had every kind of truck and piece of equipment imaginable. They were on time, 8:00 AM. All their guys wore hard hats. Dustin came back periodically during the day, though his guys needed no help. Dustin agreed to throw in getting rid of a sizable, downed pine, if I would buy his guys drinks. When I was a little late with the drinks and snacks, I ended up eating one of their tamales. It was good! The work was done with every precaution for safety both to personnel and property. They would systematically attach ropes to to-be-cut limbs to prevent out of control falls. They cut in small pieces rather than larger which may have been tempting. And aside from the 10 o'clock snack and noon lunch, they worked without interruption. The main guy who scaled the tree and did the cutting obviously knew his stuff. All chain saws operated without a hitch. At the end, with only the trunk remaining, I was concerned that the trunk might possibly slide and damage an adjacent retaining wall once they "felled" it. I mentioned it to the head cutter. He assured me they had ample ropes to prevent that. He was entirely right! The trunk was so large in diameter that they decided not to dice it up. Rather this gigantic crane (its own vehicle) and still another big truck showed up and they lifted the trunk in three or four sections and got it out fast. There was some trouble with the stump grinder but after all of the expeditious work that had already transpired, I was more than willing to overlook a small delay, which incidentally they handled professionally: a true mechanic was on site within half an hour: he arrived with a "saddle-bags" pick-up truck that obviously connotes professional mechanics. So I consider I lucked out big time. Hope this helps. read more

Used Waraner a couple of days ago to remove a liquid amber tree (was too big for the area and was causing a walkway to crack), trim a couple of large Japanese Maple trees and a reshape guava tree. Waraner was professional and prompt. They came in a bit higher than other bids for our job, but correctly diagnosed a large oak as being a safety hazard and took the tree down within a week. I have heard of companies that do not throughly grind out the remaining stump, but Waraner's crew did a great job. Waraner returned and once again provided EXCELLENT TREE SERVICE! This is an expert tree company and are absolutely not just some folks chopping with some shiny equipment. I highly suggest their services! Kim/Dustin gave a very reasonable quote and confirmed a convenient time for two very large Bradford Ornamental Pear trees for crossed limbs, weight/hazard reduction and shaping/balancing. Their crew arrived on time and did not rush. In fact, they were very careful and took time to discuss a few issues and what they planned to accomplish. The crew picked up a branch and showed me how they would best reduce weight yet promote the health of the trees. I noted the equipment from the large truck, stump grinder and chipper/shredder unit to their hand-held equipment was in nice condition. They went to the backyard to inspect my redwood deck and laid large plywood panels upon the deck for protection - and warning cones/tape on the street. Also duly noted was that this crew enjoyed what they were doing. The trees look great - what a great difference! They cleaned up well and did no damage to vegetation or structures. Kim is efficient and organized in scheduling and confirming your appointments and Dustin is professional and thorough in his estimates. This is the second time we've had them do work for us and their crew is generally good. The one recommendation I have is for Dustin or Kim to have a follow-up call after the work is completed. I had a few issues I would have mentioned to them (after the first job was done a couple years ago) to improve their service, but it was not worth a call to them at that time. The Waraner crew showed up at 7:30 in the morning and by 5PM had removed 6 very tall Italian Cypress trees that were along the tight border with the neighbors yard. They also crown trimmed another large tree in the yard. They cleaned up everything extremely well and damaged none of the very close in shrubs / rose bushes / etc. It is quite unbelievable to watch how they go about their business. I recently used Waraner Tree Experts to have a Cork Oak tree trimmed in my backyard. Let me start by saying that this tree is monster huge and was very overgrown - it was hanging over my fences, branches that hung so low you could hit your head on them, it really monopolized the space in my backyard. I have been in my home for almost 6 years and when I moved in 6 years ago, the tree was already in need of trimming. I had an estimate done in July of 2013 and to be honest I thought the estimate of $595 was 'high' (I was wrong, it's not). I had zero experience in having a tree trimmed and didn't know what to expect as far as price and even the amount of work involved in trimming a tree, I just knew it needed to be done. I was finally able to take care of business this January and get the tree done, and I am so happy I did. I couldn't be more pleased with the quality of work that was done. 1) I called and left a message- Kim got right back to me and was able to schedule me within a week of me calling; 2) WTE honored my original estimate, which I thought was pretty cool because it was a 6 month old estimate (and I had lost my copy, they still had their copy); 3) The crew arrived at my house on time. They were very respectful and polite and they worked really fast. I had to leave in the middle of the trimming and left my 19 year old son in charge. He also commented on how polite the crew was to him. (I really appreciate that because I have to rely on my son to help out sometimes. It's nice to deal with people who are professional no matter if they are dealing with the lady of the house or the 2nd in charge); 4) Just having that tree trimmed totally cleaned up my backyard and really opened up the space in my yard. They even raked out my backyard and made that look better than before (another thing I really appreciated); 5) My tree looks AMAZING! The crew reshaped it and thinned it out.
