I really appreciated that level of accountability, so I decided to come back and give this place another try and I'm so glad I did. This time, I specifically asked for a different tech, and the experience was completely different. Holly was the main person who worked with me, and she was absolutely amazing. She was incredibly meticulous, patient, and really paid attention to every little detail. She spent almost 2 hours on my nails and made sure everything was done properly without rushing. Gil (I believe that's her name as I didn't catch it at the beginning) also helped during the process, which honestly made the whole experience feel even more attentive and pampering. Between the two of them, I felt really well taken care of. Holly even apologized at the beginning for my prior experience, even though it wasn't her fault at all, which I really appreciated. She constantly checked in to make sure I liked how my nails were turning out and was more than willing to fix even the smallest detail before I left. Also, underneath my gel pedicure polish, I can see blood on the sides under my nail. I am guessing the blood came out from her cutting too aggressively on the side of my toes. I was really disappointed with my recent visit to Avatar Nails. I made an appointment for a Gel-X…read moreremoval and asked if time allowed, a regular manicure (no gel polish). From start to finish, the entire appointment took only 35 minutes, and it felt extremely rushed. The Gel-X removal was done so quickly and roughly that I actually had to pull my hand away because it was painful. After that, the filing and shaping lacked attention to detail, and my nails were left uneven with different shapes. I asked for a pale pink polish, but the application was sloppy. Polish was left on my cuticles and skin, parts of several nails were missed entirely, and there was no cleanup with acetone afterward. Once the polish was applied, the nail technician placed a fan in front of me and spent the rest of the appointment cleaning nail art brushes while my nails dried. No one checked on how they were drying or whether I needed anything, and I eventually just got up to pay. What makes this especially disappointing is that I've been to Avatar Nails before for pedicures and my previous Gel-X set, and those experiences were excellent. I would have happily given them 5 stars. Unfortunately, this visit felt like quality and attention to detail were sacrificed, even though the salon wasn't busy. I hope this was just an off day, but based on this experience, I left feeling disappointed.
