I needed a new spot for a pedicure as my usual salon is closed on my day off. This seemed like one of the top consistently well reviewed spots near Danville, so I figured let's give it a shot! I was able to get an appointment within thirty minutes of calling. Mia did my gel pedicure-- She was neat and meticulous with my nails and the paint, but the craftsmanship came into play when she gave me a massage. I added on paraffin wax and a salt scrub; most salons rush the wax (which is my favorite part!). But, Mia put my feet into the paraffin wax, and then massaged my legs and feet with the salt scrub and other nice smelling products for over thirty minutes. It was a deep massage that helped my poor, abused feet. I left so relaxed that I was ready for a nap. There is ample parking right outside as the salon is located in a large shopping center. The price was more than affordable- I paid less than $70 in cash for a gel pedicure with two add ons. This was easily the best pedicure experience I have ever had. Thank you to Mia! read more

You can expect a good price for a good pedicure here! I was luckily able to get seated on a walk-in basis on a weekday afternoon, but it was still busier than I expected during the time I went (I'd recommend calling in or making a reservation). Staff was efficient, massage was nice. Parking is easy since it is located in a small plaza. My regular pedicure lasted about 3 weeks, though, which is shorter than other pedicures I've gotten. Pro tip: pay in cash for a little discount. read more

Have been here several times with my ex's sisters. Recently moved to the area and decided to come back after a few years and still the same great service! They are able to get you in for same day appointments and have loved everyone I have seen. Relaxing atmosphere and great service! read more

The woman who did my pedicure did a good job on my nails but it was a weird vibe. She said only a few words to me even though I knew she spoke English. Probably spoke three words to me over 45 minutes. On top of that, she just tapped my foot when she wanted me to move in a certain direction. Totally normal and ok, but paired with her refusal to even look me in the eyes ever it just like an unwelcome visit read more

My daughter decided to treat me to a mani-pedi for my birthday. They were able to squeeze us in late (thank you). Overall, great job on my toes! They really needed TLC and I was very impressed! Manicure was great but my nail polish is already coming off 3 days later (may have to invest in gel mani's). Definitely will come back, that was a nice experience! read more

Midweek afternoon appointment. Place was busy; almost all the seats were full. Warm inside but granted it was a warm spring day. Pedicure technician did a good job, but see for yourself how my acrylic gel set turned out. I paid for a manicure and set, and only got a set. Did not provide manicure service at all. I have been coming here for years. I stopped coming for awhile due to the pandemic but I started coming again when things started to open up. Having lived in the Tri Valley for over 15 yrs, I have tried many many nails salons. So far, this has been my go to in recent years. The salon is clean and they will try to fit you in on the same day unless they are super packed. I avoid the weekends and lunch hours during the week. Our new go to spot for our pedicures and manicures. We always call ahead before heading to the shop. They're always extremely friendly and spoil my daughter. I visited this salon 3 or 4 times, because of the reviews & a couple of my friends told me about their excellent service. This place is always busy. I figured they must be really good. Their prices are a tiny bit more expensive, but their work is excellent. The place is meticulously clean too. This means a lot to me. What really got to me was the daughter of the owner. She was my manicurist for a pink & white. When I ask her something she wouldn't look at me & quip something in Vietnamese to her coworkers. One time a lady was working on my pedicure while a different technician worked on my pink & white. I asked something about my pink & white. The daughter with an attitude quips something without looking up & the techs who were working on me smirked. Folks we're not fools. I asked "What did she say?" The techs said "Nothing" with a worried look in their eyes I said, "Well she obviously said something!!" Then I get the old "We understand better & are more comfortable in our language" I said, "You don't think your customers know your talking about them?" It's rude to speak another language when you have English speaking customers & you're able to speak English anyways. Of course, customers wonder if you're gossiping & complaining about them. It's RUDE. PERIOD!! There are many, many nail salons in this area. I happily searched until I found someone I really like. Plus, I pay & tip genoresly in cash. I'm a big tipper because I worked in the restaurant business all my life via my wonderful parents & family. English was a 2nd language with my family. They made sure that they spoke English in front of customers even though they spoke English with a very heavy accent. I have noticed some nail shops are getting better at speaking their native language amongst themselves & not in front of their customers. One time this lady sitting next to me at a nail salon in Castro Valley that I went to for years snapped, because the techs were talking like crazy in Vietnamese. She snapped, "What are you saying?? What are you speaking??? You all speak English. Don't you know it's rude to speak a language we don't understand!!! How do we know you're not taking about us?" I'm not that bold or as up front, but the techs got quiet & started speaking English. The salon was packed. The customers seemed relieved. Also, I don't think techs realized how fast & loud they speak. Which of course I understand. It's a fast pace business. I get groomed to feel better & hopefully look better. Getting groomed for me is a chance to actually relax. I don't have to pay to get insulted or pay to feel I've been insulted. read more

Was excited to finally try this place out after hearing good things but unfortunately my experience didn't live up to my expectations. I came in with grown out acrylics from a different salon and so I request a new set especially since I've had the set for a really long time. I kept repeating "full set full set" from making the appointment to sitting down. The technician proceeded to just do a fill but I didn't stop her because hey maybe the set is still good to just fill + she knows better than I. Everything was going good and I headed out. Upon inspection of my nails, it looks like a rushed job and you can still see my previous color and acrylics underneath the fill (see photos). I also wanted a new set to start of clean and fresh since my real nails have grown out and wanted a cut but now I don't feel fresh like I'd hope. Service was okay, nothing special but no complaints. Might increase rating in the future if I find myself at this salon again but for now I'll be sticking with my previous nail salon. read more

I've been coming here on and off for a year now and it seems that every now and then I get a botched nail job. However, today was the worst experience I've had so far. I got Michelle as my nail tech and I left with micro cuts all around my fingers from the filing; she was very rough. I asked to keep the shape (which was almond), yet she rounded most of them and none are even or smooth. Some even have weird shaping. Lengths are all over the place, so none match. I understand this isn't an easy job, but it felt like she didn't care or really focus on her client (it was a slow day too). For the cost, it was not worth it at all. I'm very disappointed. Giving 3 stars because I have had some lovely work done by a handful of their techs in the past. read more

Coming from SF it is hard to find a nail salon that lives up the quality I have grown accustomed to. I found it HERE! I have been an avid supporter since moving to Danville August 2020. They were super strict with covid guidelines. VERY clean and well maintained spa chairs. Barriers put up to make safe space between myself and the employees. They color choices are plentiful! I would like to see some design possibilities but its not a must what so ever. The girls are all great. I truly have never had a bad experience. There is one standout and that is ANN! Excellent service and great last-minute accommodation. I called a little bit after they opened on a Sunday morning and asked if they had availability for a gel pedicure, and they did. When I arrived, they immediately got me in a seat and started. The gel pedicure was fast and efficient. They accept cash tips, so bring cash to tip the technicians. Will be coming back here. I was in need of some pampering time and was looking forward to my mani & pedi. Unfortunately, this place didn't deliver. I made an appointment and arrived at the time of my appointment. When I checked in, the lady at the front went back to see who was available and came back but didn't say anything to me so I stood there awkwardly waiting for someone to tell me what was going to happen. Finally, a woman sets up shop at a chair and brought me over. She set me up nicely and gave me a pillow for my lap since I was wearing a skirt, very thoughtful. Before she started on my toes, I told her I had an ingrown toenail and asked her to file the nail down. She complied but then started to go to town on the side of the nail by trying to get the skin that was under the nail, on the side of the nail! It was so painful I finally told her to stop. The paint job on the toes were ok but the paint job on my fingernails were not ok. You can see where one coat was painted and the following coats didn't cover the same section so you can see the outlines. I may have gotten a bad nail technician (older lady) but I wasn't impressed with their service either so I won't be giving them another try. read more

Tips n Toes has pretty much everything you would want from a nail salon. It's clean, accessible and offers great service. I've never gotten a full treatment before but this is my go-to spot to get my gel manicures removed. It only costs $5! Flat. Each time, the process has taken about 10-15 minutes of meticulous service. They'll buff your nails, place a cotton ball soaked in acetone on each nail, wrap each finger in foil and then come back a few minutes later to buff off the remaining polish. They even offered to trim my nails for me. After that, they placed a nice sealer on my nails and let me know I could wash my hands at the sink. Boom. Easy and done. I loved that my nails were fairly smooth afterward. Way better than trying to do this at home. I'd recommend making an appointment. They get pretty busy. I had a 3 pm appointment on a Tuesday and didn't get taken care of until 3:30. I didn't mind too much. They were busy and that's just the way salons work. read more

I've been going to Tips n Toes for at least 5 years. Jeanne runs a comfortable, nicely styled and welcoming nail salon. She treats her techs well and knows her customers by name. All of the ladies working here are very sweet and skilled. The shop is always busy even at 9am when they first open, but I've never felt rushed by anyone doing my nails. They must have a lot of regular customers who book in advance, like I do, but I have seen walk-ins accommodated sometimes too. If you have a special occasion coming up, you can book a few weeks in advance which many shops won't do. You can book online which is a great convenience. During the pandemic this shop went far above the State protocol guidelines and it continues to be a safe and clean salon. Also, plenty of parking and they're open on Sunday. I had to leave my previous go to salon after they left me 3 cuts on different fingers. A couple months ago my coworker recommended me this salon. After coming here twice, I can honestly say this will be my new favorite salon. I came here a month ago for a new set and the manicurist who help me was so patient and gentle. And guess what? No cuts ! I came here again today for a fill and pedi and everyone was so nice . The lady who did my fill so was good ? Sorry I didn't catch her name. At one point the acrylic was giving me this burning feeling. I told her and she immediately sprayed alcohol to neutralize the feeling. She asked me periodically how my finger was doing. She was so kind. Defiantly going to be a regular here. The work is ready and they have plenty of selection. FYI: they don't do dip; which is fine bc dip can get too thick. Had to go from 4 to a 5! Found my sweet spot ( my go-to day & time). Jeannie is ever accommodating with my appointments but the place is a favorite among so many that it tends to be packed on most days I get in for mine.They are particular about the safety protocols so everyone is masked up. Ask for BB for your hands if you can't get to Ann or Leslie. BB is gentle on your hands and ever so patient especially if you are like me - catching up on your voicemails while she is trimming your nails down ! My toes could get used to Katie. She is quick, gentle , precise and possibly remembers every detail of the last pedicure experience you had with her. Well.... I've been here a couple times in the past and always had a great experience. This last time was a total fail though. My nail tech rushed through my mani/pedi, never put my sandals back on for me so I did myself and to top it off my nails chipped within two days of my mani- and I haven't even done anything! (Ie cleaning cooking, etc). I got my mani on Saturday afternoon and 4 of my nails already are chipping and flaking off. Pedi was good overall and hopefully will last longer than my mani. read more

They offer a variety or drinks and snack while you wait or during your service. The service is another level here. The care and detail to each client is catered to you. I got the pedicure gel. Don't think you gonna get the jets you get a wood pale with warm water perfect honestly and they throw in rose petals and you soak you feet in there. Note the chairs a bit deep to the floor so be careful. Service was done by Amanda, she is new but super sweet and the attention to detail the nail.. chef kiss! The best pedicure I have ever gotten done. Just know though they don't do any massages like most nail salons. They focus their specialty on your nail! Can't wait to go back for a manicure.

So I've been on a hunt for another salon nearby. I'm currently 33 weeks pregnant and have been longing to get my nails done and have some me time. I was seen with Zoey for signature gel mani & unexpectedly added on gel builder for it to last longer. When I first came in to the studio, she offered drinks and snacks :) Zoey was very sweet, welcoming, and kept checking in with me on the shape and size of my natural nails. She takes her time and I love that because I feel like I'm getting quality service and nothing rushed. My first visit was a bit pricey (since I had polish to remove) but that price for removal will not be charged at your next visit and with that, it's reasonable. Looking forward to coming back and trying out a pedicure next time! Will definitely be back.
