We ordered the vegetarian tacos and the chorizo verde tacos and both were so delicious. The seating was outside attached to a coffee shop.

Loved the chorizo breakfast tacos on corn tortillas! Service was very friendly. No gluten free waffles for those wondering.

After all that hard work, our family always ends up back at El Rodeo. It's our go-to spot and has been for years. The service is always great and the people working there are genuinely friendly and kind. It feels like a real family restaurant where they're happy you showed up. The bar is also a fantastic place to grab a drink or margarita, play a little video poker, and end up talking to half the locals in Bend. Somehow you go in for dinner and leave feeling like you attended a neighborhood reunion. The food is exactly what you want when you're craving Mexican: hot, good, and a lot of it. I have never once left there hungry or disappointed. Plates show up looking like they were designed for a lumberjack who skipped lunch. They recently remodeled the bar, which looks nice... but personally I believe Mexican restaurants should be built once in about 1987 and then left exactly the same forever. It's part of the charm. That said, the remodel won't stop me from going back regularly. Great people, great food, strong margaritas, and the kind of place that makes Bend feel like home. Five stars all day.

Pair it with an ice-cold draft beer in a frosty mug and you're set. The menu covers all the staples, and portions are generous without being over the top. Everything comes out hot, flavorful, and consistent, which is why it's a place people here keep coming back to year after year. The owner is super friendly and we have the same few servers every time who even Renee our go to orders. My parents love their Chile Rellano with green sauce. They also have one of the best happy hours in Bend -- great prices, plenty of options, and that friendly, familiar vibe that makes it feel like a neighborhood favorite.

There is a big difference. I went here with a few friends, and was immediately greeted by a kind hostess and a very attentive waitress. The restaurant appeared to be clean and there were quite a few people enjoying their meals. The restaurant was not overly crowded and was not too loud which made for good conversation at our table. When I picked up the menu, I immediately noticed the Yucatán style menu. This is important because it's not Mexico style cooking. Yukatán food is often more vibrant, with more spices, and more intense flavors. I got the Arrachera, which is a grilled skirt steak. It was wonderful. Perfectly spiced, and perfectly cooked. The rice was OK, but honestly I've never been a fan of Yucatán style rice, but the beans were not my favorite. For refried beans, they really did lack flavor and I felt like they were trying to make them taste better by the extra cheese they added to them. Of course the guacamole and the pico de gallo were perfect. All in all, this is a pretty good place. Again, it's just probably not what most people are used to when they think of Mexican food.

We have eaten here multiple times since going. We went in here with our two youngest children for our first time and start to finish the service was wonderful! As is most important with any Mexican restaurant you go to the chips and salsa need to be good and there's are. The chili relleno my wife had was very good. Chili rellenos are a dish we typically hinge our return on, we've been back. Its Light egg batter and plenty of queso fresco All topped with some of the best red sauce I've had in town. The enchilada I had on my combination plate was super good. Tortillas are thick and chewy and every bit of the food we had was delicious. Even the kiddos enjoyed the horchata, rice, and beans. They are pretty picky. I would encourage all of our community to get out and support this local family business!

Randy ordered the chile rellano and a cheese enchilada. The enchilada was filled with cheddar and no white cheeses and not much of it. The chile rellano was better but the crema didn't have much flavor. The filling of the rellano lacked flavor too so he added salsas and that helped. The beans were too thick and the rice was dry. I ordered grilled chicken tacos and they weren't good. Overcooked meat and no flavor. I added some salsa and that helped a bit. I'm sure it's an us thing. We are used to so much more flavor.

Review - Don Gabino's Mexican Restaurant - Bend Oregon - Delivery DoorDash…read more This review is based on a number of delivered meals from Don Gabino's. The orders have been delivered via DoorDash. This restaurant is very near my home. I mention this because the most noticeable thing in ordering delivery from there is that each time, the food has been cold. It is surprising to me that a burrito wrapped in foil would become cold so quickly. The other consistent trait with the food I've ordered from there is that the meat is consistently very salty. The food is neatly packaged. Outside of the saltiness, I've enjoyed the flavors of their food. Plus, I can take the foil off the burritos and heat them in the microwave. I've also had their carne asada plate. I was surprised that instead of sliced steak, it had small cubes of steak (the same as in their burritos). Discussing cost for Don Gabino's is a little complicated. Their costs in restaurant seem to be very reasonable. The cost via DoorDash is not. However, for my last order (today 10/01/2025), there was a discount. Carne Asada Burrito $16.25 Delivery Fee $0.00 Service Fee $0.81 Discount -$2.30 Dasher Tip $6.00 Total $20.76 This left the Carne Asada burrito at $13.95. There was a time I would have scoffed at a baseline burrito costing almost $14 but those days seem to have disappeared. The delivery from Don Gabino's is always fast. DoorDash routinely beats the estimated time of delivery when I order from there. In the end, this is an average burrito at what seems to now be the average burrito price in Bend. It will scratch the burrito itch. This is the Bend based Mexican restaurant I've ordered from the most often.
