Wide open space. Friendly. Catherine took good care of us. Nice beverage menu. Lots of affordable choices. We had the burger, which was really good. The Salmon BLT was not dripping with mayo, etc. (thank you) and the bread was toasted perfectly and not greasy. Well prepared. Side salad with house vinegerete was tasty and hearty. Very good dressings and croutons. Nice and appropriate amount of shredded cheese.

Came here for dinner, food was a little over price and it's a small portion I didn't think it was good it's just average. Service was good. Ambience it has a bar place this is my 2nd time here. If your in the area you come in and try the dessert walnut ball its absolutely delicious. Got it for the second time and it's really good.

My family and I were down in Pittsburgh for the weekend and saw the sign for this restaurant. We decided to give it a try and we were not disappointed. The service was good and the food came out relatively fast. The only concern I had was that they seated 5 of us at a round booth and we were practically squished. But overall, the food was good, service was great; I recommend.

The smash burger and fries were SOOO super yummy! I felt like I could've eaten that for a month straight! I'll definitely be going back for that combination again! The chili was the only thing I wasn't the biggest fan of. It has barely any meat in it, and was mostly and oily sauce with peppers, which tasted good, just needed more meat :) I'm definitely still going to go back another time and give the chili another try! The server was very polite and checked on us frequently which was nice. It was a cute space, very open and wasn't crowded when we went so it was even better!

Dirty martini w/ bleu cheese olives and a gin cucumber martini

It was a Saturday evening and we needed a night out to relax after a long week. We did not have a reservation and didn't need one, thankfully, as they had plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. They have a nice side porch that is covered and a huge front seating area. Our server was Maggie and she was delightful. She was attentive and efficient even after dropping some glasses that shattered on the floor. Cleanup on aisle one! She cleaned that up too. We had some martinis that were decent to start. I had a dirty martini with bleu cheese stuffed olives and T had a cucumber gin martini that was super refreshing. We both ordered the small filet mignons that were cooked according to our preferences and topped with a gorgonzola breadcrumb and butter mix that was good but, for my preference and tastes, took away from the actual flavor of the grilled filet. The filet was very tender and tasty. My only complaint was the baked potato that was super overcooked and sort of dense and gummy. The house salad with bleu cheese that also came with the filet was very fresh and enjoyable. We had a coupon for their famous dessert, the caramelized walnut ball, which was a super yummy way to end the meal. It was unusual with its caramel mix of walnuts and the ice cream was nice and creamy and cold with chocolate sauce and whipped cream to top it all off. Delish! hi

    Bad walking taco. Don't reccomend

After careful review the service was amazing! The server was very nice and was recommending us things on the menu. We started off with bread and hot honey chicken wings and both were good. The chicken was very large for only 8 dollars and the sweet bread and butter was that of a Texas Roadhouse. When we reached the main course we hit a roadblock... The cod sandwich was pretty basic, mashed potatoes lumpy like a paste and did not receive the condiments I asked for. My little brothers walking taco was the most disgusting thing to ever see the face of the earth. The meat felt old and was chewy, it was ground beef for the record. It was all cold and the cheese was not drippy but maybe even moldy and stretchy. Otherwise all the other food was great or none of the less basic.

I'm giving some grace on my review, as it was lunchtime on Father's Day... Overall, the place is alright. The biggest issue we had was the service it took 30 mins to get our NA drinks, and took 1hr 15min to get our appetizer. The meal then came 5 mins later. But like I mentioned, it was Father's Day, so I'm sure everyone was overwhelmed. The ambiance was great - we sat indoors, but the patio looked really nice too. I got the Mixed Grill, which consisted of Filet Mignon, Chicken, Shrimp, and Salmon with 2 sides, which I chose house salad and a baked potato. The food was about what you'd hope for. My wife got the California Eggs Benedict and loved it. Our toddler got the pizza, and her portions were comically large for a 3-year-old. She wasn't complaining We will be back for sure. I'm curious what this place is like on a normal day when they aren't slammed.

My wife and I went to the Walnut Grill in Wexford last night for dinner. I have to say I was very disappointed. First off it was super noisy and I could barely hear my wife talk. I decided to go to the Walnut Grill as I had gone to the Robinson branch about 5 years ago and the experience was totally great, Both the food and the service. My wife and I got there around 530 with no reservation and where seated immediatly. The server was very slow from the get go and only got worse. I believe she had to many tables and just did not do a good job at all. My wife and I ordered drinks and french onion soup's. The server finally came back to take our orders. I ordered a filet medium rare and a caesar salad and mashed potatoes. The steak was cooked ok and the salad was good as well. The steak was just ok nothing special at all. The french onion soup was not that good at all and not how I remembered it at all. The mashed potatoes where not good, Just had a bad taste to them. As a yelper when I checked in we where offered a free desert ball. I asked the server to bring it during the meal and I had to ask several times as she originally said the coupon was not good. She did finally bring it. I have to say the entire reason we went to there was that I had such a good experience in Robinson. Take my word for it not all branches of the Walnut Grill are the same. If I was you I would defiantly skip the Wexford location totally. You can be sure I will never go back to the Walnut Grill Wexford location. I had a hard time figuring out how many stars to leave I thought about one star but decided on 2 stars which I think is being generous. It has ben a while but if I was you I would try the Robinson location.

Examples of menu items are appetizers (e.g., shrimp cocktail and nachos), soups, salads, wings, burgers, flatbreads, entrees (e.g., pasta primavera, chicken, duck, pork chop, swordfish, and A-5 wagyu), desserts (e.g., limoncello and cheesecake), and drinks (e.g., mocktails, cocktails, wines, whiskeys, and beers). My husband and I have eaten here twice--once for lunch last year and once for dinner this year. Both times, we enjoyed the employees' service and the foods. Here are my ratings for what we ate: Passionfruit-Paloma Mocktail - 4 stars - sour. Spring Sangria - 4.5 stars - slightly fruity. Jumbo Pretzel - 5 stars - huge size with beer cheese and mustard sauce. French Onion Soup - 5 stars - This soup had a rich broth, onions, and cheese. Ybor Cuban sandwich - 4.5 stars - nicely crunchy toast with tasty pork, ham, and Swiss cheese and a side of crispy onion rings. Salmon - 5 stars - I ordered this entree both times. The salmon was perfectly cooked and came with flavorful farro grains, cherry tomatoes, and asparagus. Filet Mignon - 5 stars - This 8-ounce steak was cooked mid-rare as my husband prefers. It came with whipped potatoes and his choice of au poivre style (black pepper crusted with bourbon cream).

Owned by longtime locals John and Melanie Dober, it positions itself as a warm, community-focused spot blending upscale comfort food with a welcoming vibe--think handcrafted sandwiches, premium Black Angus steaks, fresh seafood, flatbreads, and daily specials, all with thoughtful wine and bourbon selections. We were excited for what promised to be a polished neighborhood gem, and in many ways, it delivered. The food was genuinely great and the clear highlight. Our dishes were flavorful, well-executed, and creative without being fussy--fresh ingredients shone through, portions were generous, and everything arrived hot and beautifully plated. It's easy to see why so many reviewers rave about the crab cakes, steaks, and chef specials; the kitchen clearly knows what it's doing. This is elevated American fare that feels special yet approachable, and we'd happily return just for the meals. That said, a few aspects fell short and left us feeling the overall experience wasn't quite as seamless as the food deserved. First and foremost, the billing transparency issue was disappointing. They add a 3% bank/credit card processing fee to the check (which adds up quickly on a family dinner), but this isn't disclosed on the menu, at the table, or in any obvious way during the ordering process. There's only a small sign posted outside the restaurant. We only noticed it when the bill arrived, and it felt like an afterthought rather than a clear policy. In an era where many restaurants are upfront about surcharges (or absorb them), this lack of disclosure came across as sneaky and detracted from the otherwise positive value perception. The atmosphere was another mixed bag. The space itself is attractive--soft lighting, comfortable seating, and that friendly "upscale brew pub" energy the owners aim for. However, it was noticeably noisy during our evening visit. Conversations required raised voices, especially as the dining room filled up, which made it hard to relax and enjoy the meal fully. OpenTable rates the noise as "moderate," but on our night it tipped louder than that, possibly due to the layout or lack of sufficient sound absorption. A bit more attention to acoustics could make a big difference. Service was mostly attentive and efficient, but the management interaction stood out in a negative way. When we politely mentioned the surprise fee at the end of the meal, the response was an apology that felt scripted and insincere--like it had been delivered many times before without real follow-through or ownership. It didn't leave us feeling heard or valued as guests. On a brighter note, the owners John and Melanie genuinely come across as lovely people. The restaurant has that personal, homegrown touch you can sense even when they're not physically present, and locals speak highly of them. They were absent during our nighttime visit, though, which is understandable for owners juggling a busy operation--but their warmth is missed when the front-of-house team is handling everything solo. In summary, Wexford Public excels where it matters most: the food is consistently excellent and worth the trip on its own. The family-owned charm and diverse menu make it a strong neighborhood choice for special occasions, casual dinners, or even happy hour in the cocktail bar. However, clearer communication about the credit card fee (ideally on the menu or bill upfront), better noise management, and more authentic handling of guest concerns would elevate it from very good to outstanding. We'll likely go back for the cuisine, but with tempered expectations on the finer details. If you're in the Wexford area and prioritize great American plates, it's still a solid recommendation--just check the small print before you pay.

Very cool looking building, and the outdoor seating near the water and the fire makes you feel like you're on vacation. The waiter was also super friendly and played along with our jokes. He strongly recommended the chimichurri chicken, so I ordered it. I like that there's a healthier part of the menu too, although with what I ordered, I wish there were more salad greens. It tasted excellent with the chimichurri sauce, but I wish it was less heavy on the rice. More lettuce greens and less rice, or even completely swapping the rice for a salad, would have made me like this a lot more. Maybe even just calling it or having the option for a chimichurri salad and making it a really robust salad with more greens and vegetables. The rice wasn't bad, just kind of an excessive portion and didn't really go with the meal. My friend really loved his burger, and the pulled pork sandwich was good. While I'm not usually a French fry person, theirs were good, and I would actually recommend serving the fries with the spicy cheese dip they serve with the soft pretzels to take it up a notch. That was an interesting choice for an appetizer. While I'm not really a beer person, I can say the beer they serve here is very smooth after trying a sip lol. We especially loved hanging out by the fire pit after, especially since it was a chilly night. There's just something so comforting about sitting by a fire.
