Every time I got to Barry's Pub, I have a great time! You can tell that the owner and staff really care about their business and customers. Their staff are wonderful! Leigh and Jennifer took fabulous care of us and were fun and friendly. The staff put a ton of work into decorating the entire place for holidays. Right now, it's a Christmas pop up bar and looks fantastic. My other favorite was their St. Patrick's Day pop up. This is a casual and friendly neighborhood dive bar but slightly elevated. An all-around great experience every time I go! I highly recommend Barry's Pub in the North Hills of Pittsburgh. read more

I've been here many times, and I have never been disappointed. Whether for happy hour with coworkers or drinks and dinner with friends, Barry's is always a great move! I've had wings, flatbread, cheese sticks, bbq chicken dip, and the chicken sandwich, and all have been fantastic. My understanding is North Park Lounge owns this place; thus food is on point. The floor-to-celling decorations around different holidays is next level. I mean they go all out, making Barry's just a fun place to be! I had all the intentions of taking pics of my food, but I was hungry, having a good time, and dug in without second thought! Part of NPL group, Barry's Pub is a neighborhood bar that is the perfect spot to stop. Local watering hole with great beers, cocktails and really good food! They have a Halloween pop up going on right now and are decked out head to tow in spooky BOOze bar attire. Fun themed cocktails and all the décor really get you in the spirit. Very friendly bartender. They do have a pool table and offer happy hour and host karaoke. Tons of TVs make this the perfect spot for watching football all weekend! read more

I went for Karaoke on a Thursday night. The place was packed to the gills! Service was outstanding even though the place was full. Drink prices were fair. Heated tent outside for smokers was on point. The Karaoke however, was disappointing. The dj was sitting in a booth in the middle of the restaurant. There is no sign-up sheet. You just have to yell loud. The volume level was unnecessary. My ears rang for several days afterwards. I highly recommend bringing earplugs if you dont want to damage your hearing. read more

We decided to come here based on an article on vistpittsburgh.com about local Christmas pop-up bars. We had never heard of Barry's and figured it may be one of the milder ones to start with being outside the city. Also, we went on a Thursday assuming it wouldn't be as busy as the weekends. Well, I cannot speak for the weekend crowd, but this place was packed at around 8 o'clock, and continued to pack in the people as the night went on. Upon entering we noticed an empty booth and snagged it! Only to be asked to vacate the table minutes later as it was reserved for the DJ for Karaoke. Unfortunately, there were no spots at the bar so a high top near the booth is where we landed. We were told they would be having themed Christmas cocktails, but they were not starting them for another week. We weren't having much luck, so we ordered some light domestic beers and viewed the menu. There were only two bartenders who also were serving tables and partaking in Karaoke as well. We decided to order some food. We ordered stuffed pretzels and a cheese flatbread. The stuffed pretzels make no mention of being deep fried in the description, yet they came out with a breading and deep fried. The description says "soft pretzel baked and generously stuffed with Colby Jack cheese and topped with kosher salt. Served with honey mustard for dipping." If these were baked, I don't know how they very much looked and tasted fried with a crunchy not soft exterior. They also tasted like they came out of a frozen bag and deep fried, not homemade as the description may lead you to believe. The flatbread was not much better. Also, very underwhelming reminding me of a cheap frozen flatbread toasted in the oven. The crust was still rather white. The food was a no go. The server was nice, and though very busy she did a pretty good job of staying on top of things. The decorations were great and gave me some ideas for some over-the-top holiday home décor. The Karaoke was just so loud. I couldn't hear anyone at my table, I couldn't even hear the people singing the songs sometimes because the music was blaring. A friend of mine ended up putting noise cancelling air pods in. Unfortunately, he had none to spare, and I was unprepared. I would come back for a beer or to watch a sports game on a non-Karaoke night, but I would make sure to eat elsewhere before. Atrocious service. Came here on a Friday evening around 530. At first our waitress was good but around 7p she just stopped coming to our table. We finally flagged her down and she said "oh yeah when it gets busy you have to come to us at the bar we don't come back to tables". Um what ?? It did seem like only 2 girls were servicing the entire place so kudos to them but it was very bizarre. We could have easily walked out without paying because it was that difficult to track her down to pay our tab. Mediocre bar food with minimal parking, probably won't come back. read more

My wife and I ended up meeting friends here after never having heard of the place. One of the friends we were meeting is named Barry so when we checked Yelp for a place to meet up, this place became the obvious choice. It definitely has a bit of a "locals" feel to it, but everybody was super welcoming and friendly. We spent several hours and enjoyed the entire stay, the bartender stayed on top of our drinks and was very friendly! The music was never too loud and the whole crowd was pretty comfortable. (I should add this was a Monday evening, so weekends may be different?). We didn't get food but we noticed people coming and going getting food and it all looked pretty decent and everybody seemed pleased after eating. Five stars! Simply not enough! The staff here is always on point and willing to be playful and have a fun time. Barry's is slowly becoming a staple in our friend groups social live's. It's always decorated very cute for holidays and they have fun themed nights to unlock your inner silly. The patrons are also very welcoming, friendly, and down for a good time. If you want to partake in some guilty pleasures, Barry's is the establishment for fried cheese balls and a night cap! Eric and the girls will take good care of you! read more

I just stopped by Barry's today to check out what you've done to the place since you took it over. Nothing, unless you count putting in a pool table as redecorating. Oh, wait, you moved the beer box too. Well, let's see what the food is like. I had something I've never seen before -- three cheese mix nukowaved in a dish with chicken and BBQ sauce and nacho chips. Could have been interesting, except it actually didn't taste like much. The cheese tasted like not very expensive cheese, the previously cooked chicken "dice" probably added up to about 3 ounces, and the chips didn't even have salt on them. The bottled BBQ sauce was pretty tasty in comparison. The whole thing was pretty tasteless, but I did eat it because it was too expensive to leave. I had two drinks, which at $4.95 each, were too expensive for a sad, sorry place like this one. read more
