This location has unprofessional under staffed service. I usually go to the location in Oceanside off Marron Rd near Kohls and never had issues but due the the previous Dr I had leaving they haven't hired a new one yet and the one On College Blvd under construction I chose to try this location. My first appointment had to be rescheduled which actually didn't get put in the system so on my way there they said I wasn't scheduled for that day. I was against rescheduled, I asked to email me the documents to do from home and for a reminder notice and never happened either. I called on my way to my appointment I hope was scheduled and they said they had to call me back but never did. I don't recommend this location. Pay more money and go to a professional facility and research reviews beforehand. Nobody at the front desk to greet or intake when I arrived. I literally called another private office and scheduled an appointment with them. Very disappointing. read more

My initial experience at this location was great. The staff was friendly, helpful and had the answers to all of my questions. My wife needed to pickup some items for work, and we were pretty specific. During that same visit, my wife began to look at contacts since she was running low on her supply. One of the staff mentioned a sale and said she could get her contacts for under $25. We had our optometrist fax a prescription over so we can order the next day. Once I arrived the following day (last sale day) I went to purchase the contacts and it was $35 saying "you can only save if you buy 2 or more boxes." BAH! WE specifically mentioned we only needed one the day before. The staff spent 15 minutes looking for the faxed over prescription, constantly saying "I know I saw a fax come through earlier..." but had no idea where it was. This was rather unimpressive. We bought them anyway because of the long wait and she only needs enough to last through January. Overall, I think they might have been having a bad day and what can you expect from WalMart? read more

I just moved to Oceanside and I was getting all new doctors. In my efforts in searching for a new optometrist, I checked out my health insurance website and simply put in my address and the Walmart Vision Center was the closest to me. I didn't want to travel far for an annual eye exam so the Walmart Vision Center was just fine. I was able to make an appointment over the phone easily and then had to reschedule my appointment over the phone, and easily as well. They sent me a text the day before to remind me of my appointment. Upon arrival, I had to fill out some initial paperwork and show my Eyemed/health insurance card. I was a little bit early and they took me right away. I was very excited because I'm very impatient when I have to wait, especially at a doctors appointment. I was escorted down the hallway into a back room and the assistant tested my eyes quickly. She told me the doctor would be right in. Moments later, Dr. George Bradford arrived and took me into another room farther down the hallway. We ran through a series of different eye tests, the basic ones. I had a few concerns that I addressed to him and he explained everything in detail. He told me there was nothing to be concerned about but if I didn't already have glasses he would recommend I get some. He also gave me a few samples of eyedrops which I always need because my eyes get extremely dry especially with all the travel I do. I was in and out in less than 45 minutes which I really appreciated. He left me with a prescription for new lenses, but I feel comfortable with the glasses I already have. If my eyes feel more strained I will take the recommendation and prescription and advance myself to a higher lens. Overall, the experience was fine and I'm glad I went. The only thing I would comment on is I didn't feel 100% comfortable walking down a long hallway and being placed in a room by myself. It felt a little bit odd, with no disrespect to anyone who works there, I would recommend maybe moving the room closer to the lobby and general area. My first visit there was great. Dr. Evans was wonderful and the front-office staff were friendly and efficient. On a return visit just now, they insisted I fill out complete New Patient paperwork, even though they see me in their system and nothing has changed. I'm not going to waste my time on that. It's absurd. And saying, "We ask everyone to do that" either indicates poor policy or idiots up front. I'll establish a relationship elsewhere where I might be treated as a valued client. read more

Worst place ever! I made my appointment here a few weeks ago for an eye dilation because I am getting Lasik surgery with NVISION Eye Center (whom they work with), so I wouldn't have to travel to La Jolla just for an eye dilation. A little backstory, our family has one vehicle and my husband works, so he has it all day. I have two young children, one with special needs and our schedule is very busy. So anyway, I came in for my appointment today. I filled out all of the forms, and was pre-screened. Then I waited patiently for the Doctor to show up. When he got there he was looking at my paperwork, and didn't seem to know what was going on. (That should have been my first clue that things would go downhill from there!) He looked at the orders and told me we might not be able to do that specific type of dilation here. Of course I was upset, and the Doctor said he would have an associate contact my eye surgeon to see if they had to have that specific dilation. As you can probably guess, NVISION stated they needed that specific dilation done. The Doctor came back to tell me that they couldn't do the dilation because they were "out of stock" on the drops. I then told him, "I made this appointment 2 weeks ago, why do you wait to tell me this now?" He then tried to turn it around on NVISION and say that they requested the basic dilation and then changed it last minute. So, I called my patient coordinator at NVISION and told her what they told me. She said that was not true, they always require that specific dilation for Lasik. In the meantime, the Doctor had me waiting for an associate to see if they could find a Walmart near me that had the dilation drops in stock so I could try to coordinate another appointment for the dilation. I eventually overhear the associates talking about how they called the other Oceanside Wal Mart and they were out of stock as well and the next location that could do it was somewhere near Orange County. I was so upset I had to leave. I called NVISION and they were in shock, they offered me an Uber and anytime tomorrow to do the dilation, but I told her I have a 2 yr old so I probably couldn't make it out without my husband having to miss work. She understood. I told her I would let her know. Soon after I get a call from a Wal Mart Vision associate named John, and he said they were able to find a Walmart near me that had the drops and acted like he was doing me a favor. Really? He then said "I don't know if they take your insurance though." I told him they are not billing my insurance, they are billing NVISION, which he should have known already, considering the fact their office has NVISION posters all over their lobby! I just hung up after that. These clowns do not know how to run an office or know what is going on, including their Doctor! So, instead of trying to get another appointment with another Wal Mart and run into the same level of incompetence, I rescheduled my son's therapy and my husband will now be late to work tomorrow because I am just going to go to NVISION La Jolla, where they actually know what they are doing and how to treat their patients! I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone! read more

Mary is awesome! She's so helpful, friendly, stylish, and exceptionally nice! Mary went above and beyond with helping me pick out my frames, figuring out my insurance coverage, and giving me my glasses when they were ready. She even made me a beautiful hair flower, since we both wear those. My only regret is not asking to friend her on social media. As with any vision center, you get pushy employees. I have insurance but after an eye exam with a friendly optometrist, an employee did not know what my insurance would charge then referred me to the store manager who informed me of a staggering over $300 for my prescription lenses. When I called later to cancel the order, she suddenly realized the real cost would be closer to $180 so I said yes, requesting the glasses would be shipped before I left for the summer. Needless to say my glasses have not arrived yet. Avoid this place. read more

Everyone has been very helpful at this place and things were explained in detail about everything that was going on. I took my two stepsons to get their annual eye exams one of them wears contacts so when I called I made his appt for contacts fitting as well. For some reason that wasn't annotated and we had to come back a second time for that. I was a little annoyed but everyone was so on point about everything else that I decided it to let it go. Once they had their prescription we walked over next door to get them new frames. They had a sale of 50%off on the second frame plus a military discount which was so helpful when both of them wear glasses and then contacts on top of that. The hours are good and the staff are usually quite friendly. My glasses came out as expected and the price was reasonable. There did exist some lack of communication between a different optometrist's office faxing them the prescription and this vision center ... that was frustrating and caused some delay. I called to see if my glasses were ready, but it turned out they had never been ordered. Once it was handled by a competent associate and the glasses were finally ordered, they arrived promptly and they called to let me know they had arrived. When it came time to pick them up, I felt like I received more attention to fitting elsewhere. My glasses feel a bit "tight." I'm hoping they'll either loosen up or I'll get used to them. read more

My first visit was okay. No one really helped me figure out how to get the contacts in. Just sort of whatever. My second visit was a whole different type lol my appt was 10:30 and I wasn't seen until 11:15. The doctor was amazing. But while i was waiting in the waiting room for an eternity I got to witness how the manager of that place treats and talks to her employees. It was completely repulsive. And then to turn around and try to compliment my purse. I watched her employee hold back tears. I came back a few days later for one of those glasses napkins.. apparently they don't come with it anymore. The manager was on her cell phone, looked at me and said "hold on" and went into the back office. I stood there for 10 minutes and she finally came out... sat on her chair and still ignored me. While her employees were stressing out trying to help 5 people. Basically stay away from cruella. She doesn't deserve the opportunity to lead people-- she's 100% rude. The vision store itself is alright, just watch they don't try to up-sell extra stuff or you might have a stroke when they ring you up. Don't think they do that great of a job sizing up for glasses. The biggest problem is the Eye Doctor located on sight. They are always in a hurry and act like you are going to rob the place. They are not friendly and more often than not, rude. I'm happy to spend my money elsewhere. Costco is cheaper anyway and insurance covers the cost of the exam. read more

It was my first time coming here after getting my contacts and glasses from Target and Costco. Overall I had a great experience. I was able to make my appointment for the following day. D.Robinson was was my O.D., I had to get an eye exam to refill my contacts, the exam was very easy and fast, no issues at all. She made sure before I left that I was comfortable with my contacts and that I was able to see without discomfort. She made sure to tell me to go back to her if I felt uncomfortable at any time. She was very friendly and I felt comfortable with her. When I got my Ray Bans from Target they never adjusted them for me and they always kept falling from my face. I was always busy and never went back to get them adjusted. D. Robinson noticed right away that my glasses did not fit properly, so she went and told the other staff if they could adjust them for me. Penny was very helpful and adjusted my glasses perfectly!! No more falling from my face!!! I felt that they really care about the customers. It was the best decision to come here!!! read more

Optometrist: I was a walk-in, and even though the optometrist was swamped with appointments, they took me anyway. The receptionist went out of her way to fit me in, and also help another girl in the waiting room with her insurance issue. I worked in medicine, and I know what a pain insurance verification can be. This gal was so friendly and helpful, she amazed me with her patience. The patient found out she was out-of-network, and chose to cancel her appointment. The receptionist was nothing but sweet and understanding. The staff really goes above and beyond to make sure your visit is nothing short of amazing. The doctor was so informative, and took her time to make sure I was happy with my prescription. She was helpful in saving me money anywhere I could--so unheard of when you visit an optometrist, these days! Usually, your head is spinning from the upsells, like Lasix, expensive contacts, pupil dilation, etc. Vision Center: The young man who helped me with my frames was just as friendly and helpful. While wandering around, waiting my turn, I noticed he and the other girls who worked in the frames/contacts department were nothing short of being patient with each customer they were working with. One lady's credit card was declined, and she was trying to find a way to pay for her visit. The gal helping her was very sweet and patient, and never made the woman feel badly about her dilemma. I overheard the young man who helped me tell his customer (who I believe was an acquaintance of his) that he hadn't eaten lunch yet, because they were so busy. He then commented, "It's all good. We're just really busy. I'll eat eventually." When he finally helped me, he was not in a hurry to rush me out of there. Instead, he pointed out a promotion they're running to save me even more money. He took the time to go over different options for lenses without trying to upsell anything. I really appreciate they carry generic-brand contacts by Equate, which I believe are manufactured by Bausch & Lomb. They have a really nice selection of frames, too. This location offers a huge selection of lenses for glasses, so you don't break the bank. The add-ons for frames can quickly become costly. They offer tons of different options for lens coating, etc. I've been seeing different optometrists for over 32 years (expensive independent practices to low cost box store practices) for my nearsightedness, and I've never been so completely impressed by an optometry staff like I was at this vision center. They ordered the wrong contacts for me numerous times, charged me for "follow up" visits just to get my prescription correct, even when they were the original doctor who wrote the original prescription. The problem I had was trying to find the no. to the Vision Ctr. I must have searched for over an hour on every search engine I could find and only could find the main no. listed for the store, which wouldn't have been bad if someone would have answered the phone. I called repeatedly to no avail so went in to write this review and finally, the no. came up. So they need to change their info. I did have a problem last yr when they talked me into buying a years supply of contacts with a coupon from the mfg which they were offering, I was to send in with the receipt for a 40 rebate. After several months I received my letter back in the mail with a stamp on it saying the offer had expired! I went back to the Vision Ctr and was told there was nothing they could do, i.e. too bad. So I wound up paying full price for the contacts, I won't use a rebate coupon again! you either never hear from them or they stiff you like they did me. read more
