The final product is acceptable, but the overall service experience was disappointing…read more I noticed an issue with the glasses immediately after pickup and returned the next day. At first, the staff refused to acknowledge any problem. Only after repeated follow-ups did they agree to send the glasses back to the factory and promised a two-week turnaround. After two weeks, there was no update. When I contacted them, they had no information and admitted that without my constant follow-up, the case would not have been handled. The issue was eventually fixed, which confirms my original concern was valid. Another thing is the lack of transparency during the purchase process. I was strongly recommended the most expensive lens-thinning option, and no alternative options were explained to me at the time, which led me to believe this was the only choice. My prescription is only 300 degrees, and later research showed that this level of thinning was unnecessary. The original lenses also showed no visible thinning, while the final product was clearly thinner. Acceptable final product, but poor communication, lack of transparency, and a service process that puts the burden on the customer.

About a year to maybe 18 months later, the blue color of my frames started to come off the bridge of the glasses (the part facing away from my face- very visible). There is now a big silver spot where the coloring is gone - which ruins the appearance of the glasses. I don't think I'm doing anything to have caused this and it hasn't happened with glasses in the past I bought other places. When I went back in to ask if there is anything that they can do - the response was very disappointing- defensive, acting like this is no big deal - just normal wear and tear. Both unsympathetic and unhelpful. The glasses were the most expensive pair I have ever purchased, even after subtracting the coverage from VSP. It would be nice if they stood behind their product a little. I will not return.

The two people there were friendly and helpful! They listened to what a wanted, and could immediately answer my questions about Transitions options (no sports version) and re-lensing existing WP frames (no.) They also didn't try to push me about finding frames when I was clear that I had a particular vibe I was going for. (YES, I will finally have heart shaped wireless pink tinted glasses!) It's been ONE DAY and I already have a shipping notice for the glasses I did order. I was in and out super quick. I just felt really *seen* by Warby Parker folks. So often when I shop for frames, I get pushback when I say, "Hey, I need PINK and CUTE, thank you!" but they absolutely did not do that -- even if it meant I only got one pair. That's WHY I go to WP Palo Alto for my quick/backup glasses.

Pros: It's an in-person show room. I got what I needed, which was to test the fit of the frames. Spacious storefront. Cons: Parking is rough downtown, all the time There was nearly nobody there. One person was servicing customers and was always diving into the back room, and wasn't the most proactive about assisting / recommending. A lot of models don't have all the color variations, so I wasn't able to test everything I was interested in. Still, it was good enough to assess comfort / fit. Pro tip: The frames all seem more narrow than I expected - I thought I was going to need narrow frames based on my experience at another optometrist but was surprised that most fit snugly on the sides of my face. Also all of them seemed to easily fit on low-bridge noses like mine, even without nose pads. Glad I came in and tested these out in person.

The small shop is packed with a fantastic selection of glasses and eyeglasses. Of course they also do eye exams and contact lenses as well with an active lifestyle and two toddlers. I have mishaps with my glasses frequently and they always work hard to see if they can warranty my lenses or frames or both when they break. I even had a situation in which my frames broke and were discontinued so I thought my relatively new lenses would be useless, but they were able to find another set of frames that match the specs exactly. If you want a great eye exam from a friendly doctor, call and ask for Dr. Bahn. If you already have a prescription, I need help finding glasses and ask for Wendy.

The office is huge, and they have great COVID protocols in place. They also have a really nice retail section for ordering your glasses (should you need them after your eye exam). The front office staff was great from making my appointment through check in. Everything ran on time which was nice. I really liked that all the forms and pre-check-in information was done online prior to the appointment itself. It made for a much more streamlined experience. Dr. Louie was very thorough in my examination. She explained everything along the way and added more details if I was interested. My primary concern was night vision and evening driving, and the pair of glasses I got for that have been amazing! She also confirmed my previous LASIK procedure was still holding up really well. Unlike other optometrists, they did not hold my prescription as extortion (yes, I've experienced this elsewhere). I received my prescription after my examination regardless whether I purchased my glasses there or not (I purchased two pairs there). For those who complain about the billing and charges, all I have to say is, just ask. While each and every single checkup and option may not be labeled, no one is trying to actively deceive you which some of these reviews imply. Also, glasses are clearly priced, and they will tell you exactly what your insurance covers and what it does not. I had a great experience at Mountain View optometry and highly recommend them.

Upon entering the building you are required to wear masks, which in 2025 is uncommon, but appreciated. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. After waiting for maybe one minute I was already called back for my exam. The doctor was very efficient and thorough. On my exam there was once concern the doctor had, so they actually had me retake one of the eye tests to double check. When I got to try on glasses the lady helping me, I don't remember her name, unfortunately, but she was very kind and helpful. After I decided on a pair the total came to $125. I was about to use my debit card but she asked me if I had an FSA account (which I totally forgot about). This actually saved me money and made a big difference. Overall, this office is a 5/5. I will definitely be a returning patient.

It has since moved to its current location and there are two additional optometrist who practice in the same building. Dr. Seger is efficient and answers all my questions and concerns. He has seen my kiddo but he wasn't a good fit. Dr. Webb was a better fit as she is more kid friendly and is very patient and worked with my kiddo to complete the eye exam. After their initial visit I have always booked my child with her. She makes my kiddo feel at ease and is able to complete the entire eye exam at every visit. They carry a good selection of frames. The prices range from $$-$$$$. The ladies helping you pick out frames do their best to recommend frames that fit your face. They will check inventory for different colors and styles to meet your needs and wants. My recent visit was in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. I scheduled my visit late August and was unable to schedule with Dr. Seger so I scheduled with Dr. Webb. I was emailed detailed instructions as to how my appointment would go. I called the front office to let them know I was in the parking lot. They screened me on the phone for COVID-19 symptoms. I was asked to come inside and my temperature was checked at the door. I noticed the front desk was covered in plexi glass to keep the receptionist safe. Once I was cleared they completed my initial eye procedures prior to the exam. The door held a sign before I entered that the machines had been sanitized. After I left the room the sign changed to unsanitized. I was taken to a room to wait for Dr. Webb. Dr. Webb entered and realized my mask was making my glasses foggy so she grabbed another mask for me to wear so I didn't have foggy glasses as I completed the first part of my eye exam. I appreciate that she finds way to make things work to complete the eye exam efficiently. I like her energy and enthusiasm! I completed my eye exam and met the front desk to complete my transaction. While scheduling my appointment the front desk was responsive. The visit was efficient and I never crossed path with another patient. Those looking for frames were seated more than 6 feet apart. The parking lot is spacious. The entrance is right away to your right and easy to miss. Slow down as you get closer to the office. Overall glad with the adjustments this optometry office has made during the current pandemic. Dr. Seger and Dr. Webb meet our optical needs.
