I went to the Walmart vision center because I was able to get an appointment quickly. Everywhere else had a long waiting period because of covid-19 restrictions. I have been wearing contacts lenses for over 13 years and this was by far my worst experience. The eye doctor, Dr. Thuc k. Nguyen, OD. informed me of the price of the eye exam and also informed me that there would be an extra charge if I had an astigmatism. Dr. Nguyen did my eye exam then informed me I had a astigmatism, I told him I have never been told that before but trusted him as he is a certified optometrists. I left the vision center with a new contact prescription on 3.31.21 and quickly realized I was unable to see clearly especially at night time. I made an appointment to go back on 4.7.21 and was told that due to the astigmatism in my eye, the contact lens was not adjusting correctly to my eye and my contact prescription would need to be changed from 2.50 to 2.75. Again, I trusted his recommendations. I left again and realized my vision was still off. I was still not seeing clearly. I made another appointment to go back on 4.24.21, at this point I was a little frustrated and when Dr. Nguyen suggested another excuse for why I was not seeing clearly, I asked for a regular contact lens and not an astigmatism lens. MAGICALLY, my vision was clear again!!! I did not have an astigmatism. Dr. Nguyen proceeded to blame this incident on the ophthalmic technician, stating that she did my autorefractor vision test incorrectly so my measurements were off. I was never refunded the extra money I paid for the astigmatism testing and quite frankly was exhausted after this entire ordeal. However I felt the need to speak up so that hopefully I can help someone else. Save yourself the trouble and do not go to this eye doctor. read more
