I used to go to Sterling Optical when it was in their last location. It had been years and I was way overdue for a new prescription so I made an appointment. This was the best eye doctor experience I have ever had. When I called to make the appointment I actually asked if the person who answered the phone was a real person because he was so friendly. And yes he was a real person who greeted me when I went for my appointment the next week and was equally as warm in person. The exam when smoothly. I highly recommend skipping the dilation and doing the photo option. I also wanted to try contacts for the first time. The dr was so patient and didn't rush me as I was trying to get them in and out of my eyes. I also got glasses which was a breeze. I would highly highly recommend them to anyone. read more

Horrible Customer Service! Waited over an hour for my appointment and still was not seen. I had to leave because I couldn't wait any longer... when I asked how much longer do you think the dr will be. The person ( who I don't even know their name) said "No". Really I'm in customer service and would get up out of my chair and go back and ask the Dr. The women was very argumentative with me when I told her I just wanted an exam no glasses. Please safe yourself the aggravation and hassle of dealing with this unprofessional, irresponsible and poor customer service so-called business. Ordered my daughter's glasses on April 10th and was told if would take a few days to get in. Followed up 2 weeks later and was told "the edger is busted and we will hopefully have the glasses done by the end of next week". Spoke with the "owner" Bill who doesn't seem to grasp how common sense works. He refused to give me a refund for the $467 I spent on the frames and lenses he has yet to provide. He claims its "Sterling" policy not to issue refunds, and that this is an outlier incident with the machine. Well, common sense would say you make an outlier exception to your bogus no refund policy and do what's right by the customer so that my child isnt without glasses for 3+ weeks. So, I will be going thru my credit card company for the refund. When I told him I'd be leaving a bad review, he accused me of threatening him!! I assured him that it wasnt a threat, but more a promise of good citizenship so other people dont fall victim to his poor business management skills. What a disappointment going here in the first place. **Additional comments: After my horrible experience with the owner, Moe called me to apologize for the way I was treated and to make the situation right. She said her motivation was to win back my business and turn the negative into a positive. She personally drove to another location to have my daughter's glasses finished that very day and gave me a pair of sunglasses without charge. If not for Moe's amazing customer service and genuine desire to help the situation, this store would be in a sad state of affairs. Sterling Optical in Exton is Awesome! Their customer service is always excellent! Very helpful without being overbearing, they are always clear and concise in their recommendations and always go above and beyond to help even with irregular requests. I just broke my frame temple before a big international trip tomorrow and they found a replacement part in the store (without having to order it) and repaired it while I waited (!) in 15 minutes! During the craziness with COVID-19, my son left his glasses at school. Sterling Exton was able to see him for an exam AND provide him with new glasses during the same visit. Terrible and inept. I had an exam and was given a contact lens prescription that was so off-base that it gave me a headache. (Perhaps she was wrong because she was rushing, as I was her last appointment on the day of my original appointment - how bad is that?) I returned to get re-checked and the doctor was literally arguing with me about how she did not think she was wrong, and didn't understand what happened. I left with a different prescription and as I sit here I literally can't see my phone screen. I purchased contact lenses already so I am out the money for them, but to make matters worse I ordered eyeglasses to the tune of over $300 with the original, incorrect prescription. I need to go to another doctor now and my insurance will not cover the expense. I am furious and the only recourse I have is to warn potential future patients to STAY AWAY. read more

My initial experience with Sterling was second to none. From pricing to product I could not be more pleased(unless they just were giving it away but that isn't an option). First, not to bury the lead, this office has the grinder on site which allows for quicker more efficient turn around time. Second, the sales staff was both patient and knowledgeable. Most importantly they were friendly...they smiled. Third, the prices were reasonable. I could have possibly saved 10 per cent online but that difference is more than made up by supporting local businesses and having the ability to deal face to face. Win/win baby!
