i had a 3pm appointment that i was checked in for at 3:06. it is now 3:33 and i have to reschedule my annual eye exam because i have work at 4pm and i figured one hour would be enough time to get this done. i was not taken back for pretesting or acknowledged while i was in the waiting area. i had to ask why it was taking so long and why the woman with the 3:15pm appointment went back before me.(she got there at 3:22) i am extremely frustrated that i have to reschedule MY appointment for their mistake. there better be compensation for this. i am furious read more

I purchased glasses in June of 2023, paying around $300 for the glasses. My glasses broke, the temple broke off right at the hinge leaving a small metal piece still attached to the hinge, so I thought it could be fixed. I went to the location where I purchased and the employee say the glasses can't be fixed. She continued to asked if I bought a 13 month warranty, I answered no. So in turned, she stated my cheapest option would be to buy a new frame and they would put my lens in it. Then she said since I purchased the last frame at 50% off, she could apply that discount to the new frame. I refused to paid more money for something that I already paid a decent amount for and should have lasted longer than a year!! I took back my broken glasses and left! I will never ever go back there again!! I'll make sure nobody I know goes there either! My previous glasses, that were purchased elsewhere and paid about the same amount for, lasted almost 9 years before I ran them over with the car. Let's start with the good: the front desk staff was friendly and it's conveniently located. Everything else: probably the worst experience I've ever had in a doctor's office. The tech (I overheard her say her name was Dina, though she didn't introduce herself) was rude and unprofessional in nearly every single interaction we had, and in the overheard conversations with other staff and patients. Given I was the second appointment, I can only assume she arrived at work pissed off and just stayed that way. There's no world where she should be doing customer service. I'd suggest loan sharking or back office work in the future. The telehealth setup is janky and slow, though it doesn't help that their equipment setup looks like it was setup by an 8 year old. IT Pro Tip: if you buy the cheapest possible usb hubs and cabling, then half-assedly tape it to the bottom of the table so it just dangles there you're gonna have issues with things disconnecting. Spend $50 and 30 minutes and do it properly, rather than berate your customers for possibly brushing against it after you tell them to pull their chair up under the table. Oh, and despite me being the 2nd appointment of the day, and arriving more than 15 minutes before my appointment time, they were still 15 minutes late seeing me. read more

Booked online for an eye exam as i have done for years. arrived at the scheduled time and then Pam at front desk was not really listening to my information I was giving her. She then proceeded to make phone calls to my previous insurance (do not know why since it was irrelevant). I then informed her my appt was scheduled for 9:20 am. It was almost 9:45 am. She informed me the prior telehealth appt was taking a bit longer. The prior patient should have been on time. Waiting for almost 45 minutes is unacceptable without being informed. Plus I was not told it was a teleheath appt. nor does it say when you schedule. Unacceptable in all areas! You have lost a loyal customer. Disrespectful to have someone wait for almost 45 minutes. Total waste of time and I will let others know. To have someone waiting when no one else is in the store is unacceptable. Respect peoples time. read more

Went in at the tail end of a snowstorm. The staff was helpful friendly and efficient.

Truly a horrible experience. Tech did not verify patient's name and DOB told the patient was a minor when not. Rude to patient during pre-scanning work. Would get angry with the patient if the patient did not know how to do a test yet refused to explain any procedures to the patient. After pre-scanning work by tech, she then says it is a telehealth visit and someone will remote in. NO WHERE in the scheduling says tele health. Then informed the person remoting in was a tech, NOT a DOC. Feels like a bait and switch. When tech asked about the procedure she became very defensive and told us she "was just a little person" and went to get the manager while she mumbled "I don't have time for this stuff" as she exited the room. She was rude, and appeared to have a grudge against my family. It was horrible to listen to her be so rude to my loved one. WILL NEVER GO BACK because of this one tech. read more

I just walked out. My bad experience started when I was being checked in and the assistant was doing the glaucoma test. He hit me in the face several times with the machine while trying to position it correctly. So off to a bad start. Twenty minutes after my exam was scheduled to start I was still waiting to be seen and was left in the waiting area. No acknowledgement that I was still sitting there. The doctor even walked past me several times and took another patient ahead of me. Apparently appointments mean nothing. I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

To start off, I booked an appointment online as I was told to do and I later received a call saying that appointment is not available and that I would have to try to make one online again. But it does not stop there. I arrived at my 3:20pm appointment and after I was checked in, I was not seen or talked to until nearly 4:00pm. I let them know I had another appointment to make but their concern was quite minimal. During this wait, I heard employees talking about what they were going to do this weekend instead of assisting customers. Once I was seen by the doctor (Telehealth doctor which I was not informed of), they then told me I had to wait again to order my contacts because they had not received my information yet. I then asked to be checked out because I was not waiting any longer and they preceded to tell me I could not check out until I ordered my contacts. I walked out without ordering anything from them. Their blatant disrespect for other people's time and energy is outrageous. I have been their customer for many years and they just lost me and my family. read more

After reading all of the negative reviews, I wasn't sure if I would go, but wife had a good experience years ago, so I gave it a shot. Went on a Saturday, and they were very busy, but they gave us ample time for me to find a good pair of frames that would not make me look like I change into my uniform in a phone booth. Found my frames, and sat down with Kristin who was friendly and knowledgeable. She printed what my insurance would cover, and explained my other options. She told me that the glasses would be ready in approx 10 days, but they texted and emailed me on Tuesday stating that the glasses were ready. Picked them up without any hassles at all and am in process of getting used to new prescription. I have no negative comments about this transaction and was very impressed with how they treated me as a customer. read more

I was at this location to select glasses the week of November 2, 2020. Largely due to the employee's lack of knowledge, I left without making a purchase. I had an appointment the week of November 8 at another optician and was unable to make a purchase because Visionworks has a hold on my insurance. Furthermore, they do not answer the phone. I was on hold for 20 minutes! I had to relinquish the appointment and drive over there to get my insurance issue fixed. Now it's another week for another appointment. I can't say enough good things about this Vision works location. I had purchased from another store in another state. We recently moved to the area and I broke my glasses. They were very helpful in getting them repaired with as little cost to me as possible. Yep, I had not opted for the protection plan. They worked with me to keep my costs down. I would give Exton Visionworks more stars if they weren't so understaffed. I continue to go to this location once every couple of years to update my script, because I really like the eye doctor as well as the staff. The eye doctor is very skilled and thorough, and I feel that I get a solid exam. The sale of the glasses is what I dread the most. While the associates are very knowledgeable and make great suggestions as to which frames look best on me, they are very understaffed and after they give me a few quick tips, I am on my own. I ALWAYS have to wait even longer to be waited on when I return a few weeks later to pick up my glasses. No matter what day or time I go in there, they are hugely understaffed, and forget about trying to get them to answer their phone during business hours. If I had to do it all over again, I'd start out somewhere else! read more

I needed a new pair of glasses and found a frame that I liked. Colleen helped me a did a very nice job. What I liked most about the visit was that she explained several lens options to me, with costs. I wear contact lenses normally, so the glasses are actually more of a back-up to the lenses. She recommended that I not take one of the coatings options as they were not my daily eye wear. Basically, I really didn't need it for my purposes. So I appreciated the fact that I was not just sold something that I probably didn't need. Dr. Kenny and Dr. Magnotta were also both helpful in giving me an exam earlier, and on this visit giving me information on personal experiences with frame manufacturers. read more

While the Doctor and her assistant were just lovely, there is an associate at this location that is absolutely one of the rudest, most unprofessional people I know... simply obnoxious. She was flat out nasty... to my face as well as to my back as I walked away... loud enough for other customers to see/hear. My experience with Visionworks in Exton has been nothing but positive. I first called for information on exam pricing in conjunction with my vision insurance. Dominique answered the phone and was very patient explaining the details to me. She offered to set up an appointment for me but also directed me to their online scheduling system if I wanted a bigger picture of all openings. I was able to get a same day appointment. When I arrived, Dominique was there to check me in, and the process was very smooth and efficient. The optometrist was very thorough and discussed my options due to my changing vision (apparently I am borderline for needing reading glasses even though I have always been near sighted). She fit me for both contacts and glasses and sent me back to Dominique to pick up the prescriptions for each. Since my vision insurance covers only glasses OR contacts, I chose contacts this time around. I had a specific budget and Dominique was very respectful of that. Never once did I feel pressured. She measured my pupillary distance in case I wish to order glasses online, gave me the boxes of contacts that were within my budget, and topped it off by giving me a free pair of non-prescription sunglasses, just in time for my trip to the beach next week. I will definitely revisit next year. 4 stars only because I haven't yet had the experience of shopping here for glasses. read more

First, I was left waiting and then they assisted another person who arrived after. Finally got to me picked out glasses, they took measurements and ordered. 1 week later when my glasses came in I went to pick them up, it was not busy in the store at the time but very little time was given to me to make sure my glasses were right. They felt crooked on my face (they did not offer a mirror so I could see) so I asked if they were straight and was told they were straight. When I got home the first thing my husband said was that my glasses were crooked, I checked and yes they were crooked. When I called the store the person who answered the phone was rude and did not offer to speak to the manager. I went back to have them adjusted and again was told they were not crooked, but that one of my eyebrows were higher than the other. I asked him to fix them and he said he would but they would be crooked. I have been wearing glasses for over 30 years and have never had a problem with crooked glasses. I wear them everyday and think I know when my glasses are crooked. No apologies!! The people at Visionworks in Exton, PA need to be a little more professional and not so concerned with selling glasses!! read more

Very disappointing experience. The staff there probably work on commission and hence seem to be more interested in ripping you off than recommending what's best for you. Case in point -- I picked out a frame that I liked but turned out that my prescription glasses would be too "thick" for the frame. When I went to pick up my glasses, I noticed this and wanted to select a new frame instead. Rather than let me pick a new frame, the salesperson insisted that they would figure out a way to "fix" the issue. Their fix it turns out, was to dispense a pair of glasses with a different prescription! (I know because I ordered two pairs and i can see better with the other pair). Despite my protests, they insisted that it's the same. IMO, It's just outright unadulterated greed to be playing around with someone's eyesight in order to make a few bucks. Would never ever buy from here again. read more

I was so extremely pleased with the customer service I received at Visionworks in Exton, PA. I was experiencing an emergency with my eyes and vision when I chose to go to Visionworks and I am so happy that I chose them! Dr. Magnotta was absolutely fabulous in treating me and helping to resolve the issue I was experiencing. After under her care for approximately 1 week, she referred me to an ophthamologist for additional care due to the severity of my eyes' condition. The day after I saw her and she made the referral, her staff called me to make sure I was able to get an appointment with the ophthamologist. (Which I was, the following day). Two days later, following my appointment with the ophthamologist, Dr. Magnotta personally called me to discuss my appointment and gather feedback! I have never received such personal care from any kind of doctor. The ophthamologist she referred me to was fabulous and resolved my issue and upon returning back to Dr. Magnotta for my follow-up, almost 7 weeks later, she remembered me and even additional information (not pertaining to my eyes) that we had discussed! Dr. Magnotta and the staff at Visionworks are wonderful and provide such a professional and personal experience! read more

Every time I come here I get the WORST customer service. I switched from pearl vision to visionworks due to pearl vision in exton shutting down. I dealt with Christie today trying to order more contacts and paying for my appointment. Not only did she literally yell across the entire store that "she has nothing insurance doesn't cover anything she has to pay everything out of pocket" to an older women with blonde hair to the right of her desk, but told me they didn't run my insurance to see what anything covered before i came in (not surprised this happened last time after i requested the cost) then she raised her voice and huffed and puffed because i wasn't understanding why my insurance wasn't covering this appointment. I then asked if she could make a phone call to my insurance to see what happened or if something changed. word for word she says "i'm not calling them. you can call them or your mom can. they're ganna tell me the same thing." WOWWWWW. unprofessional. mine as well of just told me to leave at that moment. So I personally made the phone call to my insurance company, they gladly and nicely and calmly explained to me what the difference with my new insurance was. easy! could of avoided all of this. i walk back in from my phone call and she says to a man that she doesn't want to deal with me and asked him if he could. He was very nice and assisted me in buying my contacts. I then turn around and Christie and a heavier set blonde haired older women was saying "Ms. (my last name)" and laughing, as i turned around she says to the man helping me, "i was just saying you were helping ms. (my last name) and christie was helping someone else." this isn't the first or even the second time this has happened it always happens, if something is wrong or there's an issue all i ask is that they're professional and accommodating and they never are. SO offended and disappointed by this "business". not to mention, my brother was JUST in and they told him something opposite with the insurance as well. If you ever need anything ONLY go to mark.
