I've been here multiple times and my interaction with some of the employees is increasingly theatrical each time--from tense misunderstandings over wheat bread to "Hey, is Mike on lunch?" Ma'am, I don't even work here. No joke. Oh, and don't get me started with the ladies that work in the return center. You will be in line for ages. Most of the items in the store are on the shelf. Note that I typed "on the shelf" but not "organized." Therefore, look at the price tags closely since items are not always in the right spots. If you see something you need and it's cheap, stock up because chances are, it won't always be on the shelf or it'll be back to regular price soon. There's an aisle near the office supplies area that has extra marked down products--hair products to Andes mint chips. It's not a Super Walmart but it does have multiple aisles for dry, frozen, and relatively fresh groceries. If what you're looking for is not at Shop Rite or Stop and Shop, you might find it here. As others have mentioned, there is plenty of parking but some still feel the need to park next to you even when you're 100 yards from the entrance. I'm not even exaggerating. I had a horrendous experience but Terrence made my life way easier. I had to go through hell and back with the customer service line and he saw my frustration and searched for my pick up package even after I left the location. If it wasn't for him I wouldn't ever order a Walmart pickup package again. So Walmart is not exactly the ideal shopping location for anything really, but they are often a necessary evil when trying to keep costs down. That being said, this location does not do much to help the brand's bad reputation. The facility is poorly stocked, the staff are rude, there are limited options available, most of the displays and consumer tools are inoperable, and calling the bathrooms filthy would be an understatement. However, as with all Walmarts though, the pricing usually tends to be the lowest around. This particular location is part of a large plaza so there is plenty of parking available. I have been to much better maintained and operated Walmarts so there's really no reason why this one can't step it up. read more

Walmart Needs to either hire more qualified people or train their employees. Whenever I go there, the place is up side down, staff doesn't know where items are and lines are extremely long. Yes, the prices are good, but for the extra few dollars I would prefer to shop elsewhere. Some wait is expected but this place is just out of control. I recently went to return/exchange some shorts. I was in the return line for 27 minutes. Then, after I located the correct shorts, I was in the checkout line for 16 minutes. This is way to much time just to save $3. I had to go to the other end of the store just to find help, which came 20 minutes later (I was able to move my bladder and bowels for Christ's sake). I try to avoid coming to this Walmart at all costs because some of the staff seems..."unprofessional" and the type of customers that come here can drive a person crazy. I came here recently to buy an item and it didn't seem too bad. I think it's best to shop here during off peak hours. It's a little more quiet and organized. I can't imagine coming here on a weekend. During covid19 you would think that they will watch how many ppl are in the store. They only did that maybe for the first month. The employees barely find anyone to assist. I had in store pick up and no signs designating where to get your in store pickup. Most normal people assuming its in the front with customer service and not at the back by the warehouse entrance. I try not to come here too often, but when I do I stock up! The prices are good for cleaning supplies, and other household goods; if you come early in the season they do have a good selection of seeds, bulbs and planters. So I cannot say that it's all that bad, but the store is always a mess. The clientele lives up to the Walmart name - trust me I've wanted to snap a few incognito pics and post to that "people of Walmart" page. They have a produce and fresh food section, but by no means is this a Super Walmart, I've been to the really nice ones in other states. This is meh. The lines are often long, I try to come midweek/midday that's when it's the most pleasant. It is in a plaza with a Home Depot, TJ Maxx and a Home Goods. There is plenty of parking, but guess what, apparently no one that visits this Walmart knows how to drive, nor do they know what a reverse light looks like - they just keep gingerly walking in front of reversing cars. The customer service is the worst!!! I received the email today saying my order was ready to pick up. With NO information about the time (I guess was until store close), and them I just drove there from my work, the pick up section was ON, and then the guy just said is until 8 pm. (What case have no information about this time on the website and on the email they sent to me)! This store always has something going on! I guess they should treating better the customers! If I could rate this Walmart with zero stars I would. Poor layout and empty shelves. Employees don't know where things are or don't move out of your way when trying to reach an item from the shelf they are blocking. Most employees seem to be in a trace like daze. We waited 35 minutes to check out at 1 PM on a weekday. They only had 2 registers open and excessively long lines. A supervisor paged 3 times for all cashiers to come to the front checkouts and no one came. Poor management and barely discernible customer service. Shop here at your peril. read more

As usual, Wal-Mart is always packed and there are never enough registers open! I ended up going through the self check out. Although the item that was scanned was put in the bag and nothing else, it said something else was in the bag. There was a cashier to help but there were about 6 check outs which made it had to get to everyone in a short amount of time. Luckily, I just removed the item and was able to continue. read more

I travel quite a bit for work and rely on Walmart to find an assortment of inexpensive food that I can pick up quickly. This Walmart didn't accomplish either or these. The lines to check out were all the way to the back of the store. Even with store personnel helping to direct people there wasn't any social distancing going on here. As for the food issue, there were many empty coolers and shelves. No salads. No Diet Coke. No fresh apples. This was a total waste of a shopping trip. read more

AVOID!!! yes, the prices are cheap but the staff is extremely unprofessional and rude. The store itself is disorganized and cluttered. The cashiers are always inappropriately talking across the register. The wait in lines is extremely long, they have so many registers, but less than half are open at a time. I think the management has to properly train their employees and put their foot down. A cashier had 2 inch nails on, was eating potato chips, ringing up my order, and talking to her co-worker at the same time! If I worked at Walmart I'd be upset and not want to help people either. We went to Walmart to buy a couple of fitbits. We couldn't just grab them and go we needed a staff member to remove them from the rack. Every person we asked for help said "just one sec" or "one minute " and never. came. back. Ok fine. There wasn't much to the box, it was plastic so I twisted and twisted the box until the little plastic hole and goes through the metal rack to hang broke off. In a previous review for a different Walmart, I put that no Walmart was worse than this one. Today I proved myself correct once again. I hate being forced to come here but I bought my hair dryer at this particular location and now it has stopped working. I need my hair dryer so in I went to wait in a long line of one person (me). I mean it's 7am and the lady was moving like she ate a snail for breakfast. Anyway, I didn't have my receipt for the dryer and when I told her that she huffed and puffed and did all this extra stuff...LADY JUST GIVE ME MY STORE CREDIT SO I CAN GET OUT OF HERE!!!..she gave me the store credit and then I asked her if they had any more in the store. Horrible just Horrible! Now I know why this store is hidden on rt 22. It because the employees all stink! They have no customer service skills at all. We had a bad experience with the online delivery to the store. The lady at the pick up desk was rolling her eyes the whole time she was helping us. She was complaining to another coworker about How she wants to go home and doesn't want to be there. Well guess What?! Neither do we.! So the lady said " listen 2 of your items are only here" we had ordered 3. When we asked about What happened to the other one she said. "Idk call Walmart. Com. I can't not help you here about that. When we asked for her to elaborate on that she flipped and said "listen I already told you that it is not here right now do you see it?. Another customer in back of us said "this service stinks ". Union, NJ Walmart should be ashamed of their customer services department. I couldn't work or walk that slowly in my sleep. The employees could care less if someone dropped dead in line.The store purposely staffs just two people for returns and the lines are always immeasurably long (next time I will post a picture), often 12-15 people deep. This discourages people from making returns, especially for small items. All done on purpose. I let corporate customer service know but they're across the country and have no eyes in the store. I have been to other Walmarts in higher socioeconomic areas and customers there are not mistreated as they are in the Union, NJ store. It's a sad commentary on today's social environment. About this Wal-Mart in Union for me I've been there all in my life when it first open up in about a few years ago. Now to me when I've seen about so many negative reviews about this Wal-Mart in Union well I just going to have to it myself instead. Now my friend told me that this disabled worker works at Wal-Mart saying "Welcome to Wal-Mart!" which is a good thing because I do love people that has a special needs. And now at the food department you have some of the produce all flying & not with them in where it belong. And some of the other foods they didn't put it back where they belong! But I always tried to go to the music/movies department, and also the book department because I'm always into the music/books & also the new releases at this moment. read more

I really try to avoid this Walmart but was looking for an inexpensive food processor, which I really didn't find anyway.
