I recently bought a battery at one of your stores about a year ago. But battery has gone bad and had it tested 3 times prior to even calling Walmart. Battery is on a 5yr warranty, again its been a year. So I call my closest Walmart and the gentleman tells me there is nothing he can do, tells me to call the company (Walmart's battery) and they will send me a new one. So I start calling the company and find that I don't have to. I find that I can exchange the battery at Walmart because it is under warranty. So I call the gentleman back and explain that it is still under warranty (again) and that he needs to honor that and the fact that it IS a Walmart battery. He then tells me I have to take it to the Walmart I purchased it from, even when I tried to tell him to look up serial number on battery, He stated that he was unable to do so and that "his hands were tied". At that point I realized he simply did not want to help regardless of what he was supposed to do. I then ask him for his name and he hangs up on me. Now I decide to call the original Walmart I had purchased the battery from and try to get info. I was told that I can return it to ANY Walmart and that it is under warranty and they were even able to check serial number over the phone. Completely opposite of what the other Walmart told me. Walmart (A on Sprague in Spokane) wanted nothing to do with helping, Walmart (B in Northside In Spokane) was helpful at first. So I decide to not have a unnecessary problem with the first Walmart and drive further to Walmart B to avoid any problems because all I wanted was my battery THAT I PAID FOR FIXED. I get out there and the exchange went just fine. They tested the battery and was determined that it was indeed a bad battery and because it was still under warranty they immediately grabbed a new one of the shelf and exchanged it. Get my new battery put in cart (have cracked rib so cant really carry) and I'm on my way out. Upon leaving I'm asked to show my receipt. Now, I never show my receipt because of an incident a few years ago where an employee threated to chase me out of the store and take me down if I didn't show it. Since then I don't show it to anyone unless I am at COSTCO. So he asked for my receipt and I shake my head and keep walking. He then blocks the exit of the store and holds my cart. I say I want to LEAVE. So I pick my battery up out of cart (rib killing me now) and this guy grabs my hand and battery. I immediately threw my hands in the up (yes with battery) because at this point this guy has already stopped and kept me from leaving the store, and now has put his hands on my person and property. At that point I only could think about getting out of the bad situation. I hear over his radio and loud speaker to "let him go". Finally I am aloud to leave the store. Carried my battery out to car and left & realized I hurt my rib or made worse...I make it back home and decide to make a complaint, apparently Manager wasn't there and I had to speak with an assistant. It was quick explanation and explained I NEED to speak with a manager ASAP still. I get a call back a few hours later from another assistant asking for more info. I explain more and answer all of the questions (what I was wearing, Time of, what entrance). Then she asks "what my daughter was wearing", I state I never said I was with a daughter. She then states that I said I went through food entrance, and I did not. I explained 4 times the same things and she kept trying to change the story. She stated that it is Walmart's policy to ask for receipt for any unbagged items. I explained that it is not there policy to assault and unlawfully detain a customer. I finally explained that I record all calls going in or out on my phone and can simply play it back to her. She then hung up on me. .......So here we are. All I wanted was my battery THAT I PAID FOR. And in that process I was lied to, hung up on by both stores, held against my will, and assaulted. ALL FOR A BATTERY I PAID FOR. I was also was polite through out the whole process at every point weather on the phone or in person regardless of what was being told to me or what was happening. I am going to post all conversations of this experience via social media to prove just how bad it really was. Since Walmart does not care to rectify this, I will let others know how it really is. I also am going to bring charges for unlawful imprisonment and assault. Yes my rib still hurts and still recovering. This incident took place on 06/08/18 at 09:44 am at 9212 N Colton St Spokane WA 99218 Manager I have not been able to talk to is Robert Johnson. read more
