2 register ladies, 1 desperate, paid customer stealing mammoth amounts of time from the off-blonde cashier enabling the odd customer in conversation & 3 customers waiting in line with the anxiety of naturally perceived abuse in these 2 guys ahead of me having been pseudo-liberal- whipped over time waiting their turn for the therapy sessions they both told me seem to never end at the register ~ was cool fodor for insightful gags while i waited behind them.
Great, yet sorrowful banter. When it got ugly (just as they warned me), causing the 3 of us to endure very unnature periods of wait after the sale in front of us was done and we waited more through this meaningless (in regards to making a lineup wait longer and longer and then even longer) I spoke up and almost matched my curiosity to the intensity of cashiers hostility displayed to the lineup of people forced to be audience for the unreasonable delay I asked "would we be able to move the line?"
It wasn't received well, as you would imagine with the actors in play. The 2 ladies at the register and the lady pretending to be oblivious having held up a line, went into expected victim role and consequential retaliation. There was to be no one asserting themselves in this store .. at any time.. as far as they were concerned. So the exercise in pathology continued..
I'm not saying that there's no place for cordialness or neighborliness in any conversation. But if it extends 15/ 20 seconds ..or even a minute after the sale is done,.. or even 2 minutes(!) might be inspiring to some of us in the lineup, its completely tolerable to a patient guy like me, but this charade crossed the line of 3 minutes with transaction ended already before I realized this is beyond pathological. Its control and hostility directed outside the pretense of "being Kind and Helpful" to a single customer who desires to ignore the lineup behind her that shes holding up. Well, the two involved at this register being serious contenders for "Axis 2 cluster traits". A match made in heaven. (In fact, perhaps they thought they would bore the lineup right out of the store to buy themselves an opportunity to swap phone number's). So, my truth in support of average consumers was met with the pathology expected and i was cancelled and asked to just leave. Cashiers at the center for misguided "therapy" got power! I was happy to reciprocate making my (our shared) point on my way out. Realistically and, aside from from the humorous, sufferin guys ahead of me, it's just no way to honor your guests. From the lack of generative skills, these girls shouldnt be in a position to manage average traffic. Particularily with bent social politics and a lack of conscientious perspective for their effect on a growing line up. read more
