Am I the only one that has noticed that other than a large selection of varied items for really low prices, Walmart doesn't have much else going for them. I mean you pull up and after several minutes in traffic and fighting with other potential shoppers for that one single spot close to the front, you finally give up and park in the rest of the vast yet largely empty parking lot. Defeated before even entering the doors. Then you get inside and can't find a single shopping cart. When you finally do you head down thru the grocery section first and grab what they have that you can use while realizing that their selection is nowhere near that of a "real" grocery store and that you will still have to make another stop after to grab the things you just can't get at Walmart. Then you head off into the rest of the store looking for whatever else you might need that's priced lower here than anywhere else. God forbid you need help finding something because the only sure bet here is that their team members will have no idea where to find it either. You are usually better off to just ask another shopper. I mean who hires these people? When you finally make it up to the check outs of course there is a long line caused by some clerk scanning items at a rate of about one per every 30 seconds and then delicately bagging each item like it's made of some high explosive. Needless to say, Walmart has become a necessary evil due largely to there good prices and well placed locations. So yeah, I shop here. Am I proud of it? No I am not. read more

This Wal-Mart had a VERY low supply of beer. I know, why am I there for just beer? I wasn't, I think I needed shampoo, or something, but also on the list was beer. It wasn't that they had a low variety or selection of beer, literally, when I went there were 2 available cases of beer?! What the hell? How does that happen? So, I switch it up. This store Don't patronize the Sonora store if you value your health! This store Manager will not enforce California law. He says that it's up to the customer to wear a mask, when in reality it's the stores responsibility to keep customers safe. The Turlock store is enforcing the law by escorting people without masks out. I won't be back in this store until they do enforce State law I recommend everyone to do same read more

This Walmart is terrible!!! The staff sent me in circles looking a single product! I wouldn't recommend shopping here.

I just have to say, I do shop at Walmart on a weekly basis, but I am changing my way of shopping, I only buy essentials there. The produce is not good to buy, it rots too quickly, They lock down mens socks, and underwear, Batteries, Makeup, Paint, in other words half of the store is locked down because of shoplifters. I totally understand the lock down, but not to have the staff to unlock the cabinets for purchase is stupid. I encountered the checker superviser (who was a Nasty rude person) when I tried to buy batteries (which of course were locked up). She was so Rude that I have decided to buy my batteries elsewhere or online. More and More I can't justify going to Walmart for anything, the main staff are Rude and are not helpful. I don't want Walmart to leave the area, but Really? Be nice to people, don't lump everyone into the same bucket as a Thief. Kindness goes a long way. read more

Placed an online order for the large cans of cat food. I received an email they would be substituted for the small cans. Not what I wanted so i wasn't going to pick up. Imagine my shock when I got an email it was picked up!!! How can that be? No receipt, no id because it was me..check your orders people if you didn't pick up. I am standing in line right now. At 5:25 on a weekday, they have only three checkers working. There are over 80 people in line and no other lanes open. The lien for the self checkout area is at least 20 people deep. This Walmart seriously needs new management. read more

As a Walmart customer, I seriously hate shopping at this store. Shelves are messy, find lots of damage products on shelves which should be removed, produce sections are awful(find nats and flies) and rotten fruits and veggies on bottom of fresh products, store at times is messy, and lines are super long at regular check stands due to only 2-3 checkers available. Oh did I forget to mentioned, self checkout sometime only accept cards only(no cash) which there are customers who want to pay cash but are stuck and have to wait in huge line at regular check stand. Waiting in ridiculously long lines (especially pharmacy and customer service) and then to wait in another line at the door for the "receipt checker" is a total waste of my time and Walmart's money. The receipt checker doesn't check bagged contents against the receipt. How does this help with loss prevention? Walmart isn't Costco by a long shot. Costco savings are worth the inconvenience of receipt checking. Walmart is not. read more

This is the absolute WORST Walmart I have everrrr been to. Went here once, had a horrible experience, swore I would never return. Had an emergency today... needed something in a pinch and decided to run to this location on my lunch break. That was stupid of me. First of all.. where are all the employees? No checkers, long ass lines... everyone is in the self check line because they can do a better job than the employees there. I had to get a pet carrier... stood in a "short line" for almost 40 minutes. When I get to my turn, I see the pet carrier is damaged. I ask the checker if I can go grab a different one because the one I had was damaged. She tells me to take the crate to the customer service line, they will take it and let me go grab another one. Sooo, I stand in another obnoxiously long line with one slow ass employee working like she had all the time in the world. I finally get to my turn, explain to her the crate is damaged and I was told to bring it there and go grab a new one. She tells me, she will have to give me a REFUND and I will have to go BUY it again!!!! WTF?!? I just stood in the stupid line for days and she wants me to stand in it again? It's a simple exchange of their defective product! She tells me it's the only way. I was so frustrated, I grabbed my raggedy, dented up piece of crap crate and just left. Thank you Walmart Sonora for your sorry ass customer service and raggedy merchandise, I will never shop your store again. Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere. read more

I love love their grocery pickup service! Easy peasy. I have not step foot in Wal mart for a month. Just go on line pick out my groceries, pay, set my time and day for pickup and send the husband down. There is a number posted to call and they come out with your groceries bagged and ready to go. Last order of 18 items they messed up two. That's ok if I picked up the groceries I would have caught it. I ordered chopped walnuts and got pieces and halves and ordered 30 calorie almond milk and got 90 calorie. Realley like this service! read more

The Sonora Walmart is actually a traditional store lacking a lot of the new Supercenter or Supercenter Lite options most people expect. This store is really focused on the traditional general store options without much grocery. The store is easy to see from Highway 108, but you have to turn a few times to access the store on Sanguinetti Road. Overall, this is one of the few options in the region for cheap stuff. If you are on vacation or a local, you will probably stop here often for those daily necessities. The layout is complicated and may take a while to find your items. This is an older store, not necessarily in bad condition, but not as modern as other Walmarts. It is not the best store in the region, but it is still useful. read more

Walmart is our daily shopping center. Cheap, and affordable. But there isn't the best staff there. One time, we were trying to go get some things in the back of the store. We obviously had a cart, but we were stopped for about one minute watching a employee talk to another employee. Not even noticing that we were standing right in front of her waiting for her to mover her big "restocking cart". Finally she looked at us and said "oh sorry, didn't notice you"! The bathrooms smell disgusting. Like why can't you just air freshen the dang bathrooms!!?? There is never enough cashiers at the cash registers, and you might have to wait for 30 minutes at the longest. Even one time, I was rushing past grocery aisles and suddenly saw a man stealing! Like WHAT!? It was a man in a camp jacket, shorts, hat, and a beard. It looks like he was shoving Reese's bars in his pokers. read more

So like everyone else growing up in Sonora, I thought WalMart was the place to be. This was prior to the building of lots of the stores and restaurants they have now and LONG before the gigantic movie theater which is now across the parking lot from WalMart. It's so funny how things can change in such a short time. I still enjoy wandering around the garden center even when I don't need anything. Who's buying all those plants? Who has time to care for plants? Although I do prefer the concept of patronizing small businesses over large establishments like WalMart, it's still the place I go for many essentials. I get my mascara, face wash, car accessories, antifreeze and other stuff like this there. Let's face it, they have the lowest prices for us consumers because they are buying it in such large quantities. This is even true in their pharmacy. This WalMart has fluctuated in its level of cleanliness and how well stocked it is. Currently it's looking pretty good but maybe that's just because the economy is bad and they aren't selling anything so everything stays on the shelf making them look well stocked. THIS REVIEW CONCERNS THE AUTO CENTER! BUYER BEWARE!!!! I brought my car here to get the oil changed and asked them to please top up my fluids. I left and shortly after, my car broke down on the side of the freeway with a large amount black smoke coming out of it! My car almost completely blew up! I had it towed to my mechanic who checked it over and told me that someone had put manual transmission fluid in my car. My car is an automatic. This was clearly done on purpose. I will be going back to file an official complaint with the store manager and giving the name of the employee to them. The last time my car had been worked on before this happened was 2015. A lady came up to the register and asked if she "can get some help opening a cabinet in cosmetics"? She said firmly "I've been waiting for someone but nobody came". The assistant managers response was: "I COULD USE A LITTLE LESS ATTITUDE FROM YOU MISS, I'LL HELP YOU, BUT IF YOU KEEP THE ATTIUTUDE YOU WON'T BELIEVE HOW SLOW I'LL MAKE IT OVER THERE"! I waited for someone to come and unlock for a $2 pumice bar, nobody did. I believe "attitude" starts at the top and works down in any workplace. the question arises- Does the dislike for your job outweigh the ability of just being nice to others, for many working here it does. Their is a red haired young guy who is as nice as they come, so, it's hit and miss. He says hello to anyone passing by, other staff look away from you. The AutoCenter here is the worst. A guy set me up for an appointment and told me I could go over to Lowe's and drop the keys off. When we arrived and I went to drop my keys off the mechanic told me I would have to make a new appointment and that it would be a wait. This was after I was told this would be okay, none of the guys had any idea what was going on. Completely disorganized and very unprofessional. Wal Mart is one of those stores like Starbucks that everyone seems to have strong opinions and at the same time is popular among locals and tourist. I have always used 1 hour photo, the Sonora store has great electronic department, I like the departments of hardware, garden and I filled my last prescription at Wal Mart Pharmacy and was shocked when my bill was $4.00. I also find that its convenient 7 day's per week of having the knowledge that my car can be serviced and especially on Sunday's. I know of many people who are local and are employed by Wal Mart and overall have found the employee's to be friendly and offering good service. Like many people, I also shop at a variety of merchants. It is my understanding that the local store may expand to more food items in the next year. read more

Man, where do I begin? It's WalMart. I come here mostly because it's cheaper than anywhere else in the county for just about everything. After it became the Supercenter style store, the amount of people inside shopping probably doubled. It's always crowded and busy, but it's open 24/7, so there's always a chance to get in should you need something. The self check out option was a very nice addition for the times you grab just a couple of items. I feel like the lines are the check stands have not been as bad as they used to be, and seeing how many people are working at any given hour, I would hope that it's not so bad. I feel like I still find a lot of holes on the shelves where things haven't been ordered or filled in a while. Which is slightly annoying, but not the end of the world. Overall, you get what you're willing to pay for, and cheap prices mean you get to see a lot of Sonora's finest. read more
