I believe his name is Jeff (he's short) If you call, they NEVER answer... when you ask to speak to the manager, he literally hides from you! The employees look miserable & when you voice your concern, they say, "we've been getting a ton of complains about him!" Corporate clearly doesn't care who they put in charge. I always know if I need an esoteric ingredient or the freshest vegetables and produce , Savemart rarely disappoints. I also take part in Instacart delivery services and Savemart honors in -store pricing. The lone negative about grocery shopping these days is proper maximizing of the dollars. That being said, Savemart could come down some on their original pricing-off the top. Comparatively though.... Infinitely best choice for all round grocery shopping. read more

Worst customer service in the deli on 2/23 at 11:55a. Two gals one with blonde hair and other with brunette hair did not acknowledge me at the deli as I was waiting to pick up an order. They both just look at each other like there was some sort of tense and just carried on what they were doing. Brunette gal was making a sandwich and when she was done she walked away, even though she saw me. The blonde hair gal was helping a customer who came after me and once done she carried on her duty. I had to ask if I can get some help here which she ignored then I asked again. Told her I am picking up an order and she said it's right here and told her well that order could have been for anyone. read more

Love this place! Great Ribs & Tri-Tip ready to eat. They don't cover it up with a bunch of sauce. The Store is clean and they care about the community. Special hours for Seniors over the crisis. I love the Produce department and the many salads in the Deli I mostly use the Pharmacy. Celine, Cory & Elizabeth greet you with smiles and remember your name. Made an appointment for a booster, closed my store early, drove 45 minutes to the store, and stood in for 40 minutes so they could tell us that they are not doing vaccines today. We told her we had an appointment and she just shrugged and told us to call corporate. read more

After using the pharmacy for 10 years we are sadly having to move our prescriptions. We have over 10 meds to fill each month and have struggled to get timely refills in the last three months even though we call them in a week in advance. The wait time in line is consistently at least 30 minutes and most of the time prescriptions are NOT ready. I figured during COVID I'll offer some grace and just call before I come pick up to confirm that it's ready. Now they don't even answer the phone and they NEVER return voicemails. It's such a bummer because I adore the staff, but something has changed there and we just can't afford to have missed prescriptions that cause a heart failure patient to destabilize and a child to miss school. :( Since it's impossible to reach a manager or get a call returned I hope to bring this issue to managements attention in this review. read more

I was not expecting to be impressed by a supermarket, but there is a reason the Mono Way Save Mart is ranked so highly on Yelp. The large store is conveniently located on Mono Way between downtown and Highway 108. There is a large parking lot in front of the store and relatively easy access to Mono. Inside, the store shines with a large meat and produce display including all the departments you would expect. I was impressed with not only the freshness and quality of the selections, but also by the incredibly low prices - even on Memorial Day weekend! I was able to stock up for a weekend picnic without breaking the bank and had lots of happy guests. I preferred shopping here to Safeway which seems overpriced anyway. I was appalled at the fact that they are not enforcing face masks at the Timberhill #76, Upper Mono Way Sonora Store! My family and I have been long time residents of Twain Harte & Mi Wuk Village since 1965. We have been faithful customers ever since they opened. I'm a very polite and compassionate person, never rude to others, but when I asked the young clerk who was sanitizing the carts, he informed me (even though you're met with signage that clearly states that face masks are required and mandatory to enter their store) that he couldn't enforce their policy by law. After inquiring about the issue with a cashier clerk about the policy, she informed the manager and told me that they, in fact were supposed to be enforcing store policy at the entrances. UNFORTUNATELY, it's more than apparent that the younger Highschool generation have no respect for adults and public interaction. It's more than evident that they do not even respect their own parents or homes when they reply with flippant, "WHATEVER" remarks. It's my intent to discourage any future patronage by my family members, extended members and friends. SaveMart - either enforce your COVID19 policies, get your younger sales force or lose customers. Just got my check from the feds as I am a senior citizen and now they know me because of social security. I was excited to shop a save mart as I have done for the past year during their special hours for seniors. They had been giving a senior discount Thursday mornings so got up early and loaded up the basket with special (expensive) things I don't usually buy. In line at the checkout, behind someone else in the same situation, I was told they changed their policy and there is no senior discount Thursdays. I'll be shopping elsewhere now. read more

It's conveniently near my house, and the prices are pretty decent. The staff is always friendly, My favorite supermarket! It's where I go for everything. Decent size of a store but not so large you get lost and confused. Some stores are just easy to shop at and this is one of them. Walking around through the meat or produce department I always get a nice Hello how are you doing? Save Mart has a nice and relaxed place to shop. The lady's at the deli was extremely nice and helpful and they tend to have good deals on their fresh food. They also offer meals at a very reasonable price (See photos). We just bought a $50.00 thanksgiving dinner that was delicious. read more

Being in customer service for many years, I have trained my staff to always expect a rush at the end of the day and understand that these are some of your hardest working customers. Unfortunately too many times I have left work as early as I can to pick up a prescription by their early closing time of 7pm. Whether I arrive at 5 till or 1 after 7, the place is locked up and employees avoid eye contact at all cost. I have waited in store and noticed that soon after 6:30 things start getting packed up to close. After a fast 45 minutes drive in, At 7:01 this evening I was met with "you will have to come back tomorrow ". Which is a 9 am opening time, causing me to lose two good hours in the office. I blame pharmacy management not the employees who are rushing to get home. Reward your employees for serving customers at the end of the day, rather than spanking them for an extra 5 minutes of work. read more

I needed some Aran (rolled/pinwheel) sandwiches for a baby shower. I ordered a tray from another store in town and a tray from Save Mart to compare. They were ready when promised and well crafted and presented - in beds of leafy lettuce with strawberries around the edges. They were really good on their own and definitely way better than the other tray I ordered - and cheaper! I would definitely recommend the deli if you need a similar service. read more

I just went grocery shopping this morning and brought home a bunch of moldy fruit so I called to complain to a manager and the manager on duty named Joey was incredibly rude. He asked me if I was going to return them and then told me to have a good day. That was it. I didn't get an apology or an explanation or anything. I got a sarcastic thank you though. I'm sorry I inconvenienced you by calling and complaining about your quality of groceries your store and management are obviously in top shape. Everytime I have entered a concern on their site they have always responded within 24 hours. We are new to Sonora about a year now coming from So Cal and not used to such nice people. We ordered their Thanksgiving Dinner Kit and it was awesome! A great deal for $50.00. 11 lb turkey, mashed potatos, cranberry sauce, stuffing, green bean casserole, rolls and a pie. We just moved to Sonora and are very pleased with this Savemart. We always had good experiences at the Auburn location and were hopeful this location would be good too. Has not disappointed! Great selection in all departments. Good weekly ads and my husband really likes the meat dept when we don't have time to visit a separate butcher. Friendly staff and I don't have issues finding someone when I have a question. I love that they always have baggers and offer to help me since I usually have my 4 and 2 year olds with me. On my last visit the bagger even offered to unload my cart onto the check stand because he saw me struggling with my youngest who was on the verge of meltdown. Grateful mom and customer! read more

Honestly they don't even deserve one star....the store manager Kelly is running this store into the ground. I have been shopping at this store for 29 years. Ever since he took this store over it has been on a down hill route. He never has enough employees in the store. I was in there the other day and there wasn't any deli person at the counter and was told they were in the check stand. The employees are now told they aren't allowed to socialize with the customers as much. This is coming from the head clerks and store manager. Supposedly Kelly is the "King of labor" by not scheduling enough employees and keeping costs low so he can have a bigger bonus. Over the last year the employees started to look miserable and you can tell they do not want to be there. I'll be very sure to pass this along to all to make sure no one shops here until issues are fixed. They need a store manager. Kelly does not belong in tuolumne county and needless to say definitely not to be a manager of any sort. read more

If you check prices, Save Mart is much lower than some of their local competition. We have always received excellent service from their employees. Kelly, Store Manager, always goes above and beyond to make things right if there is a problem and has given his employees the opportunity to make decisions on their own if there is an issue to be dealt with. This store is known as "Upper Save Mart" of the two we have in our town. Since 2008, I have shopped here only a handful of times and each time, have had the WORST experience. Every poor experience has been related to customer service, and the lack thereof. This store does not exist in my world anymore. I have a complaint that previously this store and the one on Stockton St. used to mark down their salads, baked goods, fruit on a cart which is day old food marked to be dumped at the end of the night.Some items they would put a $1 to $4 sticker on it to mark it down. It made coming into the store fun. One of the guys let me know they don't do it anymore. Yes, for all the comments about employees not helping you or making eye contact or pretending you are not there, it is because they are given other jobs to do in the departments. The no. of staff is so small that you are stretched to the limit because of PROFIT for the top guys. You are not allowed any overtime or working off the clock so you must get all your work done before you leave on the dot. Sounds stressful beyond belief. I knew someone who worked there for years.
