Ah, Wal-Mart, the bastion of all of our moderately priced essentials. I have been going to this Wal-Mart for well over 20 years and I have not seen any monumental changes. However as of a couple weeks ago, I was surprised to learn that they are no-longer offering plastic bags at this location. What I received instead, was a basic paper bag, with no handles. I asked the cashier what the deal was, and she said "The manager wanted our location to be more environmentally friendly, so they stopped ordering the plastic bags and ordered the paper bags." Friendly or not, I was still charged $0.10 Cents for each paper bag. Of which, they proved to be more of an inconvenient nuisance with no handles, than being of any value. So, if you want to be able to carry out your groceries, bring your re-usable bags or recycled plastic bags. The real question is if this brilliant decision by management to save money yet still badger us for the $0.10 Cents per bag, will it negatively affect business in any way? I don't think it will be a staggering difference, yet more and more people will be inclined to go to the other Wal-Mart on Lead Hill Road and Rocky Ridge Drive or Target around the corner on Douglas Blvd., as a result. Aside from that, the staff are friendly and helpful and they are rarely without the products one is looking for. Something I have appreciated over the years, is that they do have a large selection of arts and crafts supplies. In some instances there are other products that one can find cheaper at various other locations, however it is worth sacrificing price over convenience, because I don't like jumping around when shopping. They will give your orders to other cars, ignore your concerns & simply are useless when needing help. No one answers the phone. No one responds to issues. Who even runs this store? In general I like this Walmart but the bakery is soooo bad!! One time I ordered the Valentine's Day cake (shown in photo for reference) but modified the writing to say "fully developed frontal lobe" for a 25th birthday and they seriously misspelled the text plus the cake looked nothing like the online photo. I understand it won't always be exact so I want to give grace but the misspelling and not even having the same patterned sides is crazy. And for the record, I double checked my order and it was not spelled incorrectly on my order, so it was for sure their fault. I ended up getting my money back but still a disappointment. read more

It's Walmart ... shop with limited expectations. I took my own advice, and walked through the doors managing my expectations. I tried. Stores should be clean, well stocked, and shopping should be fairly pleasant. This store is dirty and unkept, and the grocery carts aren't much better. The produce area was gross. The " fresh " veggies and fruit, looked like they'd been sitting there for weeks. The lettuce was screaming, "lettuce" escape from here. The fruit, wasn't berry impressed with being there either. We had been on the hunt for some speciality grocery items, and this Roseville location was listed as having the items. They didn't, despite their website showing in stock and aisle numbers. We perused the aisles for other things, and found the prices to be as high as the local to me speciality grocery store. What happened to Walmarts great pricing ?!? This wasn't worth the time or effort. Not an impressive shopping experience, and sadly, not a store that I wound recommend. read more

I needed assistance from customer service and I asked for a chair to sit while trying to make a purchase. I requested a chair due to my physical condition and was told "no, only for employees ". I pulled a trolley over to use and was reprimanded by a condensing employee. The same employee who does not know how to find their manager. Besides not having pricing on products (that used to be illegal), the inability to see the functionality of computer tablets (display locked in a different format than presented) I believe that this will be another store going out of business soon. Walmart needs to ensure that their employees are provided with people skill training and verification of these skills for your all of your employees. What a joke! I seen online that they had a carpet shampooer on sale for $99 and I was gonna buy it online and then drive to the store and wait for them to bring it out to me however they weren't gonna be able to have my order ready by 11 AM so I went into the store instead to purchase it at the store they charge me retail price and said they do not honor their online price. Even if I purchased it from the same store and had them bring it out to me to the parking lot, they would not honor their online price. I wasn't having it delivered. I was gonna pick it up at the store buying at the same store and it's gonna take time for their employee to bring it out to my car however they still do not honor online pricing. Do not buy from this Walmart unless you're gonna purchase online and have them pay their employees to come out and deliver it to you in their parking lot for free and costing Walmart even more money. Last week, I found myself back in the Roseville Wal-Mart auto department. I had pre-ordered a car battery online, and was here to have it installed. I had called ahead of time to make sure it would be okay for me to park by the auto center and walk my battery over, in case my car wasn't able to start up more than once. What I had not realized was that Pickup is no longer a department at the front of the store, but is hidden behind the deli, and is only accessible to employees. The first several employees who I asked for help said, "People usually park in the pickup lanes, and we bring it out." "Pretend I'm a car, and bring it to me," I thought. Eventually, I found someone who was able to bring the battery out to me in a shopping cart, which I pushed over to the auto center, where the mechanic was already waiting for me. He had said it might take a while, because it was the tire and battery guy's day off. I was annoyed that no one had mentioned this when I had called, but he said not to worry, because he could install it in-between checking people in. He installed the battery, and I moved my car up front. I went inside, purchased a couple of small cacti, and then-- my car wouldn't start! Needless to say, I went back to the auto department. At this point, Joseph, who was some sort of supervisor, had arrived. Long story short, he went above and beyond, and helped me out more than he had to. Thanks to him, I was able to get home without having to call AAA again. Anyway, both of my recent experiences at the auto center have been good, and I love my new cacti. I got a cute little thimble cactus that's already in bloom, and a euphorbia anoplia with two little pups hiding behind it. As a bonus, I found a trail right across the parking lot from this Wal-Mart, and ended up walking on it for an hour or so. read more

Today the oil change center techs changed the oil on my pickup and sedan. The pickup clearly is marked for 5W20 and I'd requested it but they inadvertently put 5W30 in. They changed it to 5W20. When I came back with the sedan they were ready and got it right the first time. The interactions with all employees are positive. Steve is a knowledgeable manager. Given the price point this place is very good. They also do RVs. I will likely take my RV there for its next oil change. read more

Make sure you check your receipts at this store. They advertised Tshirts on clearance for $3.00, they didn't ring up at that price. My frozen food was defrosting as the clerk proceeded to wait on other people in self checkout. When she finally got back, she said it was only the red shirts on sale. That's great but there were NO red shirts. There were $3.00 clearance tags in 2 of the 4 shirts. She wanted to argue and I could barely understand the woman so I said thank you, you just reminded me why I no longer like shopping here. And, I walked out and left it for her to put back. Came here today and already saw some Halloween decorations! Wow time is flying! I would say that this is one of the better Super Walmarts that I've been too. It's clean, spacious and a lot of things on sale. I liked the pet area, I come here for most of my pet stuff such as cat litter, cat food and dog food and snacks. When I came today, I noticed a new section called "Esports Arena" which looked to be an area for gaming. I saw some people sitting and playing video games, have not seen that ever at a Walmart. I also noticed how short the customer service line was compared to other Walmarts. Lastly, I noticed that they serve Krispy Kreme....since when?! That is awesome bc Krispy Kreme is kinda far from me. I didn't get any today but maybe on my next visit. Deducted 1 star for parking bc it is fairly tight. It's located at the end of the plaza and there's one road that leads to the parking spots. read more

Slow, showed up on time for an appointment at the tire center to get a tire mounted and put on. Took over an hour for 1 tire.

I love the Walmart supercenter. They have a very white selection of different items to choose from and they also have the auto center where you could have your oil changed or tires rotated. The stuff that works at this location are amazing super friendly very helpful. I always come here when I need more than just food because this is the place to go and the prices are very affordable. This is a very clean establishment very clean atmosphere very large establishment. They definitely have something for everybody. They have sports items holiday items, electronic items and much more. I always find what I need and more at this location and I love the fact that they have two self checkouts on each side of the store. Self checkout is always my go to because I know how to do it and I know how to get my checking out process done in a quick timely Manner. If you have not tried it I would recommend going to walmart.com to see what they have and see if it's something that might fit what you're looking for. Great establishment great friendly staff very clean atmosphere very clean parking lot very clean restrooms. One of my favorite places to shop is Walmart supercenter on Pleasant Grove. I have never read the reviews of Walmart but after what happened to me with an employee the one star reviews don't surprise me. I get it..it's Walmart and slow employees are normal when waiting for them to unlock cases , employees don't know where items are, I could go on but these things don't matter. My daughter was crying because she was tired and some employee asked me to move because I was disrupting their phone call. First of all if I could get her to stop I would have. Parents know how this is. Second of all you were on a cell phone. They could of moved somewhere that they could of talked to whomever was on the phone just as easy as I could have moved. They were not checking an item or anything just talking explaining something they needed to be on the floor. I guess the answer is this is Walmart what do you expect? Well folks it's Walmart so you can never get your hopes too high. But damn it is it asking too much to answer your phones?. Spent $200 plus on a cell phone for Metro by T-Mobile. Was grateful to find a Samsung at an affordable price. However got it home tried to activate it and ran into the dreaded "carrier locked" issue. Metro told me I would have to contact the Walmart electronics department and they could solve my problem. Been trying all day to get in touch with the electronics people but no one answered the phones. Now, not all employees at Walmart are bad. There are some good ones notably a lady named Trish who finally answered the phone in a completely separate Department. I explained to Trish my issue and she sent somebody immediately over to electronics to make sure somebody answered the phone. And it's luck would have it no one was in that department. She said the department employee may have been on lunch. She made a point to take my information name and phone number and said she would pass it on and so they would give me a call back. It's been 7 hours and still no call from the Walmart electronics department. I live 20 miles away from the store and did not want to waste gas going back down if no one was going to be there to help me. So the moral of the story is don't get your hopes up to too high it is after all Walmart. But also know that should you need help there are some employees who are willing to go out of their way to help resolve your problems. read more

This is my first and last time at this Walmart. It was messy, the workers were just wandering aimlessly, and there were boxes all over. Once we got everything, we stood in line with our full cart for about 10 minutes. We were next, when the rudest checker, and older lady in one of the first lanes said, "I'm closed after these people, it's time for my break!" Then she slams down her aisle closed sign that was not there while we waited. She was so aggressive and didn't even say she was sorry. So my husband asked what lane we should get into and she said, "None, because SHE has to go on break now too." She pointed to the next lane which was now also closed. Then she said, "You'll have to go to self check." We had a cart full of items, and self-check was completely busy. It was awful. Then since we bought a bottle of margarita mix, we had to pay for that separately with the self check clerk. This Walmart is way understaffed. I have never in my life been in a store where they just close the only two open lanes with no back up for breaks. It was 8:30 tonight, but not like they were closing. Really shameful treatment of customers, and I wasn't expecting much out of Walmart in the first place. read more

Ordered new tires on-line and made an appointment at the same time for install. Figured we would be in and out in about an hour. Boy were we wrong 3.5 hours later they were finally complete. Service manager was working as well. They do not seem to have a very efficient system in place and the "excuses" we got were weak at best. Don't tell me you're behind and then stand around talking... We have not had these issues at other Walmart auto centers, so will definitely go back to those, but not this one. read more

I am extremely disappointed with the experience I had at your store. When I went to purchase engine oil, I noticed that the online price was significantly cheaper. I asked the cashier to price match it with their own online application. However, the employee told me, "You need to ask the shift lead." Jayson, the shift lead, came over and said he couldn't do it because the price match only applies to online purchases, even though the app states that the price "may" be eligible for price matching. He argued that "may" doesn't mean "must." In the end, he refused to honor it. What a "great" service. I hope your store takes steps to improve customer service in the future, as such situations leave a negative impression and discourage potential buyers. I would like to see greater attentiveness to customer needs and a more flexible approach to situations involving prices and promises made in the app. read more

Many people probably know what a bar crawl is and may even have participated.  They are always fun right? Walmart crawls are the complete opposite of fun!  This is the experience my mother put my dad and I through going to several Walmarts in one day, to search for a transport chair, because her current one had gotten too uncomfortable for her to use. Apparently, she saw their ad in a flyer and decided we should try to buy a new one for her. When we entered the store, we went straight to the pharmacy where the wheel chairs were supposed to be on display.  However, they had no chairs at all! Staff members nearby, including the pharmacist could not help us because they were not aware or trained with knowledge about their inventory stats. We ended up having to "crawl" to another Walmart. Other than being disappointed, I have to at least mention that this is your average Walmart, offering a little bit of everything at mostly low prices.  And of course, these stores seem to have a knack of being conveniently located in just about every neighborhood.  When it comes to saving money, shopping here is a necessity because many of us have few choices when you are on a tight budget.  This place turned out to be a bit of a surprise from it's spacious parking lot to the clean, organized and well stocked interior, including the grocery section. Came here at 8am on a Sunday. Nearly 15 employees are walking the floor shopping for other people with half empty carts, yet nobody is around to open the laundry detergent case and there's only 1 open extremely slow check out stand. Waited for FIFTEEN minutes at the laundry pods for anybody to come after pressing the button. 6 employees doing nothing walked by and saw but continued chatting with each other about random conversation and walk away. 1 didn't have a key but "called others" and nobody showed up. Every time I come to this store I'm appalled at how useless the staff is and how if you ask for help they just continue to chat like teens while you watch and wonder when they will actually help you and stop chatting. Less than 20 items in checkout took over 30 minutes to scan, and I still have to drive around town to go buy laundry detergent at another store because no staff would show up...ugh... read more

Just left Walmart on Pleasant Grove. Terrible customer service. The checker does not pay attention to whom is in line. I waited on check out (Isle 9 @ 3:30 pm) this afternoon the light was solid. She decided to turn it off while I was in line for 15 minutes. Then she continued to talk to the 2 people she was helping close to the belt. She total ignored that I was in line. When it was may turn she said I am closed by light is off. I did inform her that I was in line when the light was solid and had been waiting for awhile. No apologies. I like to shoutout the front-end manager MARCUS at Roseville CA for saving 31 cents to Walmart. and Walmart for great training!!!! I did not know that Walmart needed those 31 cents that desperate. Is Walmart going down? I found one package of red Christmas ornaments, there was not any other however one of the ornaments was broken so I went to customer service and asked "one of the six ornaments is broken, if you give me discount, I will take it. First, MARCUS "the front end manager" was looking at the package from outside not even touching then he said he was looking for where are the broken pieces. WHILE HE WAS WATCHING I OPENED THE PACKAGE AND FOUND THE BROKEN PIECES AND SHOWED HIM. After he was convinced that it was broken and the pieces were in my hand without cutting myself, he offered 69 cents discount. I said there are 6 pieces in this package and the price is 6.99 you could make it at least $ 1 down. He did not budge of course I did not purcase it. Then they said if they send it back to the manufacturer, they get the full money back YUUUPPPPPIIIIIIIIIII WALMART MADE 31 CENTS BY NOT GIVING THE PACKAGE TO ME.... ATTEMPT ONE My wife and Wished to purchase a food processor and were unable to, since the keys for the security cabinet could not be located. We waited between 5 and 10 minutes and voiced our complaint to the cashier, to no avail, and returned home empty-handed. ATTEMPT TWO My wife and I went to the optical a few weeks later for glasses requiring repair. EXCELLENT service as always!! Next, my wife tried to purchase the Kitchen Aid food processor and could not get assistance, finally we had four people helping (all inexperienced). Now the case could not be opened because the ONE AND ONLY KEY was stuck in an adjacent cabinet. I attempted to contact this store MISMANAGER no less than four times, without success! Because of my expenditure of time, auto driving, and complaint time, this is a $1,000 dollar processor. SO SAD!!! read more

Today I watched two giant orders where they bagged groceries in their own bags because the guest marked bringing own bags but arrived without any. Plus I am told they don't carry products often after shows in stock and often don't ship or substitute adequately. Stick to Safeway in this area for grocery pickup. read more
