Good or Bad hard to say(Ted talk) lol. Good: this sales person was good! She really known here produce and there competition. She helped me weigh my options out. (I'm that person that doesn't like help because I secretly don't wanna be talked to or bothered.) I know I'm working on it in 2025. lol she was great! Bad: I was waiting on my pictures to print. And a manager was speaking to an employee about returning from her break late. But he was doing on the floor and loudly. When I spoke up two other employers walked away not wanting to be involved. But the poor women couldn't even get a word in. She was backing up because he was very close to her. When I said something he tried to excuse the situation. Until I told him I video it. Then he said well you didn't ask for my permission to video him according to California state law. Im from Compton it's not going to be the first or last time I have an encounter with the law. I don't know the law so I will not post the video ( plus the it can be belittling to the employee)but I am going to screenshot his face. Sorry but this place is a joke. I normally don't defend Walmart but Walmart, you're getting ripped off with the incompetent employees you have working for you at this certain Walmart. Let me explain. I was at the self check out and I knew the DEF fuel additive was cheaper on Walmart.com. I used my Walmart app on my phone and boom the price for DEF was $11.38. At this certain Walmart, it rang up $13.98. That's a $2.60 difference. Times that by two, that's $5.20 in savings. Almost and I mean almost a gallon of diesel. I'm lying when I said almost. If I can educate you, use Walmart.com and price match. Walmart will price match per their policy. As long as it is not on clearance or some other special. If it's a normal every day price, go to the app and price match. Save some $. We have to these days with these crazy prices. Moving on. I asked an employee for a price match. Well she used her Walmart device and the price rang up $13.98. I showed her my phone that has the Walmart app and showed her the price difference. She insisted that the price was $13.98. I explained to her this is her employer's app not mine and the price is cheaper on my phone. This incompetent girl the. wandered off to help another customer. Now I am pissed. How dare you walk off to help Someone else when you're dealing with my issue. I was then dished off to an employee named David. He tried to tell me the price on Walmart.com is different than the store. No duh David. I know that. I am showing you the price difference so match it. David said they do not match the .com. What do you Mean you don't price match. Your policy says you do. Here is where it gets really weird. He started to back away from me as if I was being hostile. I confronted him asking him why was he backing away from me when I was not being hostile. This really pissed me off for him to do this. I didn't expect to get yelled at by Naomi for a mistake they made the previous visit and for simple questions I asked (because this was my first time sending money). I was at a very vulnerable state and I get they might have had a bad day but when I let her know that I felt she was yelling at me for know reason all I got was "IM NOT BEING RUDE! This Super Center on McHenry Ave, another Super Center (1st ever Walmart in Modesto) on Plaza Pkwy, and a new Neighborhood Walmart on coffee Rd. I like this one the best as it seems to be the most organized Super Center with a wide variety of things available ranging from food, beverages automotive, houseware, health/personal items, sports, outdoors, clothings/shoes, etc. read more

I just don't get it. Recently, while visiting family in Modesto, CA I went to Walmart to purchase some box wine for Thanksgiving, a store I rarely go to. So I grab my 2 boxes and head for the self-checkout and walk over to one of the checkout registers. As soon as I start to scan my wine the Walmart 'associate' runs over and tells me I can't check out using self-service because I am buying a product containing alcohol. I tell her that's no problem because I'm 72 years old and she says I can only buy booze at Walmart at the regular cash register. I'm stunned to say the least, give her the 'look', grab my 2 boxes of wine and head over the other registers where I get to stand in line with a million other people buying shopping carts full of Thanksgiving food. All this for 2 boxes of wine. It took almost 20 minutes! So I have a question for the geniuses at Walmart HQ. Why is that I can drive a few miles down the road to COSTCO and purchase any form of alcohol they sell using the self-checkout line? Which I did because my wife also wanted a couple of bottles of Chardonnay that Walmart doesn't stock and COSTCO does. You guys and the dimwits at Habitat for Humanity that won't accept perfectly good and working used lights bulbs must have gone to the school for the brainless. I think this is the best Walmart in which I've been with a large Costco-like feel! It has some unique things I've seen: -A pizza station with pretty decent-tasting pepperoni pizza! -Kimberely's cupcakes both strawberry-filled and chocolate -A wide variety of jewelry-making supplies (similar to Michaels) Overall, this Walmart is probably the best in the entire central valley area (and maybe even the bay area, definitely not as crowded), employees are friendly and helpful and the store itself is clean! read more

They don't know how to treat their customers, if you don't have a receipt, they won't return or exchange an item. I bought a carpet cleaner machine there and one lady was about to exchange it and then you get this other dude named Daniel who was very rude and said nope we can't do it. They told me to contact the state of California treasury. Issue my check differently How are they so incapable of doing a simple job ? She didn't feel like doing her job and suggested we come back tomorrow. She also wasn't very knowledgeable about the return policy and we had to correct her on it going off of what we read on the walmart website. This audacity of the storefront checkers/ cashiers are outrageous, my wife was approached not 1, NOT TWICE BUT THREE TIMES accusing her of stealing at self checkout, when my wife presented to her the receipt of all paid for items she still went on to say" I still believe you stole something but whatever". We received a text saying the order was ready, and the app confirmed the order was available to be picked up. My husband waited for 2 hours to pickup our groceries. He called inside and was told our order was not ready and was asked if he wanted to wait (and couldn't give an estimate of wait time) or come back tomorrow. Tomorrow?? When he asked how he would know if the order was ready so he could wait at home, he was then hung up on. Trust me, using their online pickup option will not save your time. I have never seen a higher level of incompetence than the employees at this Walmart! I came to this location looking for cooking twine after I tried ordering it online, but was told that it wouldn't be delivered till the next day despite having same-day pick up. I was told that the twine was on aisle A19, where the frozen meat is--could not find it, even though the electronic device the employee had showed it was there. I asked an employee at the frozen meat department, and she told me it was on F18 where the school supplies were. Guess what? Still couldn't find it. Frustrated, I gave up and walked out. Shopping at Walmart is mostly on your own speed and direction, which is normal BUT there are a few things you can't do on your own like answer their phone so you can ask a question, need a key made, or open a locked cabinet because you don't have a key. Walmart please try to address these needs of personnel to help your customers. In a way, you already know what to expect when you go to Walmart. For the most part, this Walmart fulfills your expectations. Except that I still haven't seen any of the infamous People Of Walmart here. This is a typical Walmart which also has a grocery section. There aren't many of those in the Bay Area. It's more one-stop shopping than a Walmart without groceries. It's cleaner than most I've been in, decor is more up-to-date, staff appears to be more helpful and knowledgeable. If you're coming from the north, it's not as hard to turn left on McHenry here, traffic is not as bad as south of Standiford/Sylvan. And prices are low, just as you'd expect. Because of its location in the north-central part of Motown, we've been there several times over the last years on our trips to and through Modesto. It's only 8 miles south of Highway 120, so it's the closest Walmart to the main highway between the Bay Area and the Sierras, if you don't include the store in Sonora. We've bought groceries there, household items that we happened to need, and "health food" for our drive. Today, I went to see if they had an item that's hard to find in my part of the state: ammo. Not only did they have it, but their cheap ammo for target practice is the lowest price I've ever seen. (Fred the Glock hasn't shot it yet, so I can't comment on its accuracy.) The bad news is parking. I lived here so long ago that I remember when it was Beno's. It was the only building on the lot. The old Beno's is now the Walmart, but the perimeter of the commodious parking lot is now more retail stores. It's nice to have even more one-stop shopping, especially if you want to eat at Round Table Pizza after your Walmart excursion. But it's so hard to find a place to park now! The lot is packed with cars most of the time. I've never been to the Walmart on Briggsmore at 99, but that would be a better outlet to shop at during Christmas. A solid 3 stars. Add a star for being a higher-quality Walmart, but subtract a star due to the cramped parking lot. read more

It seemed as though no one had replenished the department for weeks. Later, as I traveled through the store, it seemed as though they had forgotten to replenish products everywhere. One the better Walmarts I've been to. And I've been to a few in my lifetime in Sunnyvale, Hayward, East San Jose etc. Now moving to Modesto from bay area I've had good experiences and some bad. But this Walmart is wayyyyy better then Plaza Prkway! When I first experienced the walmart off plaza parkway, it was terrible. I was in line in the customer service and one of the workers walked up and said (to a manager I'm assuming) "um we just had a complaint of a homeless lady shooting herion up in the bathroom and there is blood all over the place" the manager responds " O not again, it's probably the same lady". So needless to say I looked at my fiance and asked "what kind of city are you moving us to" lol. So when shared my experience with his family they then explained they only shop at the super center off McHenry. Boy am I glad they told me. It's 24 hours, clean, I've never had a bad experience with the workers. Typical walmart workers. But the grocery area is what keeps me coming back. I always find Jennie O turkey bacon at great price, they carry a vegan mayo called Just Mayo for $2.98!!!! Way less expensive then Sprouts, Trader Joe's etc. Love the fresh deli option. It's a one stop shop for me. And that's great with two kids I can stop in get school supplies, conditioner, make up and things to make dinner. Recommend this location over any other. read more
