Kingston, NY Walmart...An Insult. Called 3 times before anyone answered. The person I got was rude and of no help. ME: "Hi, I'm calling to see if you have pet carriers; I need one for a small cat?" WALMART: "Whaddya mean, pet carrier"? ME: "You know, a carrier to take an animal to the vet"? WALMART: "We got a lotta stuff here. Break it down for me" I never like dealing with this place. Let's get down to it baby. This Wal-Mart SUCKS! You can't just go "in & out" here. FIRST: It takes a good amount of time to find parking. SECOND: It's not very clean when you go inside. Before you say that all Wal-Marts are dirty, I will cut you off and say BULLSHIT. You wanna see a clean one? Shake your ass to the Fishkill or Catskill location. At this rate, just visit one with "kill" in its' location. THIRD: the aisles are REALLY narrow. You get the stink eye from someone coming in the other direction. FORTH: OPEN MORE LANES!!! There has to be 20 lanes and only 4 or 5 are open...ever. I'm glad to know that I can catch up on a chapter or two while waiting on their lines. Do you like shopping on a Tuesday at 1:49 AM? No? As a general rule, I avoid Walmart like the plague. I refuse to support corporations that run small businesses into the ground and are proud of it. Sadly, I used to wind up at this Walmart once to twice a year if I needed to purchase things in bulk for work. It was never a good experience... this place is dirty, dingy and generally a huge mess with merchandise all over the place. The quality of the items carried here is generally pretty bad, from ugly clothing to dusty bottles of juice. There is always a long wait at the registers, and the clerks operating the registers seem either poorly trained or just don't grasp how to do their jobs... of course, it doesn't help that they are mistreated by the corporation they work for, with breaks denied, low pay and poor health benefits. How can a store that has a zillion departments in one big box location do anything well? I would never take my car there much less trust the vision department. I'll pay more for a manicure at a business run by an esthetician and feel better about supporting a business that someone put a lot of work into, thank you very much. Why would anyone want to shop for anything at a location where birds are known to fly around and crap on people's heads with the management doing nothing to stop it? That's poor business and just plain unsanitary, especially at a location that sells food. Another reason to avoid the Kingston Walmart - the parking lot. It seems like it was poorly planned, and you're lucky if you find a parking spot without nearly getting into an accident. It seems like the shining beacon that is Walmart makes some folks forget how to drive. My advice: Avoid Walmart and support your local businesses whenever possible. read more

I go here to get various items and have never had a negative experience. The people who work here are always extremely helpful; they know where everything in this cavernous store is located and usually will take you there. I was pleasantly surprised to find certain things I needed lately, such as oven mitts and an ironing board were made in the USA, not China. Good! My only negative comment is that many of the live plants in the nursery dept. are more expensive than Lowe's. read more

Talk about a worthless bunch of idiots. All the employees are rude and bitter. Just a phone call about a pick up. Chose the option for that department and was transferred to electronics. Woman answered the phone and before I could get 2 words out she put me on hold without telling she was doing it. Waited for almost 10 mins on hold(dumb I know) and nothing. This store is absolutely horrible. The lines are unreasonably long; the store is always dirty; and the employees are never helpful. Parking is never available and I would rather drive an hour to another Walmart then go to this store. Going to the Kingston Walmart is undoubtely STRESSFUL!! read more

Came to this Walmart with my son to purchase groceries with a cart filled with eggs, bread, meat, bakery items, fruit, chips, and beer. The cashier, Tai Quon asked for my ID as well as my sons ID (my son is under 21) and refused to sell the beer to me! I walked away from the register to speak to a manager and she was very nasty and said I cannot purchase the beer because I am with someone under aged and walked away. I spent probably an hour and a half shopping in Walmart to end up walking out with nothing! What a waste of my time and aggravation!! I've never received terrible customer service before and I won't be coming back ever again. I went next door to Target for my groceries and across the street to Beer World and purchased my beer without a problem! read more

Went to Walmart this morning to get my olil change. I was there at 10 minutes after seven and there was four people in front of me already. I thought OK let me give it a shot. After learning that they were all getting tires I said good, I only need oil change. Should be no problem. To my surprise they told me I still have a three hour wait, because they only have two guys there and they do the same jobs. Not one for tires and one for oil,So I left. Will try another day, you would think with all the money that Walmart has and as little they pay their people, they could have more guys there working. The damn shame .It goes into the rich man's pocket. They are over worked and under payed. Well I went back today, want to get my oil change I was the first one in, they re-sealed one of my tires and changed my oil.The only reason I went back is because Jiffy Lube has Gulf hi mileage and I would never put that oil in my car.I use Caster oil high mileage.My Acura MDX has over 200,000 miles I am not going to use cheap oil at this point.Well anyway the guy behind the desk was very helpful his name is Tim,and very kind.It still took two hours. read more

I came at around midnight last minute Easter shopping to fine 2 registers open and about 50 people in line. Both cashiers were taking their sweet old time, no hurry ,,, no rush. Not my fault they don't get paid enough to hurry up a little if there are that many people waiting- maybe they need new staff? Had myself a real bad experience at Walmart tonight. Should ring a bell back to you're last bad experience at your local Walmart. I'll pause while you recall when Darryl divorcing his cheating wife/first cousin Krystal after their brutal fight that broke out in the frozen food section. Sorry for just making you remember that time you got hit in the face with a box of frozen White Castle burgers that caused you to get three stitches below your eye. I digress, the lifeless body I saw hanging out of a truck parked in the back of the dirtiest lot I've ever seen was enough to deter any customer from returning. This is without even mentioning the maze it was to find a good charging cable, the ten minutes we waited after pressing a button for assistance that never showed, and the rude staff members. Watch out for their vision dept. Save yourself a lot of grief and shop for eyewear some place else. The woman who runs the dept is a nightmare..nasty, bossy, no sense of customer service...they make mistakes in the perscriptions and if you say anything she doesn't like you are forever kicked out of the store. Who needs this? They have forgotten that the customer is always right..or almost always..but even reasonable people have had this experience with her. I don't know who she knows but it's someone at the top protecting her...because if anyone else acted this way they would be gone in a flash. read more

I bought a tire in catskill Walmart went to Kingston hit a curb and it popped rode it to Kingston Walmart they had me purchase another tire due to I didn't purchase road hazard come to find out it was a bad tire wlamart in Kingston would not give me my money back with the help of my sister brought me and the tire to catskill where they said u could see it was a bad tire and since I didn't have it not 30 days they gave me my money back I will never shop or go to Kingston Walmart they are rude and don't follow their own policys read more

This Wal-mart is horrible. I just finished my Black Friday shopping and I had the worst experience here. I didn't see anything I wanted in the flyer so I went there last. I decided to check out the toys and found out that all Barbie and Lego Friends were on a manager's special for 30% off. It was after 2:00 but when I scanned the items to check their price and they rang up at the sale price. I filled my cart with about $200.00 (at the sale price) worth of stuff and headed to the register. I walked from the toy aisle to the register and by the time I checked out the prices went back up to regular price. The sales people were very rude and I ended up leaving my cart full of toys behind. I understand that the manager's special ended at 2:00 but the prices that scan on the price checker should be honored. As I went to customer service to talk to them there were several other people with similar complaints. One woman was at electronics and they scanned the X-Box for her and it was $99 but when she paid it rang up full price. They called back over the radio and the guy who replied had a very nasty attitude. He stated that Black Friday ended at 4:00 and all prices were back to normal. Their flyer clearly stated that prices were good all weekend long (while supplies last). It NEVER said anything about all deals ending at 4:00. I typically don't like shopping at Wal-Mart (especially this one) but I would go here sometimes. I now plan on taking my business elsewhere and will be buying the rest of my toys from stores that care about their customers. read more

WARNING! Though Walmart has deals and savings avoid their bakery if you want a cake ordered. This was their second offense with me and I should have learned the first time. Let me explain last year I ordered a cake for my daughters first birthday. My daughter has severe allergies so I made sure to order a cake she could eat. I pick it up take it home no problem only to find its not what I ordered. My little girl couldn't even have her cake on her birthday! I called and they refunded me but the memories had already been ruined. So this year I thought to give them a second chance and ordered 2 weeks in advance for pick up well pick up day comes and no cake! The person who took my order wrote down the wrong day! I had to wait an hour to get help from the manager of the bakery and then another 40 minutes for a rushed cake which I'll give them credit looks lovely. But I will never ever order a cake from this place again and warn you all cause I wasn't the only one with messed up orders that day. read more

Today i met the most beautiful angels. ( Ironically i put back the lighted angels i could not afford.) I want to thank the store manager, the ladies in the layaway dept. and the salesman in the electronics dept. who helped me today. I realized i did not need the light for the angels to find us. I shop at this Walmart all the time and it has improved somewhat over the years.The good;the grocery department has gotten a lot better with stock conditions,presentation and cleanliness.The Deli has the nicest, friendliest, people in the store and I have never had a bad experience except when they don't have enough help.The hardlines and softlines are usually very neat,clean,and well signed.The bad;The meat department consistently sells questionable product,bad chicken,bloated packages on multiple occasions.over stacked product in the well freezers(defrosting).The garden department is an area that needs to be improved,rotting plants,high prices, unstaffed most of the time.The front end has gotten better over the years,but you are still dis-respected while spending over $100 on a regular visit. I refuse to ring up,and bag my own order while they are cutting employees hours( I know many employees who work there).STOP TAKING YOUR CUSTOMERS FOR GRANTED. read more
