Although I have visited this particular Walmart on several occasions, this time it was hard to maneuver because of renovations inside an out. Some of the parking lot was taped off, so available parking was slim. The bathroom was not clean. There were primarily self checkout lanes. Only one manned checkout lane was open. Other than that, the store was as it usually was-fully stocked. Customer service was slow mainly because the clerk kept dealing with other issues during my transaction.

On our way home from Woodstock, we'd taken a slight detour to purchase a few pantry staples and perishables. I said my Hail Mary's before going in and wished for the best. And wouldn't you know, this Walmart Supercenter, is spick and span. I was downright shocked....of excitement. Aisles are neat on shelves and accurately stacked. Maybe I've seen the unsightly mess- but this location makes my local Walmart look like a castle (well....not exactly but you get my drift). So forgive my Walmart Supercenter thrill. The produce section here? Not a rotten vegetable or fruit to be seen! Employees were helpful with pleasant smiles; in fact, no one seemed 'bothered'. Our cashier was very friendly and talkative throughout my transaction. Totally like! We all know, certain Walmart locations and other big box stores just let out that negative image, but would I have bought produce or anything else at my local Walmart? Nope. But, this Walmart Supercenter, looked inviting and all their goods here, were displayed as it should.

Do they sell firewood at this Walmart?

Sorry. I don’t think so. Best to call ahead. Im pretty familiar with this location and they will try to find you an adequate solution, however.

They also have some picture books to borrow (For the kids) while you wait. And this was a life-saver. We got a Reuben was was pretty good quality. Very thick meat, the saurkraut was great and so was the cheese. But it was so salty, I could only eat half of it. The same goes for the BLT with turkey. The turkey was nicely sliced and the ingredients were all fresh, but it was so salty, I could barely eat it. The bacon very thick, so they put the slices on the side. I like the concept, but too salty for me.

You can really taste the quality of the ingredients, and everything feels thoughtfully made. The ambiance is warm and cozy, the kind of place you want to linger in. I also love that it's part cafe, part market, so you can grab incredible food and also pick up market goods like fresh bread and local items. It feels like a neighborhood hub and a destination all in one. An absolute must if you're in Kingston.

I know I could easily run to Vitamin Shoppe for my fish oil, rosehip oil, sea moss or natural hair and beauty products- but honestly, I'd rather keep supporting Mother Earth . Every so often when I'm catching up with other shops in Kings Mall, I come here to stock up on a few things. While prices are on the high side, the selections make it worth it. When I stopped by recently, I got one of their smoothies, which was super delicious. They also have nice fresh-pressed juice, pastries and hot meal menus. Bigger applause for catering to Vegans and Vegetarians as well. Mother Earth feels like a one-stop shop. The shelves are filled with everything from supplements and herbs to skincare and unique natural products I won't find in any store- not even Vitamin Shoppe. The environment is warm, earthy and inviting- and can tell they care about what they offer.

For example, a quart of Fage Best Self Lactose Free yogurt can be purchased at Price Chopper for $7.99. At Mother Earth, it is sold for $14.49. A pint of organic blueberries sold today for almost $10 as opposed to under $6 at Adams, and the ones at Adams are larger and plumper. I expect higher prices at a market specializing in organic foods, but the disparity makes this store out of reach except for a few of the hardest to find products.

It's one of the businesses on that stretch of Broadway to endure while others have changed hands. So the other day, I decided to take a peek inside and find out what's for lunch. Chicken Vindaloo. There was also a vegetarian option. Each cost $15. The vindaloo was really delicious. I could smell it as soon as I walked in. The location is both a gift shop/ market and restaurant. There's dry goods and ready-made foods for sale on the shelves as well as brightly hand-painted gifts such as food storage containers and kitchen towels.I bought both as gifts for friends. I also got an order of vindaloo to eat-in along with unsweetened ice tea. The meal was delicious. The business owner is gracious and helpful. Her ready-made lunches are served in what look to be attractive eco- friendly paper containers. When I let her know that I couldn't finish my meal, she smiled and said," I'll give you a cover for the container so you can take it home." The cover fit perfectly and was secure. I let her know that I'd be returning for lunch and shopping another time.

All my experiences with her have left me with a bad taste in my mouth and I have overlooked it until recently. She's not nice, she tries to be pleasant but comes off insincere. Recently I spent almost $100 there and ate there. The meals come with a very small/trial size condiment/chutney that holds maybe a tbsp of content. I asked for another one and she was hesitant, she told me that I could buy them and pointed to a shelf. Seriously, I couldn't believe it! I asked again and she reluctantly gave me a different condiment babbling about how there are different ones. Nm that I just spent a lot of money for mediocre food! The frozen butternut squash and lemongrass was very watery and lacked flavor. I used it as a broth that's how watery it was. The hot chai was bland and watery with no taste of spices. The chicken curry was decent but again lacked depth of flavor and was on the watery side. It's very sad bc I like Indian food and want to support local businesses but not when you're treated like this esp by the owner who is very cheap and unpleasant. Food has gone downhill and watering everything down to cut costs doesn't help. And it's way overpriced like other reviewers state.
