This is my neighborhood Walmart and I have been shopping there since they opened. I like the fact that I can go in and scan my own things and check out, but the dedicated Walmart+ lines always have people who are ringing up individual items from their cart-oftentimes with loaded carts. Why bother having a designated lane if you let anybody use it? I could be in and out in so little time if I didn't run into this problem. I've mentioned it to the staff and they don't seem to know how to change it (or care). The other issue is that the staff who are collecting items for online orders are having full-on loud conversations with someone on their phone by way of earbuds. Often times it's in a different language so I don't know what they're saying, but it is obvious they are speaking with a friend or family member! One time it went on for over 10 minutes and I know that because I wound up following behind her with my shopping. I did let management know but obviously that was ignored. Last time I was there someone stood in front of the juice refrigerator and didn't move. She turned and looked at me as I waited for her to make a selection, but she still stood there looking and looking. I finally said excuse me before grabbing something quickly, but she didn't say a word or move out of the way! That tells me that there isn't much oversight regarding these people who are shopping in the store for other customers. read more

Last resort and even then I would consider giving up on the item before going again sums up this Walmart. You know those places where you cringe as you walk in. This is that place x10. It's really bad and I think it needs to just start over. I ordered some items online. Went to pick them up and of course 1 item wasn't in stock when though it showed 6 in inventory. I began my search in the right section. The gardening department but the row was not in sight. I continued my search where kids were playing in the next aisle with no parent in sight. They rammed into the shelves causing items to fall next to me the next aisle over. Turns out, the parents left the 4 boys in the gardening section while they went shopping. The youngest one screaming their brother was being mean. When I found an associate to ask where this aisle was. He handed me the phone and said he was new and only been there a few weeks. I went back and eventually found the items through the sliding doors, almost outside but not quite. I'm not sure what to say. Order online was a failure? Asking an associate was a failure? Self checkout was closely monitored. And yet they ask to see a receipt on the way out? Seriously, spend maybe a dollar more and go to the competition across the street. This place is bad. I have been looking for a Halloween decorations and each year, I add to my collection. I have always wanted one of the moving witches that cackle and light up, when you walk by. I found my friendly witch at Walmart. She lights up and turns from side to side. She has a few scary phrases, that don't seem so scary. Now, truthfully, she is not the best quality. But, I can't help really liking her and I think the kids will get a real thrill, when they come to trick or treat. I also order books through Walmart and they have great prices. This shopping center is a little confusing to get around, but since it is close to 270, you can't go wrong. I hope you have as much fun decorating for Halloween as I do. The only good thing about Walmart are the reasonable prices. Besides that, not really a good store to go to. The people who go there are inconsiderate and rude. Even the employees since they do not want to help if you ask them a question. Like, I had asked them to look up a couple of items to see if they had them in store and one of the emploees simply said, "I don't know. If you don't see them on the shelves, then we probably don't have it in stock." And went back to looking at her phone and sitting down. Didn't even bother checking. Asked for a Blu-ray DVD title and a Beats earphones in a different color than the ones on display and didn't get any assistance. Called for help in the Ribbon aisle and nobody came. I don't know what kind of people are hired at this place, but nobody seems to want to do their job properly... Crowds and crowds of people are always at this store no matter the day or time. Worst Walmart I've been in anywhere in the country. I ordered assorted coin wrappers, was informed there would be a substitute. There was no description of the substitute, and a tiny, grainy picture of no value. At pickup, I received penny wrappers. I returned the substitute inside the store, asked where the coin wrappers were, and found the exact item I had ordered on the shelf. The order picker was incompetent, but excels at wasting customer's time. While I was in the store, I asked an associate where I would find greeting cards. She pointed me to the front of the store where they sell gift cards. Big difference. I asked another associate where to find hand wipes, got a blank look and an "I don't know." I found them in the next aisle over. She couldn't be bothered to look it up on her hand held device. I have never been in a less helpful (or intelligent) Walmart environment. I rarely leave reviews, but what happened to my family because of the Germantown Walmart needs to be shared. On July 30th, we bought an 8-person tent here for a 3-night camping trip to Assateague Island starting August 3rd. After driving six hours with our two little girls (3 and 1), we opened the box and were shocked to find the tent had clearly been returned before, duct-taped back together, and missing all of the poles. We had no way to set up shelter. That night, my wife, our daughters, and I were forced to sleep outside on the beach, completely exposed to cold winds, damp air, and wild horses roaming nearby. By 4 a.m., it became too cold and wet, so we ended up crammed into our vehicle for the rest of the night. The trip we'd planned for weeks -- something we were so excited for -- was ruined after one miserable night, and we had to pack up and go home. Because we were left exposed all night, my wife and I both got sick, and our 1-year-old became so ill we had to take her to the pediatrician on August 5th fearing pneumonia. When my wife called Walmart customer service, she was told they couldn't do anything because we bought the tent in-store, but if we'd purchased it online, we would've been helped. That makes no sense and left us completely unsupported. We trusted Walmart to sell us a safe, reliable product for our family, and that trust was broken. I hope other families read this before shopping here and double-check everything before relying on their products for safety, especially one that is used for shelter in the wilderness. read more

I went shopping at this Walmart 2 days ago. I use the scan and go. When you scan and go you don't get a paper receipt it is supposed to show up electronically in your app. I had never used skin and go before so I wanted to make sure that I could find it and have it on hand. I felt like that is needed in today in the county that I live in because you have to pay for bags so everybody comes with their own bags. So now I have my own bags and they want me to leave the store telling me it's okay with no receipt. That wasn't okay with me. What if I needed to bring some things I purchased back for a response I didn't have a receipt. They wanted a debate and argue with me. They told me to go see the manager as I'm waiting in line at customer service old young woman walks up to me with Walmart tag on and again she's trying to tell me it's okay to leave without a receipt. I'm telling her that's not logical then I find out she's not the manager. So I said I thought I was supposed to talk to a manager well she's at lunch. So I could get a receipt I had to wait 45 minutes with these people until the manager on duty was done her lunch. And then I never got any help. All the women at the service desk thought this was amusing and funny. Everyone of them women that I dealt with were not Americans. This store is habitual for this. All these immigrants Walmart has working for them and you can't ask them a question because they are either all snuggled up in one aisle talking about their jobs and their manager and as soon as you say excuse me can you help me they look at you like your the problem and you're rude for interrupting them. Then when it comes to customer service to get an exchange or to have something done first of all nobody knows what they're doing up there and then again the air against to get them to do their job at in customer service is like who are you to bother me. I worked in customer service for 38 years I've been a manager I've been a front end manager, I don't know what they're giving at the supercenter located in Germantown Maryland but it's not good customer service. Also they stock while customers are there they clean under their shelving units while customers are there and then their shoppers don't show the customers any courtesy either they'll you could be looking at a product trying to figure out what you're going to pick and they will roll right in front of you stand there and continue their shopping and then move on so while you're shopping you have to go around all the trash in the aisles from them cleaning you got to fight around the stalkers and then you got to work around the Walmart shoppers and finally if you can't find anything or if something is not working like getting a receipt they want to act like you got foreheads again this is not customer service. As a military wife for 22 years I've lived in other countries and Americans are told you are an ambassador of your country so behave. Now look at what all these entitled immigrants over here thinking we owe them something and what does Walmart do nothing. Walmart is fraud Walmart steals from their customers their apps ain't set up right they overcharge then when you call to get something done you can't understand who their customer service representatives are saying and look at the employees they're hiring because they're cheaper so you make the boxes smaller you make the product smaller you charge more for the products and you bringing these immigrants that don't give customer service. And whoever y'all have at the warehouse well that's understandable now because if I go into the store and see the employees well then I know why that I ordered one thing like butane for my lighter and then I ended up getting Kathy Johnson's light bulbs for two counties away from me. SOMETHING NEW!!! I just found another new beverage that is so refreshing with a crisp taste. I could really taste the pineapple & the coconut. This pineapple/ coconut sparkling water is so good I was really surprise. Because I usually don't purchase the Bubly brand sparklingwater I really can't taste the flavor. And didn't like the other flavors nor the after taste. Now that's just me but have purchased other brands like Clear American & Waterloo. Those two are my favorite but you will never know what you like if you don't try. This purchase of the bubly pineapple/coconut was really good. I'm really glad that a I purchase it I think would be great is to add pineapple chunk along with ice. Just to make it look pretty I highly recommend I hope you try something new everyday. The place was crazy busy because we already had one storm on Friday with another storm on the way. After that I went to the service desk and spoke to Rose. I ask her if they had any more leaf bags. She was fantastic and I did my grocery shopping. At check out, I did not get the cashiers name but she was excellent at her job and she got the supervisors to help. I gave the cashier my check, driver's license, phone number and signed the keypad. I think Walmart is flying its personal planes to India to recruit employees to work in all their stores in the U.S. They are rude, condescending and suddenly become white when they arrive, and take on the racist behavior of whites. One of the busiest super centers I've been to in MD. Can be a bit chaotic . The huge parking lot was close to 90% filled, which definitely a good thing for business, but the shop seems to try to pack in as much merchandise as they can by sacrificing the aisle space ...no 2 carts can go pass each other in the same aisle ‍ Halloween costumes aisles were especially messy and there was no one there to clean them up. They do have a good selections of Halloween bake goods decorations, worth to check out. read more

I took delivery of ordered products from Walmart tonight, which I came to learn was missing three products. Upon further inspection, I gained two bags full of vegetables and canned milk which I DIDN'T order. However, my name WAS on those two additional bags! I don't know why this happens. This isn't the first time. Is it that these employees can't read, are over worked, not paying attention, multitasking, or just don't care? This doesn't happen when I pick up curb side at the store... All I know is that I received someone elses products, and they received the remainer of mine... I called and received a credit for my missing things. Manos was very kind and helpful. This store has really stepped it's game up since the COVID-19 pandemic. The shelves are well stocked (even with essentials such as toilet paper and paper towels) and I was able to find every single thing that I needed in a single trip. The shelves were being actively restocked while I was shopping, but not in a way that it hindered cart and foot traffic (which has often been the case). I also appreciated that almost all of the check out lanes were open, which reduced time waiting in line, made it easier to practice effective social distancing, and kept the lines from spilling into the aisles and otherwise impacting other shoppers. The checkout process was fairly quick and the cashier was THE NICEST PERSON I have never met in this store. She so pleasant, so polite and she got me checked out in an impressively short period of time. Seriously, I broke a sweat trying to get everything in the belt and bagged up in order to keep up with her! During this very stressful time, something as simple as a smile and a pleasant demeanor go a long way and it means so much when the little social interaction you have with another person is pleasant. I'm very impressed with the improvements this store has made and I hope that they will ensure long after this pandemic has passed. read more

One word: Yikes This definitely is one of the more disorganized and unfriendly Walmarts I've ever been to. I particularly don't love coming here because I've had a pretty consistent experience... *Merchandise isn't where it's supposed to be *Merchandise isn't properly labeled with prices on the shelf *Most employees I encounter are not very customer service oriented (putting it in the best terms possible). While I was in line to check out, a customer came over from the Jewelry counter and asked one of the employees if he could have some help over in that department. The employee barked "There's no one over there." It wasn't a question. It wasn't: "There's no one over there?" It was a statement. The customer responds "I'd like to purchase some watches [from the locked display] can I get some help" The employee responds "I don't know" and walks away. I heard her start inquiring with some other employees if there was someone who would go over there, but just the general attitude and service was shocking. I came in to look for anti-viral face masks (which they were sold out of). But something I noticed when I was there and took a brief look around: they had received a shipment and it was placed all over the store, but many of the boxes were blocking aisles and other merchandise. I mean... I understand you need to restock the store, but this seemed more like they were setting up for the overnight restocking but just left all the merchandise all over the place during normal business hours. I went to the storage section to see if they had some good plastic totes: the answer was no. They had thin plastic Sterlite totes that crack as easily as eggshells. You do not want to be here during the Covid-19 pandemic or any day really. It didn't bode well as we drove up to the shopping center and saw the cars in the parking lot as if it was a regular Walmart shopping day on the weekend. First thing I noticed is that there were not any wipes or hand sanitizer for the carts, only a roll of bathroom paper towels. You know, the brown roll that comes out of the dispenser in the public bathrooms. It would have required touching the roll to tear off a sheet with no disinfectant so I didn't bother. I was safer with my plastic gloves. As we looked around the bake aisle, more and more people were shopping that aisle as well. Absolutely no social distancing was being practiced. So I did my part and left that aisle as it is was getting too crowded for my comfort. This was pretty much almost every aisle in the store. As we approached the self check out, I tried to stay 6 feet back while we waited for a register to open. There were no signs or physical markers (like cones) to tell people in line where to stand. I'm thankful that the person behind me did step back 6 feet. There also was no attempt to limit the number of people entering the store. We have a state-wide order to limit gatherings of 10 or more people. I know this is a super store. Staff in itself is more than 10 people but Walmart needs to do its part and limit the number of people during this pandemic. read more

A pretty big Walmart with a lot of different centers/amenities. It's part of a larger mall complex/area with a lot of big box stores that are located very close to a lot of the main roads in Germantown and to I-270 itself, making it very convenient to access. It didn't stand out too much otherwise but seems to have everything people would look for in a relatively easy-to-access location. read more

Walmart Online Service is a BigJoke! You're trying to be at par with Amazon, but your standards are trash! Ordered a small moving box 2-25packs 14x14x12 and got delivered after almost 2 weeks a wrong box, which is 17x13x11. Called the Customer Service last July 23,2021 and asked for Refund. I was told that they will send me return label within 24 hours. Then 5 days later, label is still not on my email, so, I went to actual Walmart store to return the boxes physically. Then lo and behold, the customer service in-store can not process because it says in their system that it's already returned. But, the question is...where is the returned fund on my card?!.. it's still not there?.. So... A) How in the world could you miss a 14x14x12 and give me a 17x13x11 when obviously the numbers are totally different! My orders are even numbers and you sent me odd numbers. B)Your Custoner service people are bund of idiots ang amateurs that they don't know what to do. While I'm at your store, I spent 1 hour on the phone talking to your online CSR, which is totally unacceptable. C) Your I.T.and whole online system needs to be fired and replaced because CSR insists that what is showing in their system is that I ordered the 17x13x11. Whereas in my Order Confirmation and Shipping Confirmation emails are all 14x14x12. What wizardry and diabolical things are happening to your multi-million dollar systems? D) Was told to just leave the boxes at the store with one of your customer service and was promised that I will get my refund within 24 hours. But until now, 48 hours later, it's still nowhere to be seen. D) so, not only Walmart as being incompetent and dubious, they are also thieves who won't give you back your money!!! This is the very reason why you can't even be as close as "Amazon"! I'm only giving you until today, if you don't give me back my refund I will report you to BBB and will write a formal complaint at the Maryland Attorney General for Consumer Affairs! I wish I could give it zero stars! This has been by far the worst online experience with grocery delivery. I contacted their 800 number who directed me to call the store that would be sending the delivery. I have yet to reach anyone at the store after 6 calls to ask about my delivery since it is now 5 1/2 hours late. I spent over 400 dollars and set a time since people in my household have jobs. Now no one is home and IF anything is even delivered, the groceries will sit outside of my home until I get off work tomorrow due to being a first responder that works 24 hr shifts! I don't know what I expected from Walmart but I only gave them a try because my Amex was offering some deals from them and I did need some items from the grocery store. One of the worst Walmart store on the East coast. Why? - Staff is unmotivated. They don't want to be bothered. - Can't get help in the ammo/fishing/sports section. The associates covering this section ALWAYS abandon their post. on Saturday 1/14/23 at 11:00am nobody could help. They couldn't find the keys to access the items in the locked display. We watched them scramble for 30min looking for keys. We just left. - Electronics display is empty. Was looking for airpods and non were displayed. I usually don't ask for help in stores. But I did this time and to my surprise, they had them hidden somewhere. If the Frederick MD Walmart can have them displayed, so can you. Figure it out. - Not a clean store at all. Always disorganized and missing inventory. management should visit neighboring Walmarts and observe, seriously. - Missing prices. You can't freekin find prices on too many items. They removed the price check machines so now you have to go though the long lines at the registers just to get a price. - Very few open registers even on busy days like Sat or Sun afternoon. I recently had a horrid experience with their "Customer Service" desk. I was informed by a Manager that I could come in and have a price adjustment done on an item. When I came in to get that adjustment, two employees - Kathy and Dhruba - insisted that they have not done price adjustments in years. I told them what the Manager told me, and Dhruba - I guess he's the Customer Service Manager - informed me that they still couldn't do it. He then proceeded to give me the WRONG number for corporate. Twice. After spending forever talking to their inept representatives on the phone, I finally had to go back into the store and back to the CS Desk. I asked Kathy if she could call the Manager of the store for me, and she said no. I would have to go find her myself. Way to do your job, Kathy. I can tell you hate working there. After finally tracking down a Manager named Raja, she heard me out regarding my issue and was FINALLY able to help me. She went with me to the CS Desk, and essentially forced Kathy to do the adjustment. When Dhruba saw what she was doing, he immediately began questioning it. She responded with "I'm just doing what Raja told me." He gave me a dirty look, and walked away after telling Kathy to only refund me with store credit. I declined the store credit, as I almost never shop there, and demanded a cash refund. After more fighting from Kathy, I asked if she wanted me to get Raja again, to which she responded "No, I'll get her myself." Needless to say, she made them give me my cash refund, which Dhruba was ALSO angry about. All while this was happening, there was an elderly woman walking around who quite obviously had mental issues. Kathy and her co-workers kept laughing at her, and making fun of her. I found this to be incredibly disturbing, especially since they were doing it so blatantly in front of customers. I know Wal Mart is probably the lowest tier of retail, and expectations should be at the bottom of the barrel, but honestly this store goes even lower. read more

This location is STILL under construction. Perhaps it's taking longer because the store is still open? I don't know, but a lot of the shelves are bare and if that are not bare, they are unorganized. For example, zip lock bags and pool floaties in the same aisle.... What?? I do want to return when the construction is complete because I like the idea of getting fresh food and electronics during the same trip. Apparently, irresponsible pet owners keep bringing pets to the store. They are abusing the system, and they give a bad name to all service dog owners (and responsible pet owners in general). A food retail store like Walmart is not a pet store, therefore untrained pets should not be in the store, or inside shopping carts, or inside handbags. For your information, emotional support animals do not qualify as service dogs because they are not trained. An untrained pet should not be in contact with food surfaces in a retail store selling food for humans. But my question is why the staff keeps ignoring this situation? read more

Auto care center is out of whack. I should never have brought my car here for a wheel balance. They told me it was done they told me I had one bent rim and I left. I got on the highway and it was shaking like crazy. I called and they kept putting me on hold so I gave up. The next day I called for 3 hours and got no answer. I finally drove up there and the auto care center was closed. Called the store and got a hold of a female manager that was dismissive then a male manager picked up and met me outside with one of the auto care people. They started asking me if there was something else wrong with my car and blah blah blah. I trained as an autotech for 2 years and have been working on cars for 16 years now. I'm not a regular customer that you can explain away your crappy work. They said there was nothing they could do and told me to go to Pep boys to get the balance corrected. I did. When we spun all 4 wheels on the balancer not a single wheel was bent as Walmart had claimed. 2 wheels were off by more than one ounce of weight, the third by .75 ounces and the fourth was only off by .25oz. The tech and I presume that Walmart does not calibrate their wheel balancer weekly as is standard practice. Now I paid double to another shop to correct this stores terrible work. read more

Ordered something then after 3weeks told me to cancel because they don't have it in stock. So I canceled it and is 2 months now going back and forth plus calling haven't received my money ! Thy took my money! Customer service is horrible! No one care! No more ordering from Walmart no more buying or going there! Horrible experience. read more

I should have known better to come to a Walmart, but when you aren't from an area you go where you know you can get everything you need in one stop. I had forgotten a few items so I had to face the beast. First and foremost for out-of-towners this is a hard place to find. Not necessarily the building, but where to enter the nightmare that is called the parking lot. When I finally did and made my way into the store you find that it's a massive one on the inside. Which made for a marathon sprint for the few items I needed. Once I did collect everything I needed I thought I would hit it quick at the checkouts and be on my way. Nope. They do have self checkouts, but not like other Walmarts. They only have them in one section in the middle of all the checkouts. Unlike other locations that have the self checkouts on the ends of the line of checkouts. Not wanting to walk back to the middle of the store I decided that I would use the express lanes since I only had a few items. How some people say there are long lines, yeah, there are long lines. Ironically it's not because there aren't enough people working the registers, but because customers can't count. I stood in line for about ten minutes because the lady in front of me had three separate orders of more than the allowed number items in the line. I know employees aren't allowed to say anything to them and that some people are just flat out ignorant. This lady had no regrets for her actions.
