Went there early yesterday morning, 8/14. There was an elderly employee stationed in the entrance usually to check the receipts are people are leaving the store. There was another woman that entered a little ahead of me. Well, this employee started barking at us that we had to wear a mask. Really? So, the other woman and I went back to the door to read the sign which reads "Masks Recommended ". He kept at us as we were walking into the store. Does he watch TV, or does he not know how to read. He actually was getting annoyed we didn't do what he said. Get somebody else to watch the door!!!!!! read more

"Walmarts are Walmarts" and while this sentiment has been reiterated by multiple reviewers, I think this one tends to be in a bit more disarray than others. The sheer number of customers that come through on a daily basis contribute to it I'm sure, but overall I feel that they don't do a good job of maintaining the aisles and keeping this orderly. The self checkout is always an absolute nightmare, and if it wasn't for the fact that its a bit faster than waiting on the long lines, I'd avoid it - the machines never seem to work properly I only come here for pre-packaged brand items (cereal, snacks, etc.) and avoid produce and meats here at all costs. If you've ever shopped at Adam' s (locally) you can absolutely tell the difference in quality. I hate to sounds like a snob, but it's worth spending a little extra for farm fresh local items and avoid the superstore chemically enhanced produce read more

I wish I could buy my ferret food from a different store that was closer to me. This place is the absolute worst. As you probably already know if you've ever been to this store, there is only ever 3 registers open at a time and the self checkout is pretty horrible too, when you have people going in there with full shopping carts and not knowing how to scan an item. If you can go to a different Walmart, do that. This place is the absolute worst. Also most of the staff is rude, unhelpful or just plain unknowledgeable. Save yourself the headache. read more

With hundreds of dollars charged every hour to customers for bottle deposits; I cannot recall a time when their return machines were functioning. And customer service won't accept them. Staff is wandering around in a daze or socializing in groups around the store, while several registers are not open and the wait time to check out is over a half hour. read more

This place can be quite spotty at times. I just came in here twice (on two separate occasions today) after dropping off some Uber riders, but when I went in the first time for two things (manilla folders and a bunch of plastic coathangers), I found the manilla folders all-right (bought en-masse at a better price than the half-that pack), but when I went to find the coathangers - that was a different story. I asked an employee where I could find 'em. They mentioned "Domestic", but there's no aisle labelled "domestic". I ended up checking the Walmart app (under in-store conditions) and I was found just a few aisles up from where I needed to be across the main sectionway from where I needed to be. (Glad Walmart's app had aisle numbers for these and a map to the section of the store they'd be found in.) But during that trip in, after checking out, I realized I needed to buy a pack of gum for my May 2019 airplane trip, and so took another purchase with the gum itself. However, after eating nearby (later) outside the store boundaries, I realized I had to make an unintended stop in for something else. I was unable to retrieve the other item, due to the Walmart app's fault in not giving me adequate results in my size and "style". I mean, I found what I could through browsing the store, but when I realized the pieces I found either weren't big enough for me (the "Husky" man) I knew I had to try elsewhere (only to find that the substitute was the same "style" and I decided to buy knowing their brand instead). During my last trip in to Walmart's here today, I had to use the bathroom. The bathroom too is looking a bit dilapidated. The one bathroom stall in the men's room doesn't have a lock or latch, and the other stall has a sticky lock with a broken latch-hinge to the closing mechanism. I'm just glad the toilet itself worked for it's intended purposes. I was able to wash my hands, but didn't even think about using the hand-dryer and my eyes got fixated on the paper towels to dry them off. read more

I love that they're open 24/7 and I love that they have everything, but waiting to check out could try the patience of a saint. However, now that they have the online grocery order, it's so much better! You can order everything online, drive over, park in one of 10 designated pickup spots and someone brings the groceries right to the car and loads them in for you! This service is a lifesaver! If I can avoid going inside and dealing with the craziness, especially on weekends, I'm doing that! Have had a few issues with the on line ordering not being ready on time, but for the most part, it's been a good experience and the people who bring out the groceries aare always friendly! read more

This Walmart store has improved 150% in recent years. Well stocked with a large selection of goods. It has a pretty decent organic fresh fruit and veggie dept. I see that Walmart is trying to keep healthy food in the forefront and stocking more of it. Staff is friendly and helpful. It is better to get to the store early in the day, especially on the weekends, to avoid the "crazy" Walmart crowds. Very happy to have this store nearby. One last thought regarding the bathrooms, I personally have never used them but then again I also do not use port of potties or bathrooms in fast food restaurants on Main Street, Poughkeepsie, because I just know it will be a bad experience. There are just some things in life that you know are not good. Maybe Walmart keeps the bathrooms a mess to keep the riff raff out....hello drug use haven or a place to have a baby??? : ) read more

The store is okay the prices are nice, however the road exits into and out of the store are horrible. Only one lane to exit or you have to drive down to Sams club and exit there. Very poor architectural design. read more

oooooh! this one had real cool bathrooms. they smelled bad enough to match the way they looked. also! half the shelves were empty. i went in to get some much needed fiber pills... cause i've been eating like a walmart customer... anyway, this place is a dump! i highly recommend visiting... i find that Walmart's are like "Live Museums" of the towns i visit. Go to the isle that sells water, and see if the only water bottles left are so far away that you can't reach them. while I was at self-chekout, I had over 6-7 boxes of ziplocs I bought. While packing them up, I was trying to sAve plastic bags so thought instead I will put it in the basket that was in my cart and transfer it to my car without having to use individual bags. The employee at the selfcheckout comes and freaks out at me that nooo you can't do that, it will be "stealing" if you take the basket.. I politely said no ma'm, I am just trying to save some bags so I will leave the basket in the cart don't worry. She forces the basket out herself from my cart and rudely takes the basket back. i mean really? I just bought $400 worth of stuff and you think I care to steal a dirty blue basket? I went there yesterday and let me tell you like everyone else has, the workers there are horrible!! You can tell they hate their job and the people who come in. I was waiting for 30 minutes for someone to come to the paint. I called twice since they don't have an intercom button, and the lady mumbled on the loud speaker after I spoke to her to summon an associate to come assist. I don't think anyone understood her. Then I over hear a coworker talking to a nice old man so poorly. He commented on how the isles was set up. Not meaning any harm by it, and she response with a disgusting attitude "I just work here." And she marched away. Are you effing kidding me?! I had a basket of stuff and decided to give my money to Home Depot. The people who work here and treat people with such disrespect disgust me. Christ, I truly loathe this establishment. From the creatures hailing from parts unknown that seem to surface to this place at any hour of the day, to the fact that there are about 30 lanes to check out on and they're usually only utilizing 6 of them, this place can fall off of the face of the earth and some wouldn't blink an eyelash. For that, I give this place one star. But my, oh my, are the prices low! For that, this place creeps (barely) into the two-star realm. The price of an in store item should match the price of the same item online - especially when you can order it online and pick it up the same day at this Walmart for the online price. What sense does this make. When I inquired about it with an employee all he said was "that's how things work around here." I grow to dislike this store more and more whenever I go I but its the only store that's open 24/7 so I don't have many options to work with. They've had 4 lines open since they built this place - I have never seen more than 8 open even on Black Friday. read more

I only shop at Walmart because the prices are good. But if they continue to have such bad service I will suck it up and pay more to shop elsewhere! The lines are always too long and today I went in to pick up a few things and when I checked out I asked the cashier to please not double the bags and to fill them up as much as possible. I explained I left my canvas bags in the car and I would transfer everything into those bags. She started putting a couple of items into each bag and doubling them. When I again asked her to please not double them and add more to each bag she told me she knows the bags better than I do. I should have made the line wait while I went to my car to retrieve my own bags but I didn't want the customers behind me to suffer any longer. OK rant over now. read more

Don't buy online and pick up from this store! The service was horrible! I went to this store to pick up some small items and there's nobody at the pickup counter. 5 minutes later a walmart employee passed by asked me if I'm being helped. I told her no, she said I need to click on the screen to call someone. I did that. Then after another 5 minutes another employee passed by asked me if I'm being helped. I told him I clicked the screen but nobody's coming out. He said he'd go in and check. He went in and came out 5 minutes later telling me the person who's supposed to be at the counter was doing some other chores(moving boxes). I asked him please go in and tell that person I've been waiting 15 minutes please come out and help me first. He went in, and disappeared. Then 10 minutes later yet another employee passed by asking me if I'm helped. At this time I'm plain angry and told her I'm NOT being helped. She said why don't you click on the screen? I told her I've been doing that in the past 25 minutes and each time the screen went out I click again and nobody comes out. She said she'd go call someone. Then another 5 minutes later the 2nd employee(a guy) came out telling me the person's still moving some boxes and should finish soon. I've been waiting for 30 minutes at this moment. Another 5 minutes later that lady who's supposed to help the customers at the pickup counter finally showed up. She is so overweight it's looks like she had great difficulty even walk. Her name is "Anita" on the name plate. I was angry so I told her I've been waiting for 35 minutes, and clicked the screen over 10 times nobody comes out. She said "oh that screen was broken". Well, no other employees said it's broken. Each and everyone of them said "you need to click on the screen and someone will come out". Either Anita is lying or everyone else is not notified of this malfunction. Plus, I asked that male employee to tell her I was waiting at the counter and she let me waited another 20 minutes before she showed up. The actual pickup took only 3 minutes. I can't understand why it's so hard for her to come out and help me first, then go back to her box moving? Maybe she doesn't want to walk to her customer then walk back to the boxes. I do understand for an extremely overweight person even 20 yards feel like a marathon. Then it must be her manager who's stupid. Why do you assign this very important job to someone who can't do it? Who rather knowingly let the customer wait and wait because she doesn't want to walk a short distance? To sum it up, do not pick up from this walmart. read more

So I went to Walmart this morning to buy some makeup and found everything locked up with sign to get a staff member to help you. Of course there was none to be found so I walked to the check out center and told an associate that I needed help, he forwarded me to another long walk to the front desk where there was one person who told me to go yet somewhere else for help!!! REALLY? for mascara???!!! I have spent 100's of dollars on make up and many other items over the 17 years I have lived here. Walmart has made it too difficult to shop there. March 12 everyone was in panic mode at Walmart. I had previously arranged a huge ordere for Pickup. I cannot say enough good things about the Support Manager that assisted me at Walmart Pickup. Her name was Essie, and her whole team and her were terribly backlogged (so the wait was understandable) yet they met me with Smiles and apologies, and support. This walmart has been my go to for many decent items. I grew up going here. But after realizing how terrible their service is i will never come back. The last straw was me (a junior in college) simply trying to purchase a cheap desk to get me through the semester. I called from home after the website said the product availability was unknown. I got a young man on the phone who once i informed i needed to look up availability on an item, put me through to another dept. After about 15 mins on hold a lady answers, i tell her the same thing and she put me through to the correct dept. About 10 minutes of me being on hold yet again, goes by. And guess what?? The young man answers. LOL im not making this up. I tell him my need yet again and just before be puts me on hold for god knows how long i stopped him and got into extreme detail about what i need. "I mean really? Youve got a computer right in front of you just type in the product number that i gave you". So he says ok and instantly puts me on hold...great. About another 10 mins goes by (at this point i could of just driven there and checked myself). He takes me off hold and says his manager says their in stock. Now myself having been lied to many times before by walmart associates over the phone, i asked if i could speak to his manager about the outrageous wait time. He says yes and you guessed it!!....he puts me on hold...REALLY?? 5 minutes later he answers and says she left for the day. I started asking for his name and other questions and yes.. he randomly puts me on hold mid sentence. After almost 25 mins on hold i felt it was safe to assume he would not answer again. I decided to go down to the walmart mainly to address this situation. Regardless of the fact this item was NOT in stock, the manager was there and said there was nothing she could do about this situation because i never got the name of the guy on the phone. Iv encountered many situations like this with them. TERRIBLE service over the phone and in store and TERRIBLE wait times. On floor associates are basically non existent. You would think theres only 3 people working the store. Will never go back. They dont even deserve the one star read more

5 stars for Walmart. 5 stars for the prices, growing organic selection, and savings catcher. But I have to take one star off for the typical "bad Walmart" issues like clearly poor management, price tags missing, occasional stocking issues (WAY better than it used to be!!), sluggish front end and a worry that if anything goes wrong there is either nothing to be done, or a long-ass wait. And one star off for the fact that thanks to the stupid county and local towns won't allow the 2-3 more necessary Walmarts to serve the population so everyone including travelers aren't forced to have to go here or to Newburgh. For that reason, the clientele and store is a borderline disaster. read more

I spent 15 minutes shopping, picked out 5 Items, waited in the express line for 30 minutes, arrived at the register only to be told that their system was down, and had been for some time. The cashier told me to try my card anyway, and then asked me to try a different card when it immediately failed. Their products are terrible, their employees are less friendly and/or helpful then other shoppers (with a few rare exceptions, and if you're one of those you deserve a better job please go find one and stop selling your life to these awful corporate vampires). Don't waste your money or your time. You'd be better off picking though a garbage dump, at least some of the rats there might be more friendly. read more

This place was terrible went to get my granddaughter a bike for her birthday they was out of stock. Well walking down Isle was fluid on the floor that I didn't see n slipped on it. When calling the store a little later more than 6 times no one answered phones. The paharmacy here is terrible. Had transfered a prescription online and recieved an email saying my prescription was ready and that I coupd pick it up. Went there and said they had to call the other walmart I had it transfered from. Had to wait 20 minutes just to be told they didn't have my prescription and that I could get it monday. I don't understand how I can be told it's ready one day then be told I have to wait for it. read more

Walmarts are Walmarts for the most part, but this one is a little better due to its size. This being a Super-Walmart, you have a grocery store along with the usual Walmart store. The drawback to having the grocery part is that it causes some confusion as to where products are, such as cleaning products, in layouts you may be used to from other single function stores. read more

Visited the vision center in this store. To be upfront, I don't know if the vision center employees are Walmart employees. However, if they are not, Walmart should still be responsible for what goes on there. The staff were nice. But not nice enough to overcome the horrible customer service. I was there in the afternoon on Saturday and it was busy. Busy but not crowded. I stood at a counter waiting to be acknowledged by the staff. No one ever came to me and asked me if I needed help. Finally, I just approached a member of the staff. I was told that someone would be with me shortly. A few more minutes of no help and I got frustrated. So I gave someone a look and I put my hands up like "what the hell?" Finally, someone came over and asked me what I needed. I then filled out a form and waited for an exam. That was fine. Then time for frames...and MORE WAITING with no guidance from the staff. I just waited around until I again had to ask for help. Again, the staff is nice. I think the operation is probably OK when it's early. But when the place gets busy, the operation falls apart. The vision center needs a dedicated customer service desk to help keep things organized. read more
