Granted I've not shopped at many other Kroger stores here in Louisville, I have shopped at enough to know that this one has more than any I've personally been to. People here were super friendly as far as the associates go. Could use some more self checkout machines and a few more human checkouts as well but outside of that I've been. Etsy pleased with coming here the few times that I have. I really dig the olive bar along with the Murphy's cheese stand which offers a big variety of cheese that I've never even heard of before. I'll say that the environment is that of your typical Kroger but I'd say much busier considering it's on Bardstown Road and close to downtown Louisville so come expecting it to be a very bustling shopping experience. I definitely recommend shopping at this location as I wasn't hassled by anyone and especially not while I was leaving.

I had one of the most frustrating customer service experiences I've had in a long time at Sam's…read moreClub. I had a tire repair appointment and realized I was going to be about 30 minutes late. Before making the drive, I tried calling the tire center to let them know and see if they could still accommodate me. I sat on hold for over 10 minutes and never got through to anyone. Since I couldn't reach the department, I drove to the store anyway. I'm a disabled customer whose mobility varies from day to day. Depending on the situation, I may use one cane, two canes, a wheelchair, or a motorized scooter. When I arrived, I used one of the store's motorized scooters to get from the entrance to the tire center. After making the trip, I was informed that because I was late, they would not be able to service my vehicle. While I understand that appointments have schedules, it was incredibly frustrating knowing that a simple phone call could have saved me the drive and effort had someone actually answered the phone. Unfortunately, that wasn't even the worst part of the experience. After learning my tire would not be repaired, I attempted to return the motorized scooter near the entrance closest to my vehicle. My car was parked directly across from that entrance, making it the safest and shortest walk for me. An employee stopped me and insisted that I take the scooter all the way around to a different exit that was significantly farther away from my vehicle. I explained multiple times that I am disabled, that I use a cane, and that my car was literally right in front of me. I wasn't shopping, carrying merchandise, or attempting to misuse the scooter. I simply wanted to take the most accessible route back to my vehicle. Despite this, the employee continued arguing with me and repeatedly insisted that I walk the longer distance. What made the interaction even more upsetting was the complete lack of empathy. As someone who is still working hard to regain mobility and independence, being told to walk farther when a closer accessible option was right in front of me felt incredibly dismissive. Several customers nearby appeared just as confused by the interaction as I was. This experience wasn't just inconvenient--it was disheartening. Accessibility isn't just about having scooters available; it's about treating disabled customers with understanding, respect, and common sense. Between the tire center not answering its phones and the way I was treated afterward, I left feeling frustrated, embarrassed, and unwelcome. I hope management takes this feedback seriously because no customer should leave feeling the way I did, especially one who is already navigating physical challenges just to get through their day.

After working all day, I went…read morethere tonight to get some cat and dog food and unfortunately because I had my headphones and I was not able to check out anything. I literally got up to the front cash registers before it even switched from midnight to 1201 and I was refused to even get anything and I'm just overall really disappointed. Like I understand policy is policy, but there was still someone checking out at the self check out, and both of the workers had logged out of their personal registers before that person was even done checking out. I just feel like that is irresponsible. What if there was an issue with the order and from a company perspective that is just really not customer service friendly. I would understand if I got up to the front after closing, but I literally got up there when I was supposed to and I still was not allowed to check out and I was really excited to get those treats for my cat and my dog because I've been working all day and there's literally nowhere else to go. I usually only go to Meijer for doing orders or because it's the only place open late. That's a full grocery store. It is very pricey. I don't feel like it's as cheap as other grocery stores and now that other stores are open till 11. I will just go there because the way that I felt tonight there wasn't even an apology from any of the workers or anything so I don't want to put any more money in this business.

In…read moremy experience in the past it felt more like a closeout shop, not entirely unlike the Land of Misfit Toys, where things that weren't wanted by someone else ended up. For years I found their stock unreliable and of varying quality, so it would generally be the last place I'd go when looking for something. But that was then. I don't know what kind of magic has happened in the last 10 to 15 years, but Big Lots has improved *ahem* lots! Stores are cleaner than I remember, stocks are shelved.....strike that...reverse it....moving on. Merchandise quality seems to have improved. What brought me to this location was my combination Birthday/Christmas gift from my wife (I have a December birthday). I've got a recliner that we call my "Dad Chair" that is at least 15 years old, probably closer to 20. It's tired and she said "we need to replace the Dad Chair". Wifey is great at research and we visited a couple other furniture outlets before we got to Big Lots. Nothing really worked for me at the other places, then we went to Big Lots. I was impressed with the furniture selection at this location. I was not expecting thar much variety. I tried out every single recliner in the place and settled on one pretty quickly. Britt helped us through the sale process, which was amazingly easy. Then she told us where to meet her around the side of the building to get the chair, which was still in the box. By the time we drove around back she was waiting there with the chair. Since the box was, like, enormous, we had to take it out of the box to put it in my car. Britt helped with that, too, unboxing that chair like a champ and even assisted getting it into the car. I was 100% impressed with this Big Lots experience and with Britt, who was very personable and very funny.
