This is a brand new Publix. I believe the 3rd here in Louisville. When vacationing in Sarasota/bradenton Florida, Publix is the go to grocery store. Prices are a little higher than Kroger but tbh every Publix I have gone to is always super clean and the employees are super nice and helpful. This makes up for the prices being a little bit higher than Kroger. The Publix on flat rock is definitely the same as all the other stores. Unfortunately all three stores in Louisville are in the east end so most of Jefferson county would have to drive quite a distance to get to these stores. I would shop at Publix every time I needed groceries if it was closer to me. When I do shop there I love the selections stocked. However, I must say the number one thing that I love about Publix is the fact they staff baggers for every cashier. If there isn't a bagger they are usually helping the customer before me out to their car. You don't get that kind of service anywhere that I know of. read more

First pub sub experience--I don't have a publix very close to me so I don't think I'd drive out of my way to get a sandwich, but I'll def get again when I'm in the area. The line was long at 1030a on a Saturday. The staff at the deli were friendly. They didn't have any tuna at the counter but she looked in the back and got it for me. All I've heard from friends and coworkers is get the sub! So... I did just that and let me tell you the hype was worth it. For $11 you can get the largest sub imaginable, I could barely finish half. Toppings were fresh and service was friendly/fast. I also tried a few wings from the hot bar. Everything was delicious! The store was clean and well stocked. read more

Not only was the counter person slow, no others were helpful, I Problably won't be getting anything else from that deli. This was an amazing addition to Kentucky and I greatly appreciate you Publix. Publix has a very high customer service, and grocery standard. The staff is the most hands on I've ever seen in a grocery chain, and they pride themselves on that. Customers first, is the Publix way, and it's shown in every action through their buildings! Their coffee/smoothie bar is phenomenal and I always am sure to make a stop there when I shop. And you cannot go to Publix without trying a Publix Sub at least once! Been shopping at Publix for years when I travel to Atlanta. Excited it finally came to Kentucky. Their customer service is the tops, everyone smiles and try to assist you several times though-out your shopping trip. The cashier noticed my right arm was in a wrap and offered to have someone load our groceries to our car. I declined but appreciated the offer. This franchise is employee owned so everyone has a invested interest to go the extra mile. Prices are higher but service goes a long way we me. The produce is so fresh looking and inviting. They have unique station like popcorn, beverages and others. On their website you can find BOGO deals on several items. The place is spotless like a palace. Had a Berry Mojito drink. It was refreshing and a healthier choice compared to a regular soft drink. There's plenty of tables for you to sit. There's also a bar where you can have a beer and watch TV (the TVs have caption). The workers are nice, restrooms were clean. They also had a family only bathroom. I stopped in the store two days after the grand opening. It will be a great addition to an area that lacks a variety of grocery store options. They have great selection of produce, meats, cheeses, seafood, made to order foods, popcorn bar, soup/salad bar. The staff was plentiful and was mostly directing people to where things were located within the store. Prices are higher than Kroger but not too bad. I am looking forward to shopping here. I went to Publix on Ballardsville rd. Thanksgiving week and bought a beef tenderloin. Although expensive it was a nice piece of meat. Discussed beef prices with Gage. I misunderstood the prices we discussed concerning Christmas week. He quoted me a price but failed to mention the bone-in process. He just explained that he would remove the bone then reattach it to sale it. This made absolutely no sense to me other than the misconception of getting a great price on a whole ribeye only to be told oh by the way here's a chunk of it that you can give to a dog. Nice place, nice people but I'm not driving across town to buy meat and be charged for the bone. read more

I found myself the day before a baby shower without a cake. I called the Terra Crossings store and the amazing Heather made magic happen with a cake in less than 24 hours! I was able to meet the artist who decorated, but cannot remember her name, although to describe she is a beautiful, talented Latina. I've only been to Publix a few times (most of them when traveling to Florida), so when I saw they were coming to Louisville I thought: A) YAY! (the few times I shopped at a Publix it was always great) and B) GOOD, because Kroger really needs competition. We've visited 4 or 5 times now and I'm thankful the chaotic nature (we went the week after it opened) is MUCH better now. Those first few weeks it was a madhouse. This Publix is enormous and well laid out. And it's new. It's not a grocery store that took over an older facility. Likewise the parking lot is logically laid out and I love that their cart corrals aren't metal bars that get pushed out of place by big-ass trucks. I love that that they have a café upstairs and little niche specialty areas. A little bakery here. Hot food here. It's a nice concept that I wish more supermarket chains would embrace. Hy-Vee does a remarkable job of it. I see that Publix has their own brand of just about everything, as well as some other not-usually-found-in-this-area brands, which is always nice. The Publix branded items we've purchased have been near National Brand level in quality/taste/etc. The staff has been great and helpful. Once I pulled a box of something off the shelf and took it to the register, only to find out that it's been recalled, so I couldn't buy it. Nice touch! The produce department is 100% amazeballz. Well maintained, nicely arranged, colourful, and a great variety of freshness. I find Publix prices aren't exactly a bargain. One the whole, I find their prices on just about everything we normally buy to be a bit -- and some noticeably -- higher. Publix isn't close or convenient to J-Town, so shopping their is either an effort or a matter of convenience when we're in the area. I rather enjoy the experience and the fact that it's NOT Kroger. Taking into consideration that a recent shopping trip was roughly 9% higher than we normally shop makes it OK that it's not the most convenient place for me to shop. read more

So excited that Louisville got a publix!! As a Florida-native, it's always my go-to. The BOGO deals are great bc you don't have to buy 2. The sandwiches are a staple for lunch. Don'tget me startedon the mojo rotisserie chicken. I love that they have the cafe at this location. I don't live in Louisville but I love that I can order cakes for when our family gets together. (We've done this in multiple locations in different states without any issues). It was my mom's 80th birthday so I ordered the caramel pecan crunch cake. When I went to pick it up, it didn't have a greeting but the nice woman quickly put happy birthday on it. It was soooo rich & full of pecans. We had 9 people & it took a week to get through. It had a little bit of a coffee hint. My only complaint is that Publix has removed several of their decadent cakes that we've ordered in the past. Otherwise, if you want an amazing cake that will be the talk of your party, you gotta order from Publix! read more

This store is one of their largest in the system and it is so beautiful. They have a great deli with a very helpful staff. The produce is the nicest and freshest I've ever seen. There is a very large Bakery area with lots varieties of fresh baked bread. One of my favorites is the fresh Seafood area. Everything looks just freshly caught. My favorite spot here is Pours. We tried 4 drinks, chai latte, cafe con Leche, citrus mule and black raspberry mojito. All were very affordable and the flavors were top notch. As someone that loves ice, they also have a fountain drink if regular sofa is your adventure. They also have a protein shake option, which I will try for next time since have an avocado option on the list. Their deli was terrible though. We were in line and decided to order on their app to be able to shop and avoid the line. Our order was 1 hour late and it had missing options such as extra meat, flavoring, sauce, bread and how we wanted it to be warm sandwich. Then, we cam back for the second time and again breads and meats were sold out. read more

I enjoy going to Publix. I'm from the south and missed this store. I saw that they had crab cakes for 3.99 and went there early on a Saturday morning ( 8:15 AMish). I was trying to miss the Saturday crowd. I was disappointed to see that the fresh seafood area was not open yet. I was done shopping at 9:40ish and they were setting up the seafood area. I was going to ask the seafood attendant what time they were going to officially open because I had seen them while shopping putting out the seafood. I pretended to shop for about 10 additional minutes but she didn't emerge from the back. Saying all this to say don't go early and expect to get seafood. I will definitely be back though. It's about time! I waited for all the hype to die down to visit. I'm from the south and absolutely love Publix. This Publix did not disappoint. The store was very clean and organized. Staff was very nice and welcoming. I really appreciate that they have a ky local section. I went to the store earlier in the morning so the hot bar and salad bar wasn't set up yet, but I was able to get one of their infamous sub sandwiches. Delicious!! They have a Pour bar too (Sip while you shop). My bagger pointed out that there was an area upstairs as well to eat my sub if I wished. Highly recommend this extra quality and extra friendly store. ALWAYS WACH FOR BOGO offers. Price can be a tad higher, but you will remeber the service and quality long after. The store brings all its bells and whistles to the new market in Louisville. You want good fresh sushi, premium meat cuts, Boars Head deli meat you are in the best spot. Now, wait for it.... they have a little draft beer station that allows you to shop and sip. YES!!! Coffee is excellent and Smoothies are excellent. There is a dinning area up stairs with a nice relaxing spot to people watch and eat yummy prepaid food items. YUM! This store rivals all the other Publix stores currently being only one of two of its type. LUCKY US!! 200% not going to miss you know who, the new kid is in town bringing their A game. I've stopped here twice in the past 2 weeks to get sub sandwiches- only 2 times I have been here. The first time my girlfriend and I both ordered a chicken tender sub... the guy made hers and then told me they were out of chicken tenders. So l asked for meatball sub - OUT of that too (it was only around 6pm)... we just got her sandwich and left. Tonight I went back to get us each a chicken tender sub. I'm going to be honest I have a sentimental value to Publix. My family and I lived in Florida for a few months when I was a kid and so we were at Publix all the time. It was just always such a great shopping experience with great produce, great baked goods, and great subs. Publix was the place to go. Most of my life, I have lived in Kentucky which means that we never had a Publix until now. Kentucky got his first Publix in January 2024. I've never been so excited for a grocery store to open. I waited a few weeks for them to get their bearings before I actually visited. It was a magical experience. It may be the first time I've seen a Publix, offering Kentucky Derby glasses, and hats actually. I was welcomed into the store by flowers and the sale items which offer some fantastic buy one get one free options. They've expanded out their food options to include subs, pizza, Tex-Mex, sushi, and the bakery is constantly making fresh bread, cupcakes, cookies, and other items. The aisles are all very well stocked. There's even a seafood section. I found a variety of items that I haven't seen in years. The Publix brand options were also excellent options when it came to ice cream. I also appreciated that they had a café inside where you can get coffee or even beers it was really an excellent experience for shopping. read more

This store is the grocery store of your dreams. Gorgeous, spacious, immaculately clean, and bursting with friendly and helpful employees. I went all out for my first visit. I waited patiently in the very long Pub Sub line but it was worth it! My chicken tender sub was exploding, hot, fresh, and oh so delicious. The upstairs sitting area is wonderful! Then I grabbed a cart and started making my way through the store. Every few feet I was in awe. Every shelf is fully stocked. The produce was glowing and so appealing. Bakery items looked fantastic and fresh. Hot prepared foods and sushi couldn't be made fast enough. They have virtually any brand name you could want and so many options. Sauces, soups, international items - I'm ecstatic to see it all! It may seem to some like prices are higher but I think they are fair and actually skew lower than Kroger. And then you have the employees. Obviously a lot of them have been brought here to launch the store (and I hope they stay!!) but it's so refreshing to experience warm customer service. Everyone had a smile ready and was happy to chat or offer assistance. Shopping at this store truly is a pleasure. I'm SO happy Publix is here and I will never shop anywhere else now. read more

Good place to get fresh produce. Has so many items to pick from. Fun to walk around and see all the items they have. You can get BOGO on a lot of things. Good chicken already to eat. Good price on Mahi-Mahi and had great flavor. I bought a piece of chicken to eat for later and got home and found out it was a chicken thigh instead of breast. Its 8 degrees F, a Monday in mid-January and a day off, we make attempt two at getting in the new Publix in Louisville. Yesterday, we tried and after one circuit of the overflowing parking lot we diverted home. Today the lot was pretty normal from a capacity perspective, maybe the overnight half inch snow panic had an impact. We have been to Publix in Florida and on the west coast, so this wasn't our first rodeo there. I will say this Publix has the previously visited ones beat, hands down. Lots of nice amenities you don't see anywhere else in Louisville, a coffee and draft beer bar, a fresh popcorn station, a very nice and very busy deli. Plenty of help in all areas of the store. Shelves fully stocked, neatly arranged and people restocking said shelves almost down every aisle. Every employee encountered was personable and smiling. That is a variance on a more common theme around these days in groceries and food establishments, where angry, grumpy or no thank you is a standard operating plan. Publix has some great offerings in freshly made baked goods, seafood and meat. They may need to consider electronic deli ordering, the line there to get a sandwich was pretty long, obviously the objective is worth the wait. There was self-checkout available working smoothly, real staffed-with-people lanes open with employees that know how to converse and make a customer feel appreciated. As we were in the vestibule getting prepped for the blast-o-cold outside a worker asked if she could help us outside to our car, or could take our basket in. We didn't get a lot, but that act is a sign of a company that has things right. Glad to see a grocer doing things old fashioned, and maybe compelling competitors to not rest on their laurels and step up their game. Then again, they probably won't, settling for the all too familiar and more profitable lowest denominator of average.
