I'm not sure why I've never reviewed nor checked in to this Kroger. I always go here when I'm in town. Anyway, I love how it's organized and it's fun to see high school kids working here. Some of them seem tired while others seem to enjoy it. Customer service is pretty good. Sometimes they greet you, other times not so much. It's a busy location though. The parking lot can get really chaotic. I try to park over by the spirits, since most people park near the other entrance to the building. It's so noticeable to me now seeing that we keep the spirits in a separate area in which it has its own entrance. In some states, wine and any kind of alcohol is out in the open. There's no separate room. Anyway, If you come early in the morning, it's not so busy. I remember coming after work on weekdays and it would be slammed! So many people! I love the self check out lanes. It's quick and easy!

Excellent customer service coupled with reasonable prices make this supermarket a wise choice. Easy to quickly stop and leave.

This Kroger is near to where we live on the northeast end of town and I am truly impressed by the store and how convenient it is. I am not a fan of this daylight savings time change, but it's part of life and needed to get creamer for coffee this morning along with a few other items that we needed. Upon walking into the store, to the left, there is the floral department and right near to the floral department is a Starbucks which allows shoppers to get their favorite cup of Joe and walk around the store. I think it's a pretty neat idea to have a coffee shop in grocery stores as that enhances the shopping experience. The store has a nice deli/cheese area with the Murray Cheese and that area was fully stocked. Coming in on an early Sunday morning, I noticed that the associates were busy restocking shelves or doing resets. Also, some associates were helping fulfill orders for ClickList (the unique feature Kroger offers to better assist busy customers). The store recently underwent a renovation and it looks great. Customer service is top notch and just wanted to give a shout out to my cashier (Gloria). She was very pleasant and I admired how she wished every customer to have a Blessed day. I think many times we get caught up in the busyness of life that sometimes we forget to just be humble and give thanks to God. Recommend this Kroger to anyone in the Northeast corner of town and make sure to shop well to get Kroger points which can be redeemed for fuel purchases. Also, their gift card selection was quite impressive. As it is March and the NCAA tourney is coming up, they had a display of Coach Calipari in the entrance for all the UK basketball fans.

At Webb's you can get your dry goods, but otherwise it's a very pleasant departure from that model. First and foremost, there is the deli counter in back and the lunch patio. They serve both breakfast sandwiches as well as deli sandwiches. If you pick up your breakfast or lunch to-go, they make everything to order and it's always very quick. Deli smoked sausage sandwich? $2. Country fried steak sandwich? $3. Biscuits 69 cents. Hot wings, beans, chili, mac & cheese, mashed potatoes, cornbread. Want a can of beer with your lunch? That's $1. Webb's is also reasonably stocked with decent produce, which is great since there is no supermarket in Phoenix Hill. So if you want to pick up a couple of tomatoes or onions or bell peppers, you generally can count on getting them here. Webb's received a federal grant to provide equipment and support to carrying healthy items as part of the city's "Healthy in a Hurry" program, and this is the result. (The last time I looked in the produce section, they did have a bunch of girl scout cookies stuffed in there as well, but hey, you need to wash down that lettuce with something, no?)

For TWO DOLLARS (yes kids, not a typo) you can get yourself lunch. You will want to pony up an extra dollar though, for cheese (50 cents) and "dressing" i.e. lettuce, tomato, mayo, etc (50 cents). Still, even with chips and a drink, that's a five buck lunch. And where can you get that kind of a deal anymore?? I got a turkey sandwich, with american cheese, lettuce, tomato, and mustard on wheat bread. And I'll tell ya, its nothing sophisticated but it was pretty darn good. I would definitely come back - they had fried chicken and fried cod that looked delicious! Oh one other thing - Webb's does accept credit cards, but you need to have at least a ten dollar purchase, otherwise they add 25 cents onto your bill. Maybe you care about that, maybe not. Just thought I would put it out there.

I was concerned the ads might be a bit and switch, but there was plenty of product available. I snared quite a few bargains. And I grilled one of the porterhouse steaks tonight and the quality of the beef was excellent. As for the rest of the store, inventory is limited. Some empty shelves, limited selection, and most items are roughly 50¢ to 1$ more than a chain store. The locals have to pay for the convenience. I found it frustrating that many items weren't clearly priced. Particularly in produce. Also, OTG has its own off street parking lot for convenience. Is this an every day shopper? No. But sale prices provide a great reason to shop.

You know that scene from The Simpsons where Grandpa Simpson walks into a brothel, sees his grandson Bart, turns around and walks back out of the door? I kind of wanted to do one of those numbers upon entering Olde Towne Grocery. But I persisted, because I do love checking out local grocery stores when I'm visiting a new area. This one looked like it could have been so much better, but instead it was sad. Empty grocery shelves just give off a depressing feeling, you know? That said, the items that were on the shelves were arranged neatly, so there's that. There was very little produce, and what was there was just the hardy stuff that lasts a long time, like potatoes and onions. The meat counter did not look like it was in commission anymore. I guess a sparse grocery store in a neighborhood is better than no grocery store, right?
