I especially have found success in the women's shoe and winter coat selection. This year I found very high end winter coats discounted at the end of the season. Also, when I am in need of comfortable shoes for work that are classy or for more high end events, I go here. Across from the probably more visible shoe section with more flashy shoes is a shoe section with more comfortable shoes. These range in price, but it can be worth investing in more expensive shoes if looking to wear them a lot. I have never been to Dillard's to be measured for a bra before. I'm not sure why I've waited so long. I took my daughter there to be measured and the experience was very helpful and detailed. The lady who assisted us was thorough in detail about sizes, cup, and proper fitting. I could tell she had been trained in bra fitting. Other places I've been they just use the tape and bring you that size. At Dillard's they asked about preference, they went and selected several bras that would meet our preference and gave advice on each. I was thoroughly pleased with this service. The lady's name began with an A, she appeared to be young adult in age. I hate that I forgot because she was surely nice. I thanked her on the day but I would like to give my kudos here. I went on May 8th around 345/4 if that helps, to the Dillard's in St. Matthews. She did a great job! We ended up leaving with 2 bras and a garment bag to wash them. Now I will say that the prices are very high than what I typically pay. I pray they last awhile. read more

It takes a lot for me to leave a negative review. I called to check and see if they had a specific duffle bag in stock. The customer service rep was extremely rude and sarcastic from the jump. Acted as if it was my fault that she didn't know where to transfer me, and ended the call by saying, " OK fine I guess I'll just send you to a random department" I get it, working customer service at Dillards isn't the ideal path in life. But maybe let's get somebody on the phone who has a tad bit of decency towards a calling customer. read more

The ladies that work the makeup counter will scatter if you look lost or may need help. Tried to do a return, woman tried redirecting me to the actual department ( this has never been a problem at any other Dillards I have been a patron) saying her machine was down or that she wasn't sure where it was supposed to be. Lo and behold.. the woman she was helping before me made three item out of department returns and she TRIED to turn me away with mine. Once I called this out, her register all of a sudden worked. How absolutely lazy of her. Also, There is another woman in the formal department for women's is "helpful" but not without adding slight remarks which made for a very uncomfortable visit. Dillard's is located in Mall St Matthews and for years has been located in two places within the mall. One building holds womens/kids and the other holds mens/home. The brands are well known and several designer names have been available here for years. Their variety allows them to offer something for everyone. People also enjoy hunting for a deal on the clearance racks. On my last visit I took a friend to the mens selections. The store was extremely tidy and there was an associate readily available for every department. Their employees are required to dress upscale, including suits and ties. I assume each associate earns commissions (or at least a higher hourly wage) for sales in their section. Years ago I worked at a different location and this was the pay structure for me back then. For ladies looking for cocktail to formal dresses, make Dillard's a stop on your shopping trip. read more

I love Dillard's and shop here often. Lately I've been very dissatisfied about returns having to go back to the department they were purchased in. I entered the home department the day after Christmas with 30 minutes to shop before the store closed. I had to return and they made me walk all the way down to the women's department, which left me no time to shop the Christmas sale. read more

Do not go to this store if you are wanting Dior, as the sales associates are incredibly bad. First time I was sold a tester, even after I said that I was willing to wait for the product to be sent. She then argued that it was the right color, and it ended up having to be returned. Dillards in Lexington almost refused my return as it was an out of package tester. Then I went to do a return that I had an allergic reaction to~products had not been used, as I had a problem after a make over. I was told that Dior "treats allergies" and that if I took better care of my skin that I wouldn't have allergies. she then flat out asked me "don't you want something for your spots?" Um, no, as I started using Kiehls and have been having success using said products. just because I go in there with no make up on doesn't give you the right to say what you want about my skin. I used to use Dior religiously but where I previously lived the counter left, and I went to other brands. I then developed allergies as many of their products contain strong fragrances and natural ingredients. I do not want to go back to that store to shop. I find them rude and incompetent. read more

When it comes to department stores, Dillard's is up there in my top 5. I pretty much think of it as the "classy" JC Penney. The Dillard's in St. Matt's mall is so big, they have two separate stores for it. One is primarily men's clothing though so I just stick to this one. Dillard's carries a lot of my favorite brands, like Michael Kors, Kate Spade, Betsey Johnson, and a lot of other popular names. For the most part, everything is usually very clean and organized. I'm not a big fan of their junior's department though, because everything is kind of all over the place and not organized very well. Their prices are a bit more up there, but they do have higher quality clothing than a lot of other department stores. read more

This is a very nice store located in Mall St. Matthews. I took my wife there today because they are having a summer close out sale on all their women's clothes. She found some nice bargains at really good prices especially on name brand stuff. We have always preferred Dillard's over Macy's. I have had the hardest time trying to get service in the Dillards for years I believe that they are trained not to service the Black people. black lives do not matter at this Dillards and I can never come in and just make a payment. Either their computer doesn't work they don't know how to take my payment are they just want me to go to somebody else to make my payment I would totally cancel my card if my mortgage lender didn't feel like it would mess up my credit. When I try to talk to Customer Service or Manager they say anybody should be able to take your payment everybody can take your payment that is misleading. read more

The Dillard's in The Mall on Shelbyville Rd. was always a great place to shop. Neat, clean and lots of merch. But it became even better for me. Why? Ken & Janice & Phillip. Who are they, you say? Apparently, this store puts profits before people. They are still open, even having a 25% off cosmetics sale, despite the governor requesting all public facing businesses to close to help flatten the curve of the coronavirus. I spoke with the manager, George Tanner and asked him why he was still open. His response was because Nordstrom's was still open. Governors office will be contacted about this. News media have already been notified and this irresponsibly dangerous behavior is being made known via social media. Shame on them and anyone who has been asked by the governor of Kentucky to do the right thing. If anyone wishes to speak with the manager, his extension is 5000. I've always picked Macy's over Dillard's but those days are over. I was looking for an outfit to wear to an interview and Macy's was all jumbled and no one would help me. I spent 2 hours then gave up and went to Dillard's where people all over the store helped me: I found the PERFECT suit in 15 mins, then a top to go under it with 2 people helping me. Then the lovely people at the Armani makeup counter spontaneously gave me an incredible makeover with no sales push. Great experience! read more

I had a terrible experience with a surly saleswoman in the formal dress department at the Dillard's in Mall St. Matthews. I went to the Dillard's with my hair pulled back and no make up on. I have seen so many dresses on the rack with make up around the neck. I wasn't going to be that girl. I was shopping for a special dress for my son's wedding. Dillard's always has a great selection of elegant formal dresses. The salesclerk after asking me if she could bring any other dresses to the fitting room told me the dress I was trying on was too short for me and made me look washed out and blah! To say I was shocked at her unkind comments would be an understatement. The dress was my favorite of all I had tried on. I wrapped up my business with Negative Nancy and left the store. I decided to drive to the Dillard's in Jefferson Mall and I am SO glad that I did! I was greeted by several very friendly ladies who just wanted to help me find what I wanted. The difference in attitude and excellent customer service was unbelievable. The Jefferson Mall Dillard's is the only Dillard's I will shop at in the future. read more

I went to Dillard's today to shop for a dress for my daughter. Their children's department was a complete mess. The fitting rooms had garbage on the floor. Piles of clothes were in each room with some items on the floor. The clothing racks were a complete mess as well. Two associates were just standing at the counter. When I brought to their attention the chaos in the fitting rooms I was met with a shrug and explanation that they cannot do anything as if they leave the register people will steal from the floor. Mind you, the department was empty - it wasn't Black Friday or a significant sale day. So, poor service, poor experience. Went across to Oxmoor and had an exceptional experience at Von Maur. Dillard's needs to do better to keep my business. read more

I am very upset. I called the children's dept. to return 2 flower girl dresses still in the dress bags with tags attached purchased on March 2nd and I have the transaction from my bank statement. They advised they have a 90 day return policy I stated two weeks After this purchase all stores literally closed due to COVID-19 so how can you not take the purchase back and be more excepting that we cannot control the environment at this time this is a total of $144.16 so needless to say this money could really go along way for my family I will not be shopping here ever again. read more

Purchased a formal dress which I wore once to a dinner before noticing a flawed area of fabric. Tried to make return along with the sales receipt that was less than two weeks old. Clerk first claimed it was an imprint of other clothes caused by being sandwiched in closet then she decided I scraped it on a brick. Spoke with manager who claimed she couldn't see anything wrong due to her cataracts so my return was declined. I can't wear the dress again. Guess all sales should be considered final and Dillard's doesn't care about customers or quality. Just sad.... read more

So far I like this department store. You'll hardly ever find me shopping in the mall but this place was great...especially when they have a sale. Clerks where helpful and comedic, gave me great info on their bug sales. Got hubby 2 pairs of slacks for $30 bucks when originally would have been $80 or $100+ each... awesome great buy. They had a huge selection of dresses that was very organized, making it easy to find one. I found a dress I really liked and they were happy to put it on hold for me while I shopped in the mall. When I came back, an extremely nice sales lady found the dress for me and also helped me figure out what colors would go well with it for a derby hat. Years and years ago I worked at Dillard's in cosmetics and had an okay experience. This was before Sephora and some of the other trendy stores in Oxmoor popped up. Now Dillard's seems to be stuck in the previous decade, and their selection of handbags is lacking. I hate the lighting in the store which isn't helped much by the fact that it is all the way at the end of the mall. Unless you are going to the men's Dillard's, wait, does that still exist? Oh yeah, it has been moved to the other dull end of the mall- no longer on the front end cap. Regardless, the wal-Mart lighting and lack of on-trend displays doesn't keep me away. What does keep me away is the rude woman at the cosmetics counter, formerly at Chanel and now at Guerlain/Armani who insults me and who refuses to sell me the product I tell her I want to buy. She insists I need full coverage foundation and that there is "no excuse" to look as poorly as I do. This was her comment to me after I had just informed her I had a death in the family several days prior and had just worked a 16 hour shift in a critical care field of medicine. The first time she insulted me I purchased my product but returned it the next day, notifying customer service of the many rude comments she had made to me and that they were totally unnecessary. It was clear she thought I looked awful but even so, there is a much more polite way of suggesting a product she seems to think is more appropriate. I returned recently to Dillard's after a hiatus of more than a year, hoping mean lady wouldn't be there. Much to my dismay, she was. And this was when she flat-out refused to sell me the item I wanted and instead insisted I had to buy another. So I walked out empty-handed and vowed never to return. I happily order what I need online from a merchant other than Dillard's as I don't want to support mean lady and the store for which she works. read more

I know now where to find the best lines of Gucci, Kate Spade, Prada, Ray Ban, etc...was quite surprised that Louisville anything had a line of Tom Ford sunglasses...lol...seems were moving on up in the world.
