I like Meijer in general. This is probably my favorite in the greater Louisville area... but maybe for the wrong reasons. The design is pretty much a big box, but it has somewhat of a contemporary-retro design and color scheme (which most folks don't care about). I like it because it pleases my peeps. Most folks familiar with Meijer agree that it is one of the best, freshest, and largest selections of produce in the area. The only thing better may be Whole Foods Market, but with only one in the greater area, it is not convenient to most. Compared to other big boxes, and in addition to the awesome produce selection, I like this store for the entire selection of food in general... good variety. In particular, there is a great aisle of just international products. Also better than other big boxes, the selection of toiletries, cosmetics, and medical related items is larger than most. Hidden treasure: Of all places, they have a good selection of car audio accessories, mostly cables and connectors for installation. While sale items at Meijer are good and plentiful, regular prices can be high sometimes... ridiculously high... you really have to watch out. This is one of the negative things about the store. Other negative: The electronics department is lacking and the men's clothing seems to be geared toward grand parents and behind a decade in style.

    Great selection

Great selection of ethnic food and meat. Other products seem somewhat expensive compared to Kroger and Walmart.

However, after our experience with the Penney's store in the Greentree Mall, I totally understand why they are headed in that direction. Since the first of March, we've taken every precaution to protect ourselves from Covid. One of our strategies has been to use curbside touch less shopping as much as possible. We made an online purchase at Penney's which in itself was a debacle, but we did finally get it done. We received an email stating our order had arrived at the Greentree Mall Penney's. The email even gave instructions as to the steps to pick up our purchase curbside. Included was the local phone number to call upon arrival for pick up. We arrived at the designated area and called the specified number. It rang forever, then we received a voicemail stating no one was available. We chose to be transferred to the store's operator. Once again after numerous rings, the call went to voicemail stating no one was available to take the call. We waited a few minutes and then went through the same call/ voicemail, call/ voicemail. We did that THREE times and never got in touch with anyone! Finally we decided to drive around to the front of the store, mask up, and go into the store. Once inside we did retrieve our package. When we related what happened and our displeasure, we were given a half hearted sorry about that. Kind of defeats the whole idea of curbside pick up!

However, I feel like their clothes are not the best quality, but are a cheap price. I do occasionally find things that are a bit overpriced and would probably never buy something that isn't on sale here. They do have a Sephora, which (I think) would make it the only one in Southern Indiana, so it's nice to have that there. I feel like JCPenney has been going downhill over the years, and may potentially be lead to the grave where Sears was sent to. But only time will tell.

It is a week day during work hours, so that could be why I didn't experience any of that at this Walmart location, but whatever the reason, I'm glad. This location was a very nice one. It was well organized and maintained. I tend to only go to Walmart when I'm looking for something specific, so not alot of site seeing for me. I like to get in and get out. Even though it wasn't busy, they still had the famous long lines you always find at a Walmart. I was happy when an employee approached me and asked if he could check me out since I was carrying my few items and paying with a card. Thanks to his nifty hand held scanner, I had paid and was out of there in record time. I will probably be back on my next Walmart trip.

The door attendant, though nice, stated no carts were in the store and I needed to go out to the parking lot and bring one inside. No ma'am I will not go outside and get my cart. I appreciate her kindness and I showed her respect for it but we left. Walmart lost my sales which was my entire week's groceries. Target down the street got the business. No carts is extremely poor management! I could semi understand, if the store was busy, but it actually wasn't. I could semi understand if the weather was bad, but it wasn't. So, it was poor management and likely poor scheduling of staff that led to this. I will not recommend this location to anyone, nor shall I return to this location.

If you're looking for a cozy spot where everything is made from scratch and served with a smile,…read moreLeavin Bakery is that perfect little neighborhood gem. The baked goods here are irresistible. I'm obsessed with their cheese danish (honestly, you can't go wrong with any of their pastries). Whether it's a muffin or a fresh-out-of-the-oven cookie, you can taste the love and homemade quality in every bite. On the savory side, the chicken and waffles is a must-try! And don't get me started on their biscuits and gravy--pure comfort food that hits the spot every time. Leavin Bakery is more than just great food... the atmosphere makes you want to stay a little longer. It's super cozy, always friendly, and the perfect neighborhood hangout. I can't wait to come back and explore their lunch menu--if it's anything like breakfast, I know it's going to be amazing.

The bakery and bread items were plentiful and everything looked delicious. The cinnamon roll was our favorite and it will be the reason to return. I also loved my lemon lavender scone, eating half there and taking home the other half for dessert. I wasn't as happy about the sides from the grill. My eggs were extremely peppery and I gave up eating them because every bite was overwhelming. My two slices of bacon were hard and pitiful, definitely not worth the cost. My friend noted her sausage as "interesting". The space has seating at the grill and two rooms, with one being crowded because of the incoming crowd. However, we were so happy to be there that we didn't mind the visitors and no one was rude to us as they walked along the ordering counter. The owners are a husband and wife team. She was friendly and talkative and we loved her the pride she took of the shop. We left with more pastries and bread. Such great selection and pricing. This is a reason to promote this shop. I've paid more for less quality but now know to come to Leaven Bakery.
