I usually go to this location Kroger or goes avenue one. This is alright and easy to reach but sometimes they have empty shelves especially fresh produce and fruits and bakery items. This Kroger is clean and have helpful staff. They have number of organic food varieties. I think they have employee shortage like other retails stores so check out lines are usually closed just 2-3 open at a time. I would give 5 stars instead of 4 but I'm tired of seeing empty shelves.

Patsy the cashier was extremely rude. Bagger was slamming our items in cart and bagged chips with creamer so they all broke. Somehow didn't get our eggs that we put on conveyor belt. Awful people shouldn't be in charge of talking to or dealing with the public.

New rules are in effect: strict limits on the number of people in the store. They count people going in and out and have an officer at the entrance to help people understand the new rules in case of confusion. No lines this morning. It would appear that the frenzy buying is lessening. Stocks are up. Everything else is good!

Tired of being judged in public? Shop here for your groceries. I have shown up here sweaty from the gym, dressed as Max from 'Where the Wild Things Are," in my pajamas, other people's pajamas, and other unfortunate levels of disrepair. No one looked at me like something was amiss. This has the stuff all the Krogers have but its in the Highlands and everyone is chill so don't expect to zip in and zip out, unless you're dressed for the wild rumpus and people clear out for you. This Kroger is also really small but not everything can be huge, they hit all the basics.

Could use some more self checkout machines and a few more human checkouts as well but outside of that I've been.

At Webb's you can get your dry goods, but otherwise it's a very pleasant departure from that model. First and foremost, there is the deli counter in back and the lunch patio. They serve both breakfast sandwiches as well as deli sandwiches. If you pick up your breakfast or lunch to-go, they make everything to order and it's always very quick. Deli smoked sausage sandwich? $2. Country fried steak sandwich? $3. Biscuits 69 cents. Hot wings, beans, chili, mac & cheese, mashed potatoes, cornbread. Want a can of beer with your lunch? That's $1. Webb's is also reasonably stocked with decent produce, which is great since there is no supermarket in Phoenix Hill. So if you want to pick up a couple of tomatoes or onions or bell peppers, you generally can count on getting them here. Webb's received a federal grant to provide equipment and support to carrying healthy items as part of the city's "Healthy in a Hurry" program, and this is the result. (The last time I looked in the produce section, they did have a bunch of girl scout cookies stuffed in there as well, but hey, you need to wash down that lettuce with something, no?)

For TWO DOLLARS (yes kids, not a typo) you can get yourself lunch. You will want to pony up an extra dollar though, for cheese (50 cents) and "dressing" i.e. lettuce, tomato, mayo, etc (50 cents). Still, even with chips and a drink, that's a five buck lunch. And where can you get that kind of a deal anymore?? I got a turkey sandwich, with american cheese, lettuce, tomato, and mustard on wheat bread. And I'll tell ya, its nothing sophisticated but it was pretty darn good. I would definitely come back - they had fried chicken and fried cod that looked delicious! Oh one other thing - Webb's does accept credit cards, but you need to have at least a ten dollar purchase, otherwise they add 25 cents onto your bill. Maybe you care about that, maybe not. Just thought I would put it out there.

I was concerned the ads might be a bit and switch, but there was plenty of product available. I snared quite a few bargains. And I grilled one of the porterhouse steaks tonight and the quality of the beef was excellent. As for the rest of the store, inventory is limited. Some empty shelves, limited selection, and most items are roughly 50¢ to 1$ more than a chain store. The locals have to pay for the convenience. I found it frustrating that many items weren't clearly priced. Particularly in produce. Also, OTG has its own off street parking lot for convenience. Is this an every day shopper? No. But sale prices provide a great reason to shop.

You know that scene from The Simpsons where Grandpa Simpson walks into a brothel, sees his grandson Bart, turns around and walks back out of the door? I kind of wanted to do one of those numbers upon entering Olde Towne Grocery. But I persisted, because I do love checking out local grocery stores when I'm visiting a new area. This one looked like it could have been so much better, but instead it was sad. Empty grocery shelves just give off a depressing feeling, you know? That said, the items that were on the shelves were arranged neatly, so there's that. There was very little produce, and what was there was just the hardy stuff that lasts a long time, like potatoes and onions. The meat counter did not look like it was in commission anymore. I guess a sparse grocery store in a neighborhood is better than no grocery store, right?
