So, shopping at the Big Rapids location and I'm pretty appalled actually. I came in to do some…read moreshopping for sugar free/carb free cake that I'm making for a friend of mine's daughter. You know, kids have it hard enough these days but when you add in ANY type of illness it just makes it that much worse! So I'm hoping to make a beautiful and tasty cake for this young lady turning 13, whose friends regularly eat sugar filled cake. Of course Meijer doesn't sell these cakes and I'm not a professional baker but if I were I would certainly try to accommodate my customers if I didn't carry something they needed. Long story semi short... you can't SELL a cake board and plastic cover to a customer who is making something you don't? Really? First off way to fail at customer service! Second, I HATE Walmart but at least I can buy a plastic/cardboard cake plate from them!! Update: Meijer contacted me and apologized for this encounter. They stated normally they would not sell their supplies but in certain cases a team lead should be consulted. He stated in this case they would have sold me one cake board and dome. I really appreciate that they did this and they also stated they would bring this up with the staff working that day to clarify. In either case, I still made this girls cake and it turned out great!

Well that's where this Kohls is, a non exciting small town in Michigan named Mount Pleasant. I was needing a new pair of work boots and there was nothing within a 45 minute drive so Kohl's it was. I promise I drove around and visited 4 other stores in search of plain black boots. This Kohl's only had 1 of solid pair which is understandable because there's no sense of options because it would not be profitable I getit and I got what they had. I asked some coworkers and their advice was Meijer's or Walmart, I looked at their shoes and attire and attributed it to being that in Houston, we're fashionable we keep up with what's hot and what's not. NO SHADE! Mount Pleasant has maybe 1% of African Americans, Houston, Tx has Beauty Supply stores every 5 blocks so Amazon was my 1st and only option. Kohl's still had pretty much of what's needed for all your household, accessories and clothes needs. My cashier wasn't too happy to see me but I was happy to see her because my wait in line wasn't not long. Kohl's always have sales and coupons you can combine. Here Today. Won't be back tomorrow!

I had $42 in my debit card account…read more It kept declining so I asked who I assume was a manager for help because she was wearing a more official outfit. She just stood there and smirked at me and asked if I had enough money. I tried explaining to her that yes I did and could she please just help me. I even showed my balance to my roommates who I was with and they told the lady it should be working. When it kept declining I transferred twenty more dollars onto my card and my roommate told me not to hold my card in so aggressively. Maybe it was the holding of the card differently or the extra money but it finally went through. The manager who had been standing there the whole time not helping me said "are you sure you had enough money at the beginning? Didn't you just say you had to transfer money?" In the most condescending voice. I wish I'd gotten her name because my roommates and I walked out like did that really just happen? Apparently it isn't the first time they've had issues with their registers and checkout process. I'm on the lookout for her next time I go in so I can get her name.

She was looking at me in the eyes as I started to ask the question her co-worker came back in from outside, she ignored me whipped around and said "You went outside!! What were you doing out there?" He went on to explain he was checking the stock of something outside of the front door. Then she continued talking to him and ignoring me. Also items aren't correctly entered into their inventory thing because what's shown as available in store is not, looking for an item the other day, showed as in stock went to isle where it was and completely out of stock. They took away the ginger snaps which are digestive aid, so I looked for Vernors to see if it still has ginger in it. The person who I inconvenienced, was stocking the coolers. When I moved into look for Vernors, she became offended and asked what I was looking for specifically. I told her "Your store no longer carries ginger snaps, so I'm looking for Vernors." No response and turned back to the cooler. Later on I found that they do care a generic ginger ale and a prune juice, unfortunately both where in sizes too large for me to carry the rest of the day.
