They have used clothing, shoes, purses; books and movies; kids clothing and toys. All donated, items and all workers are volunteers. They fund a free preschool for 3 & 4 year olds at the Presbyterian Church. Donated things are processed carefully- only clean clothing in good condition are put i the store. They take some consignments. Frequent sales, very good prices. Paperback books are 50 cents and hardbacks $1.00. Shoes $1 a pair. Childrens books 25 cents. Dollar racks for some clothing. .

Recently an employee, Katie, has been there while I'm shopping more often than not. She always gives me a warm genuine hello and asks how I have been doing. I hadn't been in in a while and she even went to say "I haven't seen you in a while, how have you been?" That made me feel like I mattered and brought a smile from ear to ear. Every time I am trying my clothes on she is always so fast to check in on me and take the things I don't want, and even goes out of her way to bring me new ideas. When I told her once that I usually only shop clearance (as she had brought me a beautiful-but out of my price range- romper) she didn't get annoyed at all. She actually introduced me to their Instagram! Now I'm not sure if every rue21 has their own Instagram, but they should! She explained that her and the team posted coupons all the time and there was one going on while I was in there! This girl talked me into grabbing not one, but 2 rompers AND a cute necklace to wear out with them! Not once did I feel like I was being pressured into buying something I didn't need! She even wanted to post me on the Instagram- (I'm a little insecure so I told her not today) but that made me feel so special! Thank you Katie!

I bought a split king bed with 2 different mattresses and an adjustable base. I purchased new pillows, sheets, and mattress covers, along with a professional massage chair. I paid the full amount in cash when we checked out. Fast forward 3 years, almost to the exact date, and I had to make a claim about my purple mattress that is completely ripped on the bottom(underneath) part of the mattress and on the top of the mattress the entire left side of the mattress is completely separated. It has a foam side that is against the purple portion of the mattress. I filed a claim with Big Sandy's and Purple to get a new mattress. Purple agreed that the mattress needs to be replaced. I spoke with a staff member who told me I had a couple of different options. I could keep the mattress and do nothing,or I could exchange it for the same mattress, or I could bring in the old one and get 60% of the amount spent which would be $1340 out of $2200 and go somewhere else or last option would be pick out a mattress there and if it was more than $2200 I would pay the difference or if it was under the $2200 then I would get the difference in cash. I told her that I wanted to talk to my husband about it, but I was sure we would be in very soon. My husband and I went to Big Sandy's and talked to the employees there at the time and went over what I was told and that we wanted to pick out a new mattress. The employee we we're talking to said that she didn't know anything about what I was told and that they don't usually give cash refunds, they do store credit but I could go pick out a mattress and she would talk to someone else about it. I picked out a mattress that was quite a bit cheaper than the other mattress, so I would have a difference of a little over $800. We talked to the girl from check-in and I believe a manager of the store. We told him everything we were told previously from an employee over the phone, and he stated that they don't do cash refunds only store credit. I told him, but that's not what I was told. He responded that it didn't matter what I was told. I then said I have nothing I need for my home, nor do I have room for anything. I told him that I didn't want the mattress, but they were not giving me options. I told him I wanted my money back to go somewhere else where my mattress would last longer than 3 years. I told him I spent over 7k that day and paid over 2k for something that was completely ruined in 3 years. I also stated that I want to buy from a company that not only stands behind their products but stand behind what they tell their customers whether it's wrong or not. I said that regardless of whether the staff member was wrong, they should do what I was told and deal with the employee about the information that was wrong with just that staff member alone at a different time. The manager said he would ask a higher up what to do and also talk to corporations and see what they said. We were informed that they would call us and let us know. About a week later, they called us and told us that they still have to talk to corporate, but our options are either to keep the trashed mattress or pick out a new one and have store credit. I myself don't want to get anything from them, but what choice do I have. I can either sleep on a mattress that is ruined and deal with the pain from sleeping on it, or pick out a new one and hope that the new one lasts longer than 3 years. I will never go there again and I will tell anyone that will listen not to go there and waste your money because they don't stand behind their products or their staff.

He gave me all of the things I needed to know about the mattress in question, including price and delivery. (I did all of this one the phone from down state) I told him that I would get back to him. I went and called other stores, both here up North and down state. To get prices and delivery and the same mattress. Turns out Big Sandy was the best on both. I called Andrew and placed my order. Now is was wait and see on delivery because every one else was longer than Sandy. Well. Sandy was right on target. They delivered when they said they would. I am very satisfied with my purchase and would buy there again.
