It is often very busy especially during summer months and so the prices tend to stay about the same. Staff is always friendly. When ever I've gone in there they go out of their way to help you and make sure that you feel like you're part of their family. The bakery (which is all we saw) was amazing with a fantastic variety of baked items for every taste. There was a good selection of coffee varieties and fortunately for me as a non coffee drinker, soft drinks. Back to my scone. I got the pineapple coconut flavor. The scone was unbelievably light and bursting with flavor. I only wish I had room for two or even three. We also got a salted caramel cookie which was just as fantastic. Ebels has a lot of comfortable seating to enjoy your treats. I only wish the best scone I've ever had wasn't 60+ miles away. .

The minute you walk in you're going to be hungry, even if you just ate. The house smoked and cured meats can literally be smelled in the parking lot. DGS has everything from local North Michigan specialities to fresh produce and an array of MI butchery products. The star of the show however is all their house made meats... Sausages, brats, jerky, etc., DSG has it all. Plus the staff is super friendly and helpful... Some of the friendliest people we've met in a while. When we're in the Cadillac area again, we will no doubt make a point to get back to DGS to stock up... Two thumbs up.

They also have ice cream and hot food deli. There is a beer cave and a beer aisle, plus wine. Other than fresh produce, this store has pretty much everything. If you're camping here or passing through, come here. Our firewood bundles were huge, the IPA was juicy, and the staff were friendly. Here you find a nondescript name, and an awesome oasis.

You know, kids have it hard enough these days but when you add in ANY type of illness it just makes it that much worse! So I'm hoping to make a beautiful and tasty cake for this young lady turning 13, whose friends regularly eat sugar filled cake. Of course Meijer doesn't sell these cakes and I'm not a professional baker but if I were I would certainly try to accommodate my customers if I didn't carry something they needed. Long story semi short... you can't SELL a cake board and plastic cover to a customer who is making something you don't? Really? First off way to fail at customer service! Second, I HATE Walmart but at least I can buy a plastic/cardboard cake plate from them!! Update: Meijer contacted me and apologized for this encounter. They stated normally they would not sell their supplies but in certain cases a team lead should be consulted. He stated in this case they would have sold me one cake board and dome. I really appreciate that they did this and they also stated they would bring this up with the staff working that day to clarify. In either case, I still made this girls cake and it turned out great!

They have deliveries from a local baker as well that makes fabulous sour dough (Laughing Tree). They have also expanded their offerings on speciality cheeses and health products. Hansen Foods brings in produce from local farmers as well as canned goods from local producers. Prices are competitive especially for a small store. They're a little higher than the major grocery chain but it's nice to support local businesses. Staff are friendly and the owner wants to accommodate and evens does some special orders if a product is low or out of stock.

He pointed out the family pack and said it's right there (across from butcher counter) I went to look and it was family packs. I said that is not what I'm looking for. He said just split it up. I said I can't I'm trying to fulfill an order the customer ordered 3- 1lb packages. He walked back through the butcher doors and a guy named Evan helped me and he walked back and got the meat I was looking for, no thanks to Jason. I was very pleased with how kind Evan was but Jason should be ashamed because the store loses money when products aren't supplied and the customers get angry. Very next day did a customer order a meat again not on the shelf so I pressed the bell, got Jason again.... Asked about if they had any he said it's not ready... wouldn't have taken long at all to get. Let the customer know he said they didn't have it ready (hard to believe him when the day before Evan walked out with an entire bag full of meat) the customer was mad and had me put back 15 of his 40 items that required that meat... not cheap items either. Again, meijer lost money because of the lack of customer service and the customer didn't get his products either.
