This Walmart is the WORST!!! Today is asked FIVE employees to look something up for me to see if they had a size in stock. This is about the Auto Services department only. I needed two used tires I owned mounted on two wheels I carried in. After standing in line 20 minutes, I was informed that they cannot mount any tire that is not brand new, due to California onerous legal climate. During my visit, there was one good natured, efficient guy working the counter with 3-4 people in line. It wasn't super busy in the shop, and it was mid morning. One thing of note; the department manager arrived, saw the line and then looked at me (last one in the line) and acted like he was going to open another register. I responded that the others in line were in front of me, and he said "oh, ok" and then retreated to his office never to appear again. This is one of the things that's frustrating about observing customer service; it would have been so simple for the manager to open another register for a few minutes, handle the 3 people in line, and I would have waited 5 minutes instead of 20. But he probably had some important paperwork or Minecraft, FaceBook or Farmville work to do. Key points; They will not mount a used tire. how do I rate a Walmart Store. Pretty much the same everywhere, all the time . My complaint is that I need the use of their electric carts . I like to get out and shop by myself. I depend on those carts. Walmart is cheap with the number of working carts they provide. Been to this location several times. Staff have always been friendly except for the other day. My 3 year old was in the shopping cart and he had a sanitary wipe in his hand and threw it down from the cart, it landed on the floor. Before I could pick it up Jennifer was scolding and scowling at him. My friend behind us greeted her which she didn't acknowledge and said she was particularly unpleasant. Took my daughter more than hour returning something. Not waiting in line, but waiting for it to be properly returned. It takes 15 -30 min at a time to get the manager because they are under woefully under staffed and the cashier kept messing up and needing to call her 3 to 4 times. Understandably, my daughter was getting impatient and made her unhappiness known. No yelling but asked the manager not to leave again. The manager then told my daughter that SHE was doing my daughter a favor because the order was made on walmart.com. Really? It was a photo order specifically to that store for 1 photo (multiple configurations) which printed dark with a green tinge. And my daughter had the receipt. The online policy clearly states that the photos cannot be returned online and must be returned in the store. So what kind of favor was she doing exactly? Giving customer service for something that was completed wrong by her store is NOT a favor. Pretty sure its her job. I have to say...the service at this store has been getting nothing but worse. The cashier's are porrly trained and take forever. There mess up so often the need for the manager is required contantly. It takes the manager 15 - 20 minutes to arrive every time. The self service isles always needed corrected and no one wants to use them so the 3 open registers are packed. Honestly I only go when I need insulin from the pharmacy. And I can't buy needles for my insulin without a prescription so I end up going somewhere else for that. read more

If I could leave zero stars I would. It's easy to see why all their employees are getting replaced by self checkout machines. They have more of a personality than the actual people. I needed to replace headlight bulbs. The price tag reflected another price than what was ringing out. Working in retail I can understand this happens. Customers move things around. This item had at least 5 of the same item on it and they would not honor it. The "Manager" if you can even call her that, said oh I'll call over there but it's more since their are two. Completely missing the point that it was their pricing error. I even offered to go take a picture of where I found it, but no that wouldn't make any difference apparently. What a joke. Walmart is usually the best priced spot in town. Thia one is mostly clean un the isles and racks. Staff is helpful. Havent used their restrooms so cant comment in those. I've been to this walmart several times without any issues. Plenty of parking. During the pandemic when social distancing is enforced like it is supposed to be right now, this store has done nothing that I saw to follow the rules. Staff did wear masks, some wore gloves. I did not see hand sanitizer stations (idk if that is a rule or not) but the store was PACKED. Shoulder to shoulder just now. Everyone sharing the isles, close together, lines the same way. I was at this location a week ago to get some washer fluid for my vehicle since I had to prepare myself for a long drive. Store was clean, it was easy to find stuff necessarily. Great staff at this store! I had a myriad of technical problems in the self checkout lane (4/19/2019 3pm) including the register excepting but not deducting my valid coupon and the register getting stuck in a processing loop at the final stage of using auto pay through the Walmart app - But.. attendant Sarah at the self check out Area stuck with me and tried one thing after another until the problem was finally solved. Mind you none of this was her fault at all, it was a technical issue with the Walmart auto pay system and other automated systems, but despite that Sarah really stuck with it and worked with me for about 20 minutes until she finally solved the problems we were having caused by Walmarts corporate network infrastructure issues. I love Walmart but customer service is bad. Very bad. Sometimes I go to target and pay more for less just because walmart just doesn't care. I went to buy a type c hdmi cable and as I was looking for it an employee approached me very awkwardly and hovered over my every move. I told him what I was looking for and he said that doesn't exist, then said they don't carry it, then said I can only find online. Several stores carry it maybe they don't but why lie and make me feel stupid for asking. The consumer experience just keeps getting worse and worse here. Now all cosmetics are locked behind glass. You have to wait for a sales associate to come unlock the doors. Since I didn't know where the specific item I needed was (app just said F27) and I didn't have the item number, the associate was unwilling to help me find the makeup and told me I would have to call someone once I found it on my own. We had to have her called 3 times before she came back to the cosmetics area. She was extremely rude, was upset that I wanted to look at the lipstick shades up close before selecting which one, got even more upset when I read the information on the box for the concealer, and she just kept asking "are you done shopping?" I would much rather pay the extra $2 or $3 at Target so I can make sure I'm picking out the correct makeup and to not deal with the people that hate their job. read more

The employees are the absolute WORST here. I purchased a Christmas decoration item at the Porter Ranch location and found that the item was fairly large. The very next day I was in the area and wanted to exchange the item and I was met with nothing but hostility. I was told that my item was much less than the item was listed and to remove it from their counter because it wasn't going to happen. I have been to this store more than a few times. I have spent my fair share of time in customer service type jobs. I get that many employees are new and possibly even seasonal at this point, but I feel that a job should be taken seriously regardless of what it is. Today alone I encountered two very unprofessional employees. I don't say this as a complaint but more so as a reminder to train employees and monitor the new ones until they are trustworthy. 1. I stood and an isle and asked an employee if he could open a cabinet. I was ignored and he was about 5 feet away. I asked again and he turned and walked away. Another customer smirked and commented about him. I walked towards the employee understanding that he probably had earbuds in despite being on the floor stocking shelves. I was respectful and said, "Hi, could you open this for me?" His response, unmediated followed by replacing his earbuds was "I don't have the keys." I'm sure it's obvious that good customer service would be "I don't have the keys but let me grab someone to help you. 2. As I was checking out at self check out, there were two people working there. A woman was standing behind the counter with her cell phone in her hands and ear buds in. She was talking and it was obvious that it was a phone conversation and not that she was speaking to the other employee. Employees deserve breaks, but not while they at least appear to be in a place where they should be working. Phone conversations should not take place on duty and at your work station. Please speak to your employees and train them in respectful professional customer service. read more

I went and purchased a pay as you go phone,and I asked the assistant to let me know what card I need with the phone.He gave it to me and I left. I found out when I got home the car he sold me was not compatible with the phone he gave me,so I went on line and bought one from Walmart. So when I took the wrong one back for a refund,"Kathy" told me outright these are "not refundable" I said " He sold me the wrong one" She replied "You need to read the back of card when you buy it" In that case you're employee needs more training so that this doesn't happen again.She called over a manager and he said the same thing," not refundable" I said again " he sold me the wrong one"He mumbled something and she got 30 dollars out of register and 50 cents,said "HERE!" handed me the bills and then banged the fifty cents on the counter,that set me off. Purchased an robe from Walmart.com, through one of their third party Marketplace vendors. Specifically checked that I could return the item to the store if I didn't like it. When the item arrived, it came in a blue plaid instead of a solid blue. I printed out a store return receipt and took it to the store in Simi Valley. There, I was advised that they were not taking back clothes at that time because of COVID. I waited a few weeks and called them today(9/15) and was advised that they were now taking clothes returns. When I got to the store and showed them my store return receipt, they said I could not return that item to the store.. I informed them that I specifically purchased it because I could. The customer service supervisor, Cathy, sad too bad she can't do anythg about it. I asked for her name and she walked away. I asked her a second time and she refused to acknowledge me. The other employee was kind enough to give it to me.. I ended up calling up Walmart.com and got a very helpful representative named Juan. Much more pleasant to deal with. Cathy needs to take notes or receive some training from Juan. Cathy has no right being a supervisor. She is a Horrible representative for Walmart. Much rather go to Target even if you pay a little more, it is always worth it to get treated in a civil manner. I just read over a few of the other re Jews at the Simi Valley Walmart and saw that other customers also had a negative experience with Cathy. Wal-Mart is back on my boycott list. They have enjoyed a brief reprieve since I had a baby because they actually have some cute baby clothes and all their other baby stuff is cheaper than Target, but now I am totally done with them. I ordered one-hour photos online. I showed up about four hours later and my photo job was never sent. So I stood there for 20 minutes while pimply teen boy was on hold with the help line and was being chatted up by horsey teen girl. Eventually, he was helped and told me that they were resending my order and it would be ready in an hour, no sooner. I wasted about 40 minutes looking at Christmas sale stuff, then my baby was hungry and needed a change, so I made my way back to the front of the store and was surprised to find there was no changing station in the women's restroom. I asked the greeter about it and she directed me to some secret restroom in the very back of the store, so I made my way back there to find a restroom even more disgusting than the front restroom. Thank god for disposable changing pads. On my way back to the front (again), I decided to check on my photo order since it should have been ready in about ten minutes. Horsey teen girl told me that my order didn't go through again. I literally threw up my hands and said, "Forget it, I am done with Wal-Mart Photo." If I hadn't been with a friend, I would have abandoned my entire cart and left. I am so done with Wal-Mart. Update January 2008: I just got a call from Wal-Mart.
