Whatever happened to employee parking being farther away from the building to allow customers to park close to the entrance. Today " Sunday" they open at 7 am. Talk about absolute nonsense. It seems like the entire store has gone to self-checkout and even then you can't even find an employee. However, the real reason for my review is the store's policy of ordering online compared to in person shopping is absolutely absurd. I came into the store looking for baby formula as it says they have it available, and I can even pick it up in store if I wanted. However, when I get to the section it seems like other baby formula has spilled over and someone might have accidentally mistook the items as available inventory. Since it's behind a case, I have to call over an associate, which is an ordeal unto itself. I eventually get two different employees show up to come assist, but of course they don't have the item and it's falsely stating "available." I'm then advised by both employees that I should go upfront and order with the online shopping Walmart representative so they can grab the item from the back for me in the warehouse. So instead of one of the employees going back for me, they are essentially stating I need to order online and "Hope" the item is back there otherwise Walmart will refund me. After politely asking one of the employees, he did check in the back, but after several minutes stated they didn't have any. Luckily he did mark it OUT OF STOCK, but talk about a weird policy- ORDER ONLINE, but don't expect to pick up items in person. This is just another reason why I try to avoid Walmart stores. read more

My family and I rarely ever go to Walmart since we prefer Target but lately we've been visiting more of them since we heard of their great selection of Pokemon figures! Great parking and lots of space. We walked in and the workers were chatting about but seemed like they were having a great time working. We immediately went to the Games/Electronics since that's where they keep their magazines and were surprised to find the Pokemon Time Magazines with plenty of stock!! We already had Mew but they also had some of the older ones like Pikachu! Super surprised and immediately took one. Went over to the Pokémon figures and they had about the same stock of figures we found yesterday but we got a new one that we haven't seen yet, Scizor Jazwares figure! Such a great one and glad we managed to get one in good condition (sometimes the paint job is god awful). We picked up some sour gummy candy for the road and had a smooth self check out process. On July 31, 2024, my boyfriend and I went to Walmart to grab something. We were also looking around before going to take the item to the register. I was with my boyfriend and this man, who might be the manager or part of security came up to us saying that the store was closing in 15 minutes and registers close at exactly 11pm. We say, "ok no problem". We know that's a lie cause what about the other people checking out or in line? The cash registers don't automatically shut down when the store closes at 11pm. After he said that, my boyfriend was gonna show me something in the next aisle but the employee said, "the cash registers are in front of the store so turn and walk that way" and we started walking towards the front. There were other people nearby still looking around and he repeated that the store was closing in 15mins. But he didn't tell them to start walking to the front or the cash registers was going to shut down at 11pm. Now, my boyfriend is disabled and has a horrible back, so he walks slow. The employee repeatedly told us to keep walking to the front, walking behind us. He stepped back and said something into the walkie talkie and then continued to follow us. We bought our item and as the lady went to check the receipt, he yells over the self checkout area and says that we stole something. I opened my purse and my boyfriend pulled his pockets out. We didn't steal anything. But we were embarrassed and he was extremely rude and very unprofessional. Also, what is the receipt checker lady going to do if we did steal? They have a no touch policy. We were waiting for our uber and the same guy walked out and as he walked past, my boyfriend asked for his name. He said, "I don't have to tell you. I'm off the clock. Come back tomorrow if you want to find out." I was able to record the interaction and got a good screenshot of him from the recorded video which is posted below. I know that my boyfriend and I may look a little rough around the edges cause I don't always wear makeup and his clothes might look or be dirty from working on a renovation project or other hands-on tasks. But this should not result in assumptions about our behavior. Being unjustly followed, accused of shoplifting, and treated rudely even after demonstrating our innocence is both disrespectful and unacceptable! read more

The absolute worst customer service possible. My son & I visited the store earlier today and made 2 purchases totaling $240. One of the items was a pair of work boots. Later this evening, my son went to lace up the boots and realized that the cashier forgot to take off the security tag. No problem. We went back to have the tag removed. I stayed in the car & sent my adult son in with the shoes & receipt. Pretty simple right? Wrong. My son was treated like a criminal. The exit monitor, the customer service person and a manager named Cameron all got involved in the transaction. They tried to quiz my son about what time he bought the shoes & accused him of not coming in with the shoes. Check the video!! So, instead of an apology to him for having to return to the store to have the tag removed, he was met with accusations. After a lot of back & forth, the manager Cameron figured out the situation and said everything was good- but still no apology. In addition, the customer service person wouldn't give him the receipt back, which had many other items on it, including electronics. He basically had to beg for "his" receipt back. What a mess. I should have went in myself, and addressed the issue , but I had already put on my pajamas for the evening. This was a total inconvenience & to be treated like a thief was the cherry on top. Ordered tires online. Came in for an appointment to install tires. Waited for an hour for someone to greet us. The tires shakes, so I bring the car back for balance. Tires still shakes, bring car back again for balance. They canceled the balance, saying that I need new lug nuts. I went to America's Tires. They balance my tires without saying anything about the lug nuts. Now my tires doesn't shake anymore. I will never go back to Walmart for Tires. read more

This is an odd Walmart, which is saying something because this is Walmart. The store itself has a decent selection, albeit with an odd layout that isn't very intuitive. But I've never been to any store where there is a person standing next to you the entire time you use the self checkout, and then you have to present them with a copy of your receipt so that they can confirm that they saw you load the same items into your bag a second time AND to verify that you didn't lie about the number of $0.10 recyclable bags you used. I can appreciate the need for security, but this just seemed a bit excessive. The one major upside...they have a pretty decent liquor selection and their juice is a fraction of the price of the BevMo next door to them. So if you're like me and you like your alcohol to be reasonably priced, this is definitely a decent spot to check out if you're in the greater West Los Angeles Avenue area of the greater Simi Valley metroplex. read more

Though I don't shop at Walmart very much any more, recently they have been helpful for a few items. About a month ago I'd gone in to get a few reasonable clothing pieces. I've been losing weight, and plan to continue, so I don't want to spend a lot on things that i may not keep too long. There are certain things, like leggings, or pajamas, that are very well priced and wear / wash well, that are hard to beat for the money. Some of their activewear styles are worth checking out. Speaking of checking out, the cashier I had on that trip was delightful. Very friendly and engaging. A couple nights ago Dear Hubby and I went in to check out a lamp I'd researched online. I'd literally viewed nightstand table lamp options on websites like Target, Wayfair, Overstock, TJ Maxx, and others. Walmart's version of the Better Homes & Gardens' brand won out for the right size, plus style and price. They had one left in stock in the color I wanted, so that worked out great. I took it to self checkout, since I only had the one item. DH caught up to me and added a couple quick grocery items. I paid, we collected our stuff and were on our way. On a side note, when I was clothes shopping, I also needed shampoo and conditioner, so was in that section of the store. They've had to resort to enclosing all the cosmetics and skin care items in locked cases, likely due to theft. Not cool that such measures are needed. I was able to quickly find an employee to help me access skin care products. They had an older gentleman covering the receipt-checking area at the outbound door. He was very polite to all. I hope the customers repeat the courtesy. Controlling shrinkage keeps prices low for everyone! read more

Had to find a few things not available at the local Neighborhood Market near us, so went here and found what we needed. The shelves were pretty full for the most part and some harder to find items were even present; this made for a successful trip. Chaos still reigned supreme in the aisles, dodging stockers, desperate shoppers, and such; it was like almost normal again. Even Walmart has had to raise their prices quite a bit, but it seems to be slightly less here than at other area stores. We were able to fill our cart with the goods we came for; the cost was not quite double that of a couple of years ago, ain't life funny. read more

My elderly, cancer patient mother was robbed yesterday at the self checkout for almost $2,000. (Wednesday 4-19-23 at 11:37 am) by two gypsies. Two gypsies approached her as she was paying at the self checkout. One pretending to not speak English and the other approaching on the other side explaining that the lady behind her needs help and doesn't speak English. They steal the debit card right out of the machine while you're distracted and your cash while you're purse and wallet is open. When we called her bank this morning the gypsies had already changed the phone number associated with the account so we had to go into a branch and the banker was already aware of the scam. He explained it to us and my poor, sweet mom was shocked when she realized yeah. That's exactly what happened. She was a mark. Bank of America is aware of the gypsies scam but Walmart isn't. Not sure how that's possible? I've called Walmart to make them aware several times today trying to speak to a manager but haven't received anything remotely like decent customer service. I thought Walmart had high tech security cameras over the self checkout area? Maybe that's not true at the Simi location? As a PSA the banker at Bank of America let us know that the gypsies have moved into the New Bury Park area and have been pulling this scam for weeks at Walmart locations. They target people that are well dressed, have a designer bag, essentially people who appear to have money to steal. His advice was to avoid Walmart altogether and go to Target because the gypsies haven't hit Target stores. Target is a superior store anyway. I'd rather spend a few extra bucks than get robbed. Do something Walmart. Don't let your customers get robbed on your premises. Disgraceful. read more

Ordered a small microwave online this morning and picked it up around 10am today. The order wasn't ready yet, but a nice lady went and got it for me. The store is clean, laid out nicely snd very friendly employees. It wasn't too busy yet, so I guess I came at the right time. I had given up, but he was amazing and checked the back (again it was not in the right place in the back either though) but he ended up finding one!!! Wow, just WOW!!! After receiving the most incredible customer service I felt compelled to review this Walmart. We needed to buy approximately 85 bags of red mulch to freshen up our landscaping. We rented a 6x9 U-Haul trailer and when we got to Walmart we couldn't find it in the Garden area where it usually is. We did found Mary, an kind and helpful employee, who promptly called for someone to see if they still had any mulch. Shortly thereafter, Kamaran, showed up and said they moved & packed up the mulch to make room for Christmas displays. However, he'd be glad to try and locate it. It was found completely wrapped on several pallets near automotive. Without giving it a second thought, Kamaran got a forklift, moved a half dozen other pallets that were blocking the mulch pallets, and drove it to our trailer. He then jumped into action loading our trailer!! Mary helped and even taped some bags before loading them as well! We were so shocked at how both Kamaran & Mary never once complained or said we couldn't buy it as it was wrapped and ready to go. They lifted and carried those bags, while making us feel appreciated the entire time. On top of this, when we went to pay, the price was adjusted to reflect a nice discount. Also of note, the gentleman greeter in a wheelchair near the Garden door was very pleasant, and a few other employees we happened to cross paths with all greeted us with a warm smile. I'll say it again, WOW! Please give this Walmart a try. And BTW, they have just set up a pretty nice holiday section fully stocked with wonderful items. A+++++++++ read more

I actually used to like this place, or at least as much as one can like a WalMart. I refuse to use self-checkout, as I don't like the idea of greedy companies taking jobs away from real humans. Unfortunately, the last 5 times I've been here there were no cashiers available at all. There are employees standing at the door doing nothing other than being annoying and getting in the way, of course. So obviously this WalMart has decided to prioritize scrutinizing and annoying customers over actual basic customer service. When you need something right away and the closet store is Walmart, it became a life saver for me. I was eating some Carne asada tacos at work and I got a piece of meat stuck between my teeth. It was irritating and I didn't have any floss around so luckily I have a Walmart across the street from my work office. The parking lot is huge so you won't have any issues finding parking. When I walked in, there a greeter by the door and I was able to find what I was looking for right away. I went to the self checkout because I only had 2 items. Their machine was kind of slow but I was able to pay for my item and leave. There also a person watching the exit, I guess to be a lookout for theft. I was in and out within like 5 minutes. I wore my mask and everyone I saw had their mask on as well. read more

I would give a zero rating if I could. The one star is that I bought tires at a good price. The app was great as was the communication up until arriving at the store for our appointment. The first bad sign was them saying they didn't need my barcode when the email said be sure to have them scan your barcode. Then, they quoted me 2 hours for installation when the appointment is a 1 hour appointment. At the 90 minute mark we decided to check progress only to be told it would be 2-3 hours before they could even look at it. At that point the customer with an appointment after mine asked for a manager. A manager came who was not the manager for the department, but tried to help. First, they blamed it on the truck that was in the bay (same one that was there when we arrived) saying the tires were too big. Then, it was we had a guy call out. I happened to speak to the truck owner who was waiting and he said his truck had been in since 6:45 and it was pushing 10am. At that point, I questioned the manager on whether their technician is even qualified. There is no reason in the world it would take that long. There was a young women with a child waiting for an oil change and the employee behind the register told her, "Good luck." And then advised her to go get her keys and leave. This is the poorest run place I have ever been to and will never be back. A bunch of us waiting are going to call the store manager, but it's unlikely they will even care. Customer service is non-existent. I can only hope the tires are installed properly. Had they said be prepared to leave your car for the day, I would have made other arrangements. Costco is just down the road and I could have been in and out by now. Too big a price to pay to save a few bucks. Lesson learned. My recommendation is to stay clear of this place. As an update: the car is finally ready and the idiot that installed the tires says the tires are good but my car makes a noise maybe steering or shocks. My car did not come in with any noises and was just fully serviced last week. Now, I am waiting for a manager!! Beware everyone, beware! read more

Went in to Walmart customer service today. I had ordered a bulk pack of Hershey kisses online, which was shipped from New Jersey to California in this extreme summer heat. In spite of a thawed ice pack included in the package, the shipment, and chocolates arrived destroyed and melted. Gwen, (with customer service,) after refunding the transaction, suggested a wholesaler in the area where I can purchase bulk candy items locally. She saved the day for me. Thank you Gwen! read more

I used to love going to this Walmart location but since recent adverse events happened, I decided it's time to move on to a much better store(s). I will probably still shop at Walmart but not at this location. One in the main store and the other at the garden center. Self check out was the other option! All the rest of the employees were stocking shelves!! Really? Prices have sky rocketed and service is on a downward spiral! I had several boxes of frozen food and waited in line for about 20 minutes!! So naturally after my purchase I made a bee line out of the store without properly checking my receipt for fear that the frozen stuff would be defrosted. Got home and realized that I was charged for an extra item. Called the store to speak to a supervisor and have been on hold for 10 minutes and counting!! That being said, the manager who eventually came on, was very professional, empathetic and apologetic!! Acknowledged there were a few shortcomings but working to fix things. It's 9:30 pm on a Saturday and I have never been in a Walmart that is this dirty! The items on the shelves look like they have been gone through several times and I did not see any employees attempting to straighten them out or to show any organization. Matter of fact, I didn't see any employees except the few at the registers. I have been to this location in the mornings when the store 1st opens and everything is so well organized and it looks awesome. Am I in the same store? It looks like a ghetto store. Having worked retail for a few years I can tell the manager that works overnight takes pride in the work performed to ensure presentation is great when the store opens.
