When you enter the store, an employee stands or sits near the entrance less than 2 feet apart from you doing nothing. When you leave the store, the employee who checks your receipt is about a feet away from you and isn't separated by a plastic divider such as the one found at Costco. In other words, this Walmart gets an F for failing to comply with social distancing. The store has gone downhill in terms of availability of staples and essentials. The last time I visited, an employee pulled down her mask in the main aisle to sip a drink and chat with another employee who was less than a feet from her. When several people commented on the fact she had pulled her mask down, she quickly put her mask back on. But the damage was already done. This Walmart needs to monitor their employees better and not leave it up to customers to do their work of monitoring employees and shoppers. First time I picked up a product that I ordered from #Walmart online. It saved me money on shipping. This service was pretty good; they had a dedicated waiting lounge area and It was a fairly shorty wait because I notified them that I was on my way via app. Feeling pretty satisfied how quick that transaction was I decided to shop and found two jeans (same brand different colors) for my husband. As I checked out (self checkout) I realize that one didn't have a bar code so I waited for the customer service to help. She was busy talking to another employee but eventually came over. She said "Hi hon what can I help you with?" So I explained that I have the 2 jeans but one didn't have a bar code. She responded "I'm so sorry, what YOU can do is go back and find one with a bar code" I thanked her for her time and walked out without buying anything. She can return the two jeans herself and not make a sale. Prime example how a good experience can turn into a bad one within 20 minutes. read more

As a former employee I saw the rats and asked my supervisor Rachael what they were going to do about it and she just laughed. Even though there are some great people working there, this location has long since been my favorite. I use to love going to the store on Sycamore and Cochran, friendly helpful staff, well organized, well stocked, but this location is a disaster. Not enough cashiers, no one available to answer questions or get merchandise. Grocery center (meats, fruit, bakery) greatly reduced or eliminated. Shelves are empty, and don't get me started on the parking situation. I have given it a few months to get itself together after the one location was closed. But today was the final straw. I'll precede this with the fact that I enjoy a good trip to walmart,but my expectations are to find things myself. The last few times i've called this location to help me find products in stock, I've been on hold for 30-min ea. This particular time is sending me over... I'm actually on hold as I type this, for the second re-dial session. I just need someone to go over and look at the products and tell me if they have one type, in particular. After a few passes, I get to a guy who's knowledgeable about the gear. He tells me he'll check and puts me on hold for 30-minutes. I'm trying to get back on the phone with him as we speak. ... 5 call passes so far on this one .. finally talked to the guy who was sitting at the section and got answer. 45-min total time on this call. It would have been faster to drive the 15miles and check myself. read more

The automotive department is a mess. Got there @ 7 AM as posted waited 20 minutes for them to open the doors. When the doors opened @ 7:20 me and two other people pull our cars in and wait another 10 minutes for service. I decided to go in a see why they were not talking to us. They only had one tech there and need two to start service. I ask why they didn't come tell us and the young tech said I do not make the schedule I said but you can talk and you could have said something earlier to us. I went back around 4:30 and they were not doing oil changes because people had called in sick. I have tried calling the store to see if people showed up, no answer. I will have to go somewhere else but I love the convenience of shopping while my car is being serviced. read more

A BIG SHOUT OUT to Kathy, Customer Service Manager and Jose, Assistant Store Manager. Kathy had approved, over the phone, a return for a few gifts that my son had received and I didn't have a receipt. Jose honored the return. They both demonstrated that Walmart's customer service is outstanding! I really appreciated their support with this particular return and it emphasizes that Walmart does put the customer first. Walmart's mission statement is "Saving people money so they can live better." This statement is synonymous to the company's slogan, "Save money. Live better." I've come to this particular Walmart for many many years. Just like all the other typical Walmarts you have the crazy shoppers (like me) and the other folks that are here to serve you. The reason for the low review today is due to the fact that every single time I come into this Walmart they allow their smoker employees to sit out front and smoke. So are you breathing the secondhand smoke moment you walk into the store. It is ridiculous! Can somebody please step up to the plate and do something about this? I was just calling for an update to see when it would be ready and first I was told they cannot find my order, then a manager answered only to put me on hold and never come back, and finally another lady answered (the only nice one) who said they are preparing the order now. This has by far been the worst customer service experience I have ever been through. Everything is all piled up on top of each-other, gross isles, and not to mention rude employees. My Wife and I went through the "speedy checkout" section and the lady had us wait 30 minutes to buy our items. What we were buying was on sale but she did not agree with that for some reason so she called the manager and argued with her until she finally gave us the right price and we could leave. I would love to give the Tire and Lube department a better review, yet sadly the tire placed BACKWARDS on my car, and subsequent spin out on the middle of the 118 freeway, keeps me from doing so. I am at the vision center and I am extremely dissatisfied with the service. The manager made promises he didn't keep- stating he would make an arduous process easy for me if I waited 30 minutes. I told him I was in a time crunch he promised it would be quick. I have now been here for 2 1/2 hours and I am furious. The appointment to simply change the type of contact I was getting was delayed and took for ever. The manager was then no where to be found and wouldn't come out of the closet where he was having a "meeting" that appeared to be more of a personal appointment. Marco Torres told us he would be there to help us and he wasn't. He said "I will be right here after your appointment if you wait the 30 minutes and then I will help you get the exchange done so it goes quickly and easily". That is not what happened. Then the only women who could help us exchange the contacts, Jamie or what ever, was unable to help us because she was currently busy with other customers. When she finally was done it felt like she was giving attitude and purposely going slower. I would not go back there. I would not suggest you go there either. read more

Honestly doesn't deserve one star. Ordered items online and were delivered two days prior to me being able to take a moment to get to Walmart. Well I got off work and walked to the online pick up area sat for almost an hour and a half maybe more with no one helping me. Pressed the assistance help key pad hoping that maybe an associate would finally get to me and assist me with my purchase. Well sadly this didn't happen. While sitting in the back room I counted 15 associates walk past me multiple times and not once was I asked if I had been helped. This is specifically for the vision center, my service persons and Doctor were very quick and professional and I was able to get my old lenses into cheap frames while my new glasses are being made. If I could give 0 stars I would. The manager (tall deep voiced woman) lacks respect and professionalism. They had a pricing error so I brought it up to the associate she went to tell the manager and the manager wanted nothing done to help or check their error. I then had to request her to check. When she finally decided to come by 5 min later she right away came with an attitude without even trying to review the situation I then explained to her where the item was. Had to tell her how rude she was which only made her become even more rude. She then came back after minutes of "searching" and not being able to find the item. It took me calling customer service for her to even try to fix the problem. If things were placed in the right place there wouldn't have been a problem. If you are going to be that miserable and disrespectful do not come to work. The only good part of this experience was the elderly lady helping me out. I called and asked to be transferred to the auto center, but kept being transferred to the wrong department after the 4th wrong department I hung up and called again asking for a customer service rep. Finally got in touch with a representative as explaining my issue I was cut off and aggressively asked "so what is your question?" I stated my question about an exchange,do to the product being the wrong size, and without hesitation I was told "yeah, we can't do anything about that" the best they could do was tell me to just buy another one of the products I was looking to exchange. I would've marked this Walmart lower, but I did have an experience that made me rethink what kind of rating this place should have. I left a wallet by a worker in my haste to get to a meeting, and when I realized what happened hours later, not only did I find the staff had reported my wallet to lost and found, but they also counted all my money and kept a note in it to make sure the amount stayed the same for when I'd pick it up. U;m not saying all the workers at Walmart would do the same thing, but it is worth noting that there are decent people who work here...for now. So, despite the lazy service and rude workers (usually around the fitting rooms, but can be found anywhere, really), at least some part of this Walmart is functioning with integrity, and that's a kind of classy I rarely experience with stores nowadays. read more

This is by far my favorite Walmart in Simi Valley. It has more selection than the other one on Cochran! And I think the employees at this one know more about what they are doing. Everyone loves a great deal, and wal mart is a great place to go for their "roll backs" Wal also has some amazing black friday deals. This year however, wal mart decided to stay open and let the entire city of simi valley cram into the store, stand around and wait for the sales to start at 10pm thanksgiving night. Wal mart did not regulate how many people were inside the store at once or enforce any kind of organized lines. Any alise that had a special offer was filled with people, blocking the entire alise. I have gone to wal mart on black friday before and i prefer to sleep out in the cold rather than be packed inside with too many people. I really hope wal mart was fined for the fire hazard they caused by not closing. It was insane.
