I really have no idea why I would review a WALLY WORLD, AKA WalMart. I mean, have you seen the website, People Of WalMart? It's online, and I am not promoting them, but they have some photos of people who show up in WalMaRTS ALL OVER THE COUNTRY in all their glory. I mean, there just seems to be a DISTINCT... is that a good word? Distinct sort of person that seems to gravitate towards spending their days AND NIGHTS trolling around this place.
Of course, I have been in here, so who's to talk then? I mean, I have been able to seemlessly return many items here, without any hassle, and their Customer Care seems pretty darn good for a WalMart. Once I rode there on my bike after getting a really FAT CHECK, I mean, PHAT. And I overspent of course, but I could NOT in this wide world of physics get all that crap on my bike and myself included, to peddle my way back down the streets to my house, which is about 2.6 miles away, give or take a tenth of a mile. And sometimes it has been raining on top of these things. But in this case, I was in some K Hole or something, because my phone was dead, of course, and I could not call ANYONE to come pick me up. The one person I reached had some lame ass excuse as to why she couldn't come in her car to get me. Like something about a tail light being out? Something lame, regardless.
So Customer Service called me a cab, how nice of them to do that! And for free. Now that's what I am talking about.
The only thing I do not like is how their policy, which is storewide, not just this location, is on electronics and things bought in that department. I wanted to return my Nintendo Wii extra controller (both components), right after I got it and realized I had no one really who wanted to play with me on my Wii (I live with too many old people), and they only had a 2 WEEK policy on returns. I mean, WHA? Everything else is 90 days, except most electronics are 30 days, but somehow there are these other items that fall under the 2 weeks policy. I hate that. So I had to keep the thing, played one game of bowling with some lady I don't like, and then ended up selling it to GameStop -- the Nintendo Wii special edition black, 2 brand new controllers and everything, and in mint condition pretty much, for only $70, when I paid well closer to $300.... I was so peeved... but I digest...
Anyway, this WalMart is sort of lame because they can't decide if they want to be a full SUPER WalMart, with the produce and all that, because they do have a few food aisles and all right in the middle of the store. But they don't have any PRODUCE, as in FRESH FOOD. I think that may be changing now, i don't know, I haven't been back to that store since probably I first tagged this to write a review, like 6 months ago?
I like their little make-up aisles, but it's not as good as the Target's aisles. Their supplements are all too expensive, even for a WalMart. And they added this weird party section where you can buy things to make other things, like sticker makers, typeset tools, balloons, party supplies and sack stuffers, but nothing really COOL.
I looked for something to filter the air and clean what I have to breathe, because I am the only non-smoker anywhere I ever live it seems, so I tried to peep on what they had, and of course their selection was very lame and didn't really offer anything but 1 thing. I was disappointed.
I once was fixing up a new bike someone gave me after my BMX bike was stolen from the Castro in Frisco (can you imagine, at like 10pm, just popping into their Walgreens there to pick something up, getting sucked in to their cooler stuiff, and then walking out into a huge crowd of people and walking around up and down the street looking for my bike, but it was gone? I finally found my lock -- a Walgreens brand, of course, neatly clipped, on the ground where it was locked up to one of those metal bike parking things in Frisco. I was so pissed!! But I got a new bike, which brings me back to WALGREENS) -- and the bike had mismatching wheels on it. I don't know the back story on the bike, but it was a nice, adult bike, so I accepted, and I went to fix it up. It needed a 24" in the front and a 22" on the back. Eventually I upgraded to both being 24" wheels, but when I went back to WalMart, they had absolutely NO 24" bike tubes for sale all of a sudden. They had EVERY OTHER POSSIBLE NUMBER AVAILABLE, even a 27" a few places, but NO 24" bike tubes. I found ONE 24" generic bike tire for it, so I had to take it to a bike store to buy the tube and get it installed, since it was the rear tire and I wasn't sure how to do the whole, uh, what is that, gears thing -- sprocket? I didn't have a sprocket wrench, so anyway, that's how I got my bike working.
But no thanks to WalMart. Recently we just got a new 26" wheeled bike for the house we live in, and one of the tenants here swears she went by WalMart (this one) and looked for a 26" tube, and guess what? THEY ARE OUT! Sheesh. read more
