Walmart is an American institution - let's hope it doesn't end up like Montgomery Ward or Sears - they have a little of everything in the store. We only needed a few things and don't often go to Walmart (I don't recall the last time we were there. In terms of inventory - they have everything and their prices are good. Many of the times we were there, it was messy - items on the floor rather than hung up or put back on the shelves, but this time it was neat and tidy. There weren't many shoppers, perhaps because it was a Sunday morning when we were there. The issue with Walmart like most other retailers these days is staffing. There isn't anyone around to provide help if you need it. This time was no different. The only workers we saw were manning the cash registers. If you know what you want, know they have it in stock, and have a general idea of the layout of the store, I'm sure you can find what you need. In cases like ours where we are not regulars and don't know the floor layout, finding items isn't easy and there is no one there to help you. So, for the cleanliness today and the fact they had everything we were looking for at the right price - 4 stars. But since there is virtually no customer service, I'm knocking it down one star to 3. read more

Visited Walmart early in the morning to start our day. Needed various greeting cards for the upcoming holidays, birthdays, and special occasions. We did pick up various cards, but couldn't find the exact one ("First Communion") that we were looking for, so ended up picking up a generic 'Congratulations' card. It wasn't too crowded this early in the morning, and checkout was simple due to the numerous self-checkout lanes. This Walmart has a Subway inside of it, along with a Vision center. read more

I ordered tires from Walmart. Com twice. They first shipped tires that were 8 years old. Not even legal to sell. Had to start over. Next set of tires were 3 years old. Decided to take them anyway, but when they were installed, they left the old valve stems and one of the new tires was flat the next day. I'm lucky to have a compressor to fill it up again and take back to Walmart. Anyone else would have to have it towed back! UNACCEPTABLE!! Normally I have horrible experiences in Walmarts and today I was having one of the worst days I've had in ages. I was on the verge of tears walking into the store and frankly kind of told myself maybe I shouldn't even try shopping with the bad mood that I was in and my history of bad Walmart experiences. Well, I'm glad I went in because yes, there was the usual frustration them discontinuing items I needed, being out of stock of items I needed, and, on a much less important level, the bizarre fact that they had about 15 different flavors of M&Ms, and none of them were dark chocolate. I can get the dark chocolate m&ms at Jewel and at Walgreens, but instead of having something as basic as dark chocolate at Walmart, they had some of the most obscure and bizarre flavors ever. Weird! But anyway, by the time I got to check out I was very flustered and, not in a good place and I very carefully scanned all of my items and then when I went to pay, I realized that I hadn't entered my phone number and I really like it when my purchases all show up on the app. I kind of need that, to help me keep track of things, because I am disabled and my cognitive processing skills are not always the best. So long story short, I panicked, and DAWN came and saved the day. It took me a while to explain what I was trying to do, because my communication skills are poor, but then she explained to me very patiently and kindly, that I could just scan the barcode on my receipt from the app, and my purchases would be recorded. In fact, she was ready and willing to walk me through the steps right then and there, but I didn't have the app downloaded on my iPhone. (I did it on my iPad when I got home and it worked perfectly) :) My experience with Walmart employees is usually that all they care about is when their shift is over, and they don't care about helping you at all. Dawn was the complete opposite of that. She was so compassionate and helpful and didn't judge me and frankly, I just wanted to give her a hug. And a party size bag of dark chocolate M&Ms! ;) Dawn, if you ever see this, thank you for your kindness. You were a bright light in a VERY dark day. Don't shop here! I ordered a Pyrex kitchen storage set for pick up. I picked up my item no problem. But when I got home I noticed the lids were broken. They placed the item in the bag with the broken section inside the bag so that I wouldn't notice it broken. Once I realized the item was broken I had to drive back to Walmart to exchange the item, I went to customer service and they wouldn't get the item for me to exchange, It had to be a refund to my card or gift card. I got the refund to a gift card since I had to buy the item again anyways. When I went to find the Pyrex set I noticed 4 out of the 5 remaining sets were broken as well. ( so 5/6 set were broken in the store). I grabbed the non-broken set and went to check out with my gift card. The cashier scanned the item and took the gift card for payment I then said I still owed $1.36. HOW did I owe money if It was an item for item exchange!!!! Do not go to this Walmart they do not care for their products or their customer. It's worth the money to go to meijer or target. read more

There was a very good selection of items in the store. However, I did notice how many of the grocery and market items were not fully stocked and the shows did look like they were not very organized. Unfortunately, however I did appreciate how to stop is very helpful and did seem to communicate with each other to help me find the items I need it so in that department I was very satisfied. read more

I normally wouldnt review and rate a Walmart...because it's Walmart... but this is the cleanest Walmart I've been to. This location is large and it doesnt have that Walmart-y smell that other location have... I don't even know how to describe the smell, but I'm sure you know what I mean. They, like any Walmart location, have all different kinds of necessities for cheaper prices. I bought Halloween candy for my classes here. Normally, I buy 200 piece bags of candy for at least $15 at Jewel, but today I bought that size bag for $9.95! When I bought my things today, I went through the self checkout which worked out well for me, and my parents went to an actual line with a cashier, and it took forever! Rough, rough, rough Walmart! I could tell some stories about people at this Walmart, but let's just say I could have added some interesting photos to PeopleofWalmartdotcom. I try to avoid this Wal-Mart and go to the Elk Grove Village location on Meachem whenever I can. On my most recent I had to pick up something from shopping Site to Store. Their Site to Store desk is all the way at the back of the megacenter, seems a bit strange not to have it up at customer service. I walked back and waited...waited...waited...As many workers walked by and nobody helped. Finally an employee told me someone would be there to help soon. Waited some more...A guy finally came and chastised me for not pressing a button for help instead of apologized for my waiting. I didn't see anything I could press for assistance...so confused...and a worker told me someone was coming. Anyways, he got my laptop out but it involved more waiting for a second person. I have no idea what the issue was, he didn't tell me, I just knew we were both standing there in silence for a couple minutes. Super frustrating! This location is so UUgGgggGh. The highlights of this Walmart are their auto center (most of the guys there are knowledgeable and very helpful) and the cute 'goodbye grandpa' at the front of the store. read more

It's a great store, if you're looking for the gift to someone or need to choose something for holidays or different events. Stop in to buy some things for the house.. 9/2/2023 after going thru self check out and opting for a receipt to be text message to me as I always do to have a saved form instead of a paper that I can lose. Got to the door and after the guy they pay that acts of they actually look at what's in your cart by asking for receipt. I told him I had it text to me. The security or lady manager. Came out and said they have to investigate. She went back to the register printed out the receipt and clearly saw that I paid but now being stuck in her feelings and having a big ego decided to waste another hour of my time saying oh, I have to review the camera footage once she reviewed the camera footage and saw that everything was in order. She close the door and sent somebody else out to refund my money because at that point I'm not going shop with a company that treats you as a criminal over $100 worth of merchandise. No apology or nothing she locked her self in office. Horrible people do horrible things:. I stated to them why I give the option to have your receipt emailed or text to you if they're going to have to waste an hour of your time investigating if you paid or not. They responded you should have your phone to prove you paid then. I didn't know it was mandatory to have carry you phone with you. But I guess it's law at Walmart or be embarrassed in front of hundreds and be treat as a thief. read more

This is one of my regular stores to go when I need something so I can say I am here at least once a week if not more. Overall I really enjoying coming to this location because it is clean, always restocked and well organized so that things are easy to find. I wanted to say that since they have put in self checkout registers my experience has really been wonderful. The lines go by so much faster and if you need help using self check out there is always some there to help you. Another really great aspect is the pick up option which they offer. I have been recently using it for Christmas shopping and it is one of the easiest pick up centers I have experienced. When you enter the store there will be a sign stating that the pick up center is in the back of the store and once you get there it is a big orange entrance (hard to miss). The only thing that I absolute hate is the auto center, the service is beyond terrible. A couple weeks ago I ordered tires and before placing the order I made sure I could have them switched out when I come pick them up,I spoke with some who said it was no problem. Arriving on pick up day that was not the case, I was assisted by a rude lady at the service desk which was of little help. When asking how long it would take because I came to get my tires changed she almost laughed and said I can come back in two weeks. This type of attitude is unacceptable!!! After talking she insisted I wait 4 hours that was definitely a no especially since they were finishing up one car. Although the auto center is a mess I still like coming to the store to grab things that I need for home. read more

Very dirty store, everything is out of place. Food from freezer left out and I have seen Walmart employees put it back instead of throwing it away! Never have anything I'm looking for. LOVE THE FABRIC DEPARTMENT! I went here because it is one of the few Walmart's that still has fabric with a cutting counter. The employees were super friendly and helpful! I will shop here again. This Walmart is doing a TERRIBLE job enforcing mask wearing in their store. Many employees are wearing masks with their noses sticking out. Customers are doing the same and worse. I Saw several customers walking around with masks pulled down to expose their entire face. One special idiot had a bandanna tied so loose it just hung away from his entire face. Employees/Staff needs retraining - The talk to you like they own the place (Nita or Nipa). They order that you can't do that or this. Last time I checked I am the customer (excuse me "paying customer"), and not here to follow your orders like a servant. Nothing Special about this Walmart it's average at best. I find it to be super unorganized and not labeled very well as to where things are located in the store. It's always packed and the parking lot is pure chaos. They do have a big grocery section but it's not a full size. They have all the dry stuff and a small section of frozen and cold. If zero stars was an option, that would be my rating. My 18 mo old son was attacked by a customer at the Rolling Meadows location. After calling the cops and filing a report, I asked the customer service desk if I could speak to the store manager to make sure the footage of the incident was released so that we are able to file a lawsuit against the perpetrator. The manager on duty said that "this is the first time" he was hearing of it. I am sorry. If you are the manager on duty, and there is an incident at your store, you would THINK you'd be aware of the incident. For example, if someone was injured at, let's say Target, there is paperwork that needs to be filled out and DOCUMENTED. Nope. Walmart fails not only in their customer service and products but also in the overall safety of their employees and customers. I will never return. read more

Worst customer service desk ever. Long lines with only one employee-- only go here if you're ready to wait and get frustrated! And apparently this store does not have large bags... Finally found the weighted hula hoop for $20! Also, unlike the Walmart of Melrose Park and Skokie, there are actually nice people that work here and it's cleaner than any other Walmart that I've had the displeasure to visit. They're getting five stars because they had a variety of toilet paper. Charmin, Angel Soft, Cottonelle, Scotts, generic. If you are reading this and still on the stay at home order, you understand my review during these stressful times. It's been hard to find certain items like toliet paper, hand sanitizer and various cleaning products during the COVID19 pandemic. If you are reading this and confused, I am happy to say the heart breaking pandemic is over. Toliet paper is hard to find in the city with these crazy hoarders and manufacturers struggling with shifting from scratchy one ply toliet paper found in public restrooms to soft as cloud home toliet paper. I wandered out to the burbs and this Walmart's supply really surprised me. Check this location out or consider going to home depot and looking for a bidet. There havent been lines to get into this walmart but I could be going at off times. Lines suck but our safety is a priority. The only thing I dont like about this location is the small selection in the frozen section. Stay safe and clean. read more

Visited car center and wanted to purchase 4 tires and have them installed. One of the worker was very helpful (older lady). She had already giving me a quote when another attendant (supervisor) interrupted us stating that another customer should go.first. she was so rude that I decided to take my business to Pepboys in despite of the difference in price. Worst experience ever with the auto center for changing just two tires and here is the story. I made the purchase of two tire via Walmart website with the ability to mount them to my closest Walmart. I made the appointment via their website but unfortunately I went the at the time specified at 6:45 am guess what the staff start to show up at 07:30 am and no system is operating in their computers. Later I struggled to communicate with the auto center manager because no one was there in the first place. I tried to talk to the store manager but her is not there as well. I lost 2.5 hours for two tires mount and no manager to talk to. read more

Living in Virginia, the state controls all hard liqour sales through the Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC). So ... this Walmart has all you'd expect to find at a Walmart. I thought that since Walmart started stocking organic stuff, they had cleaned up their act. Not so. The last time I was here, the store was disorganized, they were out of a number of things, there were inconsistencies between the listed prices of items, and it looked like most of the staff was comprised of either high school dropouts who didn't care what was happening or senior citizens who needed help getting around, rather than being in a position to help people get things off of shelves. The counter in the sporting goods section wasn't staffed, and we had to wait about 15 minutes for some guy to come help us who wasn't actually very helpful. The staff could not tell me the difference between two nearly-identical air filters that were priced very differently. Carts roamed the parking lot like sharks on the prowl for vehicular prey. Here are good reasons to come to Walmart: 1) You aren't feeling cynical enough. 2) You need to see a mullet. 3) You're skeptical of all those reports that the Chicago area is full of obese people and want some proof. 4) Somebody is going to punch you in the face and you need to get into a mindset where you actually want it. Also, just a note to the "FREEDOM! PATRIOTISM! ROAAAAR!" type people who might call me a terrorist for not liking Walmart because "WALMART IS AMERICAN! WOOAH!" Walmart has more items made in China than Target. I know because I checked. My floor rug is from Target and it was made in the United States. All the smoke detectors I looked at while I was at Walmart were made in China. The soccer balls at Walmart are made in little Asian island countries whereas at least one brand at Target is a brand guaranteed to be made without child labor. I'm not saying Target has no room to improve, because they do. I'm just saying that you're wrong if you think eveything at Walmart is "saving American jobs" or "keeping China from taking over the world" or somehow "supporting our troops." Even the actual American flags sold at Walmart are made in China! How's that for patriotism? In short: skip this place. Go somewhere else. Heck, depending on what it is, just go without. This is by far the worst Wal-Mart I have ever been to. Shopping here is equivalent to being hit with a sack of potatoes. As soon as you walk in you can tell this Wal-Mart is more cluttered than most of the other ones. Another thing I noticed about this Wal-Mart is it isn't layed out like most of the other Wal-Mart's. I was looking for the food department & it took me about 5 minutes to find it because it wasn't where it was in other Wal-Mart's. The customers here were also horrible. Everyone was in the opposite lane with their carts & blockin aisles. They also didn't seem to have as good of a food selection as other Wal-Mart's. Overall this was the worst Wal-Mart I have been to & I will go to Meijer across the street instead next time. read more

Came here to get a tire patched due to running over a nail. Quote was $10. While that is cheap, it took them almost an hour to do a 10 minute repair because the mechanic kept walking away from the job to talk to other mechanics. Next time I'll pay the extra money and go elsewhere. read more
