It's been over 5 days and my Google Maps review is not posted still yet. So I decided to post it from here assuming Yelp is going to put this online right away.
Here is my original review. - It was too long so I had to post as 2 parts from 2 different gmail accounts. And yes both of them is not still posted.
Hi Everyone and Management Team,
I am a regular customer at this location and generally enjoy shopping here. However, I recently had an upsetting interaction with one of your employees, during which I was threatened with being issued a trespass. I would like to document the situation in detail so that nothing is left out.
Incident Details
I visited your store on Sunday, Dec 7 at approximately 10:48 PM to make a quick purchase. As I entered, one of your employees said to me, "Hey man we are almost closed" in a rather bitter tone. I assumed he might have had a rough day and replied, "Alright, this would be a quick thing".
I went to the shelf, found the item I needed, and took maybe another couple of minutes while being mindful of the time to ensure it was still not 11:00 PM. At exactly 11:00 PM, the same employee came and told me that it was 11 PM, so I headed toward self-checkout. At this point, his attitude escalated. He was visibly more frustrated and said, "Hey man I told you its almost 11 and you still inside".
I was confused about why he was turning this into such a big issue, but I responded, "alright I am going to register already" and proceeded to the self-checkout.
At self-checkout, I realized I had forgotten my wallet in my car. I attempted to pay with Apple Pay, then remembered Walmart does not accept it. I then opened Walmart Pay and tried to quickly add my digital card from my mobile banking application. As you know, this takes a bit of time, and by then it was around 11:08 PM.
The same employee approached me and said, "Hey man are you alright?" as if why are you still here? I answered, "Yes I am, walmart doesnt accepts Apple pay so I am adding my card information to Walmart Pay so I can finalize my purchase transaction". He then replied, "Remember I told you we are closing soon. But, noo, you take your time". His tone and attitude made it feel as though he was talking down to me, as if I were beneath him. It felt very disrespectful and unprofessional.
When Walmart Pay froze on the address section, I called him over and said, "come take a look at it, walmart pay got stuck, it doesnt slide for the address section (where you put the billing address of your card) and you are treating me like a child or as you are above me". He responded, "yeah no thats your problem, I told you we were closing at 11 and you were taking so long so we are unable to go our home because you are still here".
While I can understand staff wanting to go home on time, the way he spoke to me, especially in front of other customers, was humiliating. I then said, "ok take the products, I will leave so you all can go home." Instead of de-escalating, he continued with, "That's fine by me, that's not my problem, that's your problem".
At that point, I left the items and headed out, but his words and attitude stayed with me. The reasoning that they want to close on time is understandable and that's why I left my items and left; however, the way he handled it, the lack of respect, and the way he positioned himself as "above" me made the experience feel terrible.
Requesting His Name & Escalation
Because of how he treated me, I decided to go back inside to ask for his name so I could file a formal complaint. He refused to provide his name. Since he would not identify himself, I took out my phone and recorded his face so I could accurately report the situation and possibly speak with a manager in person later.
As soon as I did this,
