Average Target location. If you frequent Target enough, you're familiar with both the stock and the layout and this location is no exception. This particular location was a little understocked in general and a little messy in some areas. Employees were non-existent - not that I'm complaining. I'd rather not deal with Target employees in general if I can help it due to most locations' employees being sub-par, unwelcoming, rude, lethargic, and overall poor. Parking lot is decent, though on the smaller end when comparing it to the Home Depot lot right next door. Overall, it's a Target. Nothing special here, but I suppose for locals in the area it's okay. I've been to much worse Targets than this one (those who call this the 'worst Target' haven't seen the locations much worse than this one) so if you think this one is that bad, count your blessings that you haven't been to even worse ones - because they're out there. Disappointed in the service I received. I did drive up service for convenience. It was quite a bit of wait which I understand. What was upsetting was that I was the clothes was handed to me all messy - not even folded nicely. It was just a pileup. The pair of pants that I purchased were so dirty. It was gross. I have always been a big Target shopper. I like their selection and their prices are usually good. Today when shopping at our local target we learned that they don't allow dogs. Evidently this is a new rule. Because I have been shopping with my small senior dog in his stroller for years. There are new signs on the carts that say dogs cannot go in the carts. Which is understandable. When we entered the store a sales associate told us we couldn't put the dog in the cart and figured we wouldn't since we had him in a stroller. Which she said is fine. After shopping for about an hour another sales associate told us the dog has to leave the store. Btw, its 10 degrees out today so leaving the dog in the car is not an option. As other retailers are becoming more dog friendly, it seems Target is going against the trend. On Friday, I went to this Target with my friend for the first time ever and since lockdown ended. I thought the store was well maintained and organized. For me, it's a little weird going into clothing stores now or shopping for clothes. Malls have reopened along with other retail shops, but public health/safety standards still do not allow for trying on clothes. Throughout the apparel sections in Target, there are signs advising customers to not try on merchandise. This is a good thing, the signs and warnings, but for a still-timid shopper during the loosening up of lockdown it can be slightly triggering. Just saying in case you're in a similar boat like me. Don't believe Target when they offer same day delivery. I order $150 worth of items for same day delivery yesterday, and they still have not arrived today. I chose a 3-4PM slot. When I hadn't heard by 6PM I called customer service. I was told they had no "pickers" to shop for my items but that they had escalated my order, and I would be at the front of the line for the 7PM slot. I have not heard from Target since, apart from two customer service surveys promptly sent to me (!) Target should not offer a service they can't actually provide. read more

Bought a sealed! Video game here. There was no game cartridge inside. Apparently it's a thing for people to return empty gaming boxes and the employees wouldn't check the inside as they got sealed again. What a scam! Calling the hotline has been a nightmare, after 3-4 tries and 4-6 weeks later I finally got a email answer that I can bring the empty box back. In the store the employee would not know about anything and not take it. Didn't have time to discuss but will come back in the next weeks! Target of Riverdale, NJ is a sub-rate, terribly managed Target that violates consumer law, resorts to false and deceptive business practices, and doesn't even follow Target's own promised policies! Target promises a price-match policy with advertisements from nearby competing stores, whether food stores or non-food retailers. But when a price was literally verified by two Target employees - one a front-end manager - from Shop Rite's online weekly sales advertisement pulled up on their own cellphones, the excuse the Riverdale Target gave for violating that policy was that their price match app (which customers have no access to!) supposedly did not recognize Shop Rite as a competitor! That's total BS, as Shop Rite is a major competitor of any store selling food in North Jersey and throughout the state, and other Targets willingly match Shop Rite's prices. But not Target Riverdale---after wasting over 10 minutes verifying the sale price ($1.99 at ShopRite versus $3.59 at Target for a loaf of Thomas's Cinnamon Raisin Bread). But Target Riverdale wasn't finished violating consumer law yet. After failing to honor their price-match policy, they refused to give a rain check on their own advertised sale price for Veggies Made Great fritattas and muffins---posted as being on sale at Target for $5.49 (versus $5.99 or $6.39 regular price)--but being out of stock on two of the advertised sale product varieties. As customers know, a "sale" without stock or a readily given raincheck for when stock returns to store shelves or freezer cases is nothing more than a SCAM, because the sale price is rendered meaningless. I have never had a problem where with customer service or support. Any associate I interact with is always ready and willing to help me .. with a smile! I don't see this in a lot of retail stores today as people don't seem to want to work or do their job anymore and good customer service seems to be a lost art. But I find the associates here to be very helpful and they make me feel like a valued customer. Was very disappointed with the condition of the store..everything was in disarray. I saw staff, but no one was fixing the mess. Got ladies underwear and it was torn apart, mismatched, open packages... horrible! Went to check out rugs and the candle cart was in the way. I went today to pick up an online order for my daughter that was supposed to be delivered Feb. 6th . When we got there the nice gentleman told me it had not arrived yet. Ons stead of just brushing it off as no big deal he call a manager to help. She then informed me of my options being the toy wouldn't arrive until while we were away. We went to browse the store in another area and on our way out the manager caught our attention and had found our item. She went through the trouble of going back to the shipping area to find the item and told me how it must not of been scanned in yet . To both employees (wishing I had gotten their names) the manager wore glasses . Thankyou !! You made my child's night and a mom who lives 40 min from this location happy ! This store is clean, organized, always has what you need, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The only reason for 3 instead of 5 stars is there is always, ALWAYS a long line. Today I'm waiting in the long line, which is to be expected for a Saturday afternoon, but it seems like there are always only a few registers open with long lines. This review is not about Target per say but about their Red-Card. Recently I reported fraudulent activity due to a payment returned from their web site. It came from an account that was never authorized or added. After several hours of being hung up on, re-routed to several different departments, letters to their Head Quarters office and a complaint to the BBB. They say the issue isn't their problem. And they have closed my account leaving the bill intact and rudely informing me of a life time ban. For no reason I have been charged. I have never experienced more disgusting service then I have with this. It will be a long time before I set foot in another target! I know my issue is with their credit card company but their customer service on the phone is a true testament to their lack of care and support. Shame!!!!! read more

This past Friday evening my wife and young daughter went to Target in Riverdale, NJ. My daughter found a Hot pink Stanley cup on the shelf and loved it. As they continued shopping an associate saw them with the cup and took it from them claiming it wasn't supposed to be on the shelf. After speaking with the manager they weren't allowed to purchase the cup. They were told they'd have plenty of stock for sale on Dec. 31st. Well I took her back today, Dec. 31st and big shocker there were non on the shelves. Now the right thing to do being that they screwed up was to make one available for my daughter. But they instead did nothing. All these stores make empty promises and we just walk away and do nothing. Not today! I know there are store employees out there who take advantage of these hot ticket items and scoop up all the inventory for themselves with their inside information on release dates and times. I was charged twice for my purchase, and when asked to speak to someone the woman told me i wasn't charged twice there was an error... even though my bank took the money out. She then told me she works at a bank and that it would be fine in 2 days. It wasn't fine I had to dispute the charge like I thought. She kept gaslighting me the entire time. I asked for my recipt and she yelled several times that I had one which I didn't. She told me I couldn't get another one. Only after I told her I worked in retail customer service and yes there is a way to get me one did she call a manager over. I'm not sure why this woman fought me every step of the way when she was wrong both times about the charge and the recipt, but never in my 12 years in retail would I have spoken to someone like that. My main complaint is that (Twice) recently the women's bathroom was so dirty that I was unable to use it. It was around 11:55pm and I getting my daughter's birthday presents was and this young geeky kid scrrans at me to " Get the hell out of my store it's closed". Meanwhile there were other costumers in the store and I was leaving but he kept yelling and telling my you can't check out cause all the cashiers were closed which was a lie!! Today I did an online pick up for the last three frames in the store. I came as soon as I got the e-mail that my order was ready which was within an hour and a half. After waiting in the store for over 20 minutes they told me that someone gave my order away to someone. After being told that news they gave me a refund and a $10 gift card. I will not be going back. Target seems to be a generous company in terms of giving to causes, so I wish I had better things to say about this store. So many points to consider....the price guessing game is the biggest failing: many items are missing prices...shelf price labels are missing, items in wrong places when prices are posted, display prices noted for some items on display and missing for others. Also, not enough checkouts on a busy Sat morning; the teens working there seem to be trying their best. Atmosphere is dreary and music-less; this is borne out in the nastiness of some customers, yelling at their children or other customers in the narrow aisles made narrower by abandoned carts. High prices compared to competitors' prices. I rarely go to that store and even prefer the local Walmart to the Riverdale Target. read more

I went to the Target in Rockaway NJ Earlier today because I was in the area and I found some pants and a sweater that I liked. I took them home try them on and they didn't fit so now I am trying to return them to the target in Riverdale. I am being told that there is some silly policy that you can't do a same-day returns from a different store. Besides that I am baffled that this is actually a policy for some reason because it makes absolutely no sense, I am also wondering why I have been standing here for over 15 minutes waiting for the manager to come in and either explain or take these clothes back. Unless they called this manager at home and he or she has to shower and get back here, I have no idea why it would take them this long to walk across the store to talk to a customer. Came to this Target in search of a few items from the Target 20th Anniversary collection. (This must have been the 8th Target I visited in NJ .) Although I didn't find what I was looking for, I rated this Target: Five stars-- for very friendly and helpful customer service; the lady in charge of the 20th anniversary collection checked to see if the items I was looking for were in stock elsewhere (at other nearby Target's); she also checked their return section; and was knowledgeable in answering my questions about what happened to the floor merchandise when this collection would be phased out. Five stars-- for organized shelves. The shelves for the 20th anniversary collection were organized; items easy to find. Not messy. I would visit this Target again when in that particular NJ area! read more

This is my go to Target location. Store is extremely clean and well stocked. There is the main parking lot and lower level with an elevator up to the store which is a plus on rainy days! Inside you can also find a Starbucks and Pizza Hut. They could use a couple more registers open on the weekend. Also make sure to check the dates on some of the refrigerator items. read more

I've been a Target customer for well over a decade now. I love Target. When living in urban areas without a car, I would sometimes walk over a mile to get to Target. I shudder thinking about how much money I have given to Target over the years. I cannot count on two hands all the Target locations I have been to in my lifetime. But this, by far and away, is the best Target I have ever been to. It's a pretty new building. The place is very well stocked, hardly any empty shelves. The clearance racks for clothing are impeccably organized by size (something I have never, ever seen before at a Target). They have many size 11 shoes available. They have one of the widest selection of purses I have ever seen at a Target. They also have a little bridge on the northern side of the parking lot which brings cars directly to a Rt 23 intersection. That way, if you want to head South-bound, you don't have to exit back onto it North-bound and drive up to the jug-handle before getting back on South-bound. Try to avoid speaking at all with the girl working at the snack bar up front. All I wanted was a bag of popcorn to nibble on while shopping. I had to wait about three minutes for her to finish her conversation with the customer in line in front of me. Then, my friend made the mistake of asking her about whether they carried a particular food item. Needless to say, I got to hear several life stories and a description of the freezer section as I awkwardly tried to end the conversation. read more
