Cashier was rude, I couldn't even understand him. He spoke like he had marbles in his mouth.

I have been to this Grocery Store 1 time.. here is my experience. 1. It's in a weird, odd strip mall with 2 separate different entrances. Once you "pick one" and enter.. how do you get to actually get your food? You have to go through the people in the check out lanes? Just weird! 2. CLUTTERED- Stuff everywhere which gives me anxiety 3. Dirty - this is a big one for me wherever I go but no lie.. the cereal boxes have dust on them. Hmmm think about that. Either they have been sitting THAT long.. or, that much dirt and dust blows through that place. Either way.. yuck 4. Choices - nothing special 5. Overall - pass I would rather pay 2 cents more per item at a cleaner store. read more

Clean, fresh, friendly, we have shopped here for years and it has a great selection of the natural and organic goods we buy. The fresh produce selection is particularly great. read more

Everytime I go too the deli there is never enough help. Tonight 6:30 pm,1 person in front of me,4 behind me. I guy taking care of customers in line. Took him 15 mins too do 1/4 of cheese & 1/2 of turkey. While the other people behind the counter avoided the people in line. This happens all the time. Your staff does not know customer service. Several times it was brought too the managers attention,still he was done nothing. I will no longer purchase from their deli. Honestly they suck. read more

This Stop and Shop was recently converted from the old Pathmark that was here. Sure the store has the old bones of its previous tenant, but I gotta say, for only being closed for two weeks, they seemed to get a decent amount of work done. They replaced all those rusty old check-out lanes to those new high tech ones, along with self check-out and those self scan guns you can use to scan and bag your groceries while shopping. The decor and signage are slightly updated giving the store a newish appearance. I would have liked to see them change the layout; the produce department being in the middle of the store is just weird, but I guess they couldn't move any of that stuff around in only two weeks. The selection is just okay, some areas are improved on what Pathmark had, but it seems like they need to do a better job with their natural foods area. That little alcove just doesn't cut it. All in all, it's not a bad super market, but not a great one either. read more

Very dirty or rather filthy store. People could be friendly. Prices same or little higher than other stores. Old store needs updating.

So I was doing my weekly shopping this morning here. I was looking for distilled water and there wasn't any for the first time I have ever been here. So I went to the next aisle thinking maybe they stopped stocking it and where the heck am I going to find it if they don't have it here. I like going to this store. The fruit is always sooo good here, beautiful flowers too. The next thing I know one of the store employees is asking me if I was looking for distilled water. I said "yes". He said he just sent someone to the back to get more to put out on the shelf. I told him my husband needs it for his sleep apnea machine. He said he has never had it move so quickly off the shelf and asked if the machine uses more in winter? The answer is no but maybe people are adding it to room humidifiers. I tell him I will swing back over to the aisle after I get my eggs. Next thing I know he is in egg aisle with 2 containers for me! The other thing I like about this store is the "grab & go" for picking up prepacked deli meat and cheese. They also have a kiosk where you can enter your deli order as soon as you enter the store. read more

Now and then I stop in but rarely purchase anything. My gripe with this store is the rat and ant poison aisle is at the bakery section on one end and milk on the other end. And the rest of dairy in the next aisle. When questioned on the prudence of stocking cleaners and rodent poison next to dairy, the manager told me not to worry. Any spills would be cleaned up before any dairy products could absorb fumes. Gross. What a shame as I really miss the fish counter read more

They usually have what I need. I don't do a ton of food shopping, but this is the closest supermarket to where I live. There is always close parking which is important if you have a small child with you or you are elderly or have a physical disability. It is pretty well staffed, I don't usually find myself waiting in line for long periods of time. read more

Combining the worst aspects of both supermarkets. The old Pathmark space always felt too big, and the old Stop and Shop was always too small. Though they did transition quickly to the new location, Stop and Shop is still figuring out how to use all that space. If you enter from the "rear" lot (which is on a hill), there are no "good", close parking spaces; you must get a cart outside and push it to the far end of the storefront to enter (the checkout aisles are either in use of blocked off so you can't get through). I don't park on the Rte. 23 side because the movie theater takes up most of the parking. They've had to conform to the Pathmark layout, meaning that produce, dairy, meats, and bakery have all moved around, which will confuse Stop and Shoppers familiar with the old place. Larger produce section is an improvement over the old store but the selection has not improved and the layout is confusing: if you don't mean to pay extra for "organics" make sure you're in the "regular" produce area. It's good that Stop and Shop finally offers self-checkout, but the terminals can be hard to use, and make sure you are quick to bag your purchases: when the next shopper starts scanning their items, the conveyor sends them down where yours are. Staff consists of a couple familiar Stop and Shop associates along with some likely ex-Pathmark workers; level of customer service runs to both ends of the spectrum. Now that the move is complete, hopefully Stop and Shop can make some adjustments to create a better experience and make better use of the square footage. read more

After moving to the Kinnelon Mall, this location has nearly doubled in space. And they still have the same great deli, bakery, and produce you have come to expect from Stop & Shop. read more

Often very poorly stocked, even for essentials. Items can be missing for weeks at a time. They actually have staff go thru the store to line items up to the front of the shelves to make it look stocked when it's not. There is a person working at the deli who is just a miserable human being. You will often be pointedly ignored when standing there. No one can be bothered to acknowledge you or say "I'll be right with you" Items are sometimes put in special displays with no relation to their normal home in the store & missing from their shelves making them impossible to find. The back parking lot is horrendous, filled with cracks and lumps, making it a battle to push the cart. read more

Kinnelon really needs a better grocery store. And, yes, I am using the present tense. When we heard they* were moving the Stop and Shop to the old Pathmark location we were relieved to hear this. "Thank goodness we don't have to drive 15-20 minutes to grocery shop any longer." Why? Because the old Pathmark was disorganized, had bad customer service, it was laid out terribly, confusing, "old" looking, and seemed...dirty. I was apprehensive to walk into the new store and waited a week for them to work out whatever kinks they had. Wow...what a DISAPPOINTMENT! I'm loyal to Stop/Shop - they're pricier but they have a great selection of organics, gluten free, pharmacy products, and regular grocery items. With that said there is absolutely no difference between this Stop/Shop and the old Pathmark. They did not upgrade an ounce. Nothing!!! Shelving is the same, layout is the same and it looks like they just tried to save money and plopped in a store to gain the market up here. The soda aisle is sparse - I can't even get a sleeve of Diet Dr Pepper! Where's the quality? Where's the organized, clean shopping? Where's the customer service from UPPER management? It's truly not the daily workers who are there because they *try* to help but it's very clear that management has not trained them on the products. Just because we live a little North of all the hustle and bustle doesn't mean we don't expect service, cleanliness and quality in Kinnelon. Trust me, we know what we're paying for up here. Sure I'll stop in for a last minute item for dinner on the way home from work but they're not getting my big weekly shopping spree. And so, here I go trudging 15-20 minutes down Kinnelon Road to Kings or to Trader Joe's in Wayne. Why? I'm willing spend a little more time and/or money for a good experience. Worst deli sandwich ever. It was dry, salty, over priced, and smashed together with no care at all. The cold cuts used looked old/close to expiration. One bite and in the garbage it went. read more

If you think the store is bad, please don't try their home delivery service. Believe it or not it's worse. More than once, items are missing, items are damaged and honestly it seems like they stick the stuff no one else would buy in the store into the home deliveries hoping you won't complain. Produce that is moldy or rotten, dairy that is about to expire etc... yesterday's order was missing all the frozen items we ordered, eggs were broken and deli meat that was sliced into small pieces the size of a half dollar (obviously someone sliced the very end that was mostly rind and no customer would accept in person). Reaching customer service is an exercise in futility. There is no email address for order complaints. Sat on hold this morning for 30 minutes was disconnected, called back waited another 20 minutes and actually was disconnected again as the service rep was assisting me. She did however call back and address my concerns. But regardless, getting orders consistently wrong and requiring me to invest 40-60 minutes reaching customer service is way more inconvenient than just going to the store. I will never order from Stop and Shop home delivery again. read more

The selection in this store is excellent. I love that they have a lot of organic foods. I pick up the circular each week because they have great sales. I also check out the on-line coupons for more savings. The people at Customer Service are always friendly, and will even show you where something is if you can't find it. read more

Not a bad shopping experience. Certainly better than the Pathmark that had been there. It's an odd space but I'm not looking for something else other than a place to shop. Maybe my standards are lower than others but at least it appears to be clean. read more

Like others, I'm highly disappointed in the 'new' Stop & Shop. Along with the other comments, my observation is the questionable location of the soap, detergent and poison control products, with the milk at one end of that aisle and the bakery at the other. Next aisle over is dairy and 'organic' not far away. I'd bet a man laid this store out. Only a man would ignore the illogical location of dropping a heavy detergent bottle on the top of the shopping cart, along with the ant poison and then a nice loaf of supposedly fresh bread! read more
