They'll tell you they're getting your meds together and then you'll find out that they don't even have it in stock, leaving you zero time to get it elsewhere. The little work they do is done by a computer that sends inaccurate texts. They'll tell you to come back in twenty minutes in lieu of literally walking ten steps and grabbing your eye meds or whatever may need. If you have a regular monthly medication, I suppose they are okay to use but should your doctor call in something important when time is of the essence, please dont rely on them to to put in the very least amount of effort. The other Walgreens aren't too good but this one is so bad, you might think you're on a hidden camera prank show. If anyone opened up a pharmacy nearby, they would be out of business immediately. I was on hold from 12 noon until 3:30pm trying to find out when my Rx would be ready for pickup. I can't help but wonder what takes so long. Finally, I spoke to a real live human who informed me that they had run out of my Rx - again! Either they don't track the stock on hand, don't track the outgoing Rx's, or they've got an employee who is stealing the drugs! I've got 3 fractured vertebrae, 11 damaged discs, and at least two places where my spinal cord is pinched. I can't stay out of bed for more than a few minutes without that medication. I don't want to know the pharmacy is "reviewing" my Rx but not filling it until I call, to find out where the hell it is, if I can even get through without being on hold forever, or disconnected! All I want is the Rx filled promptly and the receipt. I don't want to see that you're "reviewing" the Rx forever!. One other thing. I used their mail order 'service' to refill a different Rx. I did a little comparison and drove over to ShopRite where the parking lot was quite active and all of the departments inside were still open. Still, Weis seemed totally fine and had everything I needed. I bought some day-old pastries from the bakery aisle that rang up at the wrong price at the self checkout (a pet peeve of mine). So now, Walgreens is the only game in town. The pharmacy part has been closed all week. Apparently one of the pharmacists just quit and they were understaffed. We were told they'd be reopening on Friday, but when I called I was informed that the only remaining pharmacist had a family emergency, so they would not in fact be open. Fine. It happens. Not mad at the pharmacy staff, they're people too and things happen. However, I think it's a little ridiculous that a large corporate chain with the resources of Walgreens has no better solution in this circumstance than to drive 30 miles to the next closest location. I would think they would pull staff from a different location temporarily, or offer a courier service. Nope. Just sending folks to the next town over. Which, considering the current gas prices, is not ideal. I don't know about the regulations, but there just kind of seemed to be a lack of concern and not a lot done on the part of management to bridge the problem in the interim. The community this location services has a high amount of older folks with limited means. The person I was picking up the prescription for is wheel-chair bound and doesn't have her own transportation. If I hadn't been visiting from out of town and able to make the drive to Milford, she would have run out of her medicine, which could have caused severe side effects. Have to give a shout-out to the pharmacy tech I spoke to on Friday, she was super sweet and gracious and understanding. Have no qualms with the staff who man (or try to man) this location so far, but the higher operations seem to really have dropped the ball. Considering that there's no alternative and you can't simply drive five minutes and go to a different pharmacy, I absolutely hold them to a higher standard. How do you just not operate for most of a week when you have a whole community depending on you? How do you assume that every one of your customers will be able to make a half hour drive for meds, and not offer any accomodation or alternative for those who can't?
