Is Stockholm Syndrome a thing in retail? You're in the middle of nowhere and so bereft of credible supermarket options that you begin to believe that your only choice (Weis) is an outstanding one. The store is a total drag sporting suffocating dinge, lousy produce and an unhelpful staff that equates breathing with service... you really can't give an out of town customer a courtesy swipe of your discount card. Just weak. Weis is so disappointing, I was actually thinking fond thoughts about ShopRite. Such is the life of a hostage. Barely two stars. read more

New Weis in Dingmans Pharmacy - Actually lied to me about when one of my prescriptions was due for a refill. I had been waiting for a few days for a text saying that it was ready and when I finally went in about a week later I was told that they were unable to fill it until the day before. Lie! It was filled on a certain date the month prior so please don't treat me like I am stupid. Just apologize and move on. Another transaction in the pharmacy 3 days after phoning in for refills and waiting on line for 20 minutes. When I politely expressed my frustration later at the drive up ( following another 15 minute wait) the lady at the window then began complaining to me that she had not left said window in 2 hours. If this is a problem then perhaps Weis should hire more people or pull some from other departments when they need to get extra help. Produce Not sure why but they need to understand that once lettuce starts to turn brown, it should be discarded or sold at a discount that's obviously marked less than fresh. Meats Nothing special here. Very small meat department but again they are trying to be upscale but don't quite make it because they simply don't have the space. They really should have given this place more thought prior to building. They put in five extra stores that literally sat empty for three years. Now they are building get yet another bank to add to the two already with in a couple of miles of each other, not to mention the one office that closed. Another physical therapy place, there is one of those up the road a mile or so and the ever present gas station. And a "spa" ? Appears to be another hair/nail salon, again something that we already have on Route 739. Yippee. Can someone open a craft store or tackle shop? Anything that we don't already have in the immediate area? The choices are endless. read more

4 stars for great managers and mostly accomodating staff. Do agree with some Yelp & Google reviews usually no cashiers after 7 p.m. though ample staff visibly available. Recently saw two evening staffers one a Dept mananger making obvious fun of a customer. The customer was aware of it and let them.know. No apologies made by the staffers doubt they are at all deterred. Ironically, neither staffer has the beauty - don't even come close - of Marilyn Monroe . The staffers are employed to provide customer service not amuse themselves at the expense of the customers pride. How is it possible Corporate doesn't monitor business cameras enough to see such unprofessional and mean staff conduct ? . read more

I shop mainly at the Honesdale Weiss; love their pizza. They have a great loyalty program to earn points for gas.

Consistent supply of rotten produce at this site, you're better off driving to the one in Dingmans.

Love this Weis. Smaller than most but have all you need and your not enticed to spend more money on extra things that are not needed. The staff is always friendly. Always a greeting when you walk by. Also, it's been around a long time and the they have a good group of seasoned employees to help you. They are now starting a modernization which will only make it better. My only complaint is the deli doesn't slice fresh lunch meat. It's sliced then packaged and played out. read more

This location of Weis is one of the best I've been to. Everything is usually well-stocked and the store is tidy/clean. The best part of my trip there, however, was definitely the cashier that rang me out, Rianna. They were so pleasant and efficiently scanned through my items so I was in and out as quickly as possible! You can definitely tell Rianna enjoys their job which makes me want to support this location even more. Will definitely return. read more

Why does this store 123 village center rd allow a local Hunting and Fishing Club to buy all of the Sunday NYTimes for their Members and not order enough Of this paper for all the residents of the Community who shop here regularly. Absolutely the worst Market in the area. I would give them zero stars if I could. The deli doesn't open until 10:00 A.M. Are the doors open for you to have customers? The fish counter is not open until 10:00 A.M. 90% of the registers are self serve, do I get a discount for doing your job for you? They give you points to redeem, but the points expire very quickly and when you go to use them, they are gone. Giant's departments are all open, as well as Shoprite which are the stores I will be shopping at going forward. read more

Considering we are in the middle of no where, having a supermarket like this is a great addition. Being that this location is right outside of Hemlock Farms which has a large Jewish population, they seem to cater to them as well. If you go to the back corner of the store they have a fairly decent kosher section. This always makes me happy to see, not just because I am Jewish, but because it shows them understanding their shoppers and trying to make them happy. Years ago they used to carry this cheese cake pudding that my family love, so when we would go in there it was always our top dessert choice. After a while they stopped always carrying it, but if we requested it they ensured they had it the following weekend for us, which was awesome! The other desserts that they carry are pretty good too, can't think of any we are disappointed in. They used to be open 24 hours, then about 5 years ago they changed it to only during the summers (since there are so many snow birds), but now I believe they close at midnight all year round. read more

Convenient location otherwise I would shop elsewhere. Prices are higher than other markets, maybe because they are the only game in town. Make sure you check the prices that are scanned at the register. More than once I was overcharged at the register. Yesterday it was only 10 but that was on an item that was only .59. Percentage wise that is substantial. I also bought a baked good that had a 50% off coupon attached to it. The self checkout register would not scan the coupon so the attendant came over to assist. She gave me 50% off of a bag of rolls that was marked $1.50 instead of the $7.00 apple pie that had the coupon. When I POLITELY pointed this out to her, she rudely told me to "relax". This little bitch obviously should not be working with customers. read more

I stop here on occasion, mainly after going to the movies at the cinema in the same shopping mall. The selection is reasonably good, and their fresh vegetables and fish are OK. The store is clean. However, their prices are definitely not comparable to what one gets at the Shoprites in Liberty or Monticello. So I don't go out of my way to shop here. read more

Most of the cashiers are pleasant, though it's quite funny to hear them talk about other employees of the store when they are not there. As with other stores, prices seem to be reasonable on certain products/unreasonable on others. I also feel they can do without all the extra sale bins/display boxes in the shopping aisles that take up space as its hard to get around them and other shoppers. Though I know that's the sole fault of the various particular companies that pay for extra promotion within stores. Aside from that it is a very convenient grocery store for the area on sale items you may need here and there. I would not rely on this particular store though for the sole purpose of major weekly food shopping. read more

Overpriced produce that isn't fresh, actually the whole store is overpriced. The seafood was so bad you can smell it through the packaging, also the frozen seafood is freezer burned. Found moldy tufu in the produce section that was over 5 months past expiration. To be very honest lots of their products are past expiration. Employees are rude. Stay clear of this store. read more

Great supermarket with a variety of options. Weis is located right outside hemlock farms and is in an area with many other stores and 2 restaurants. The staff is lovely and helpful. They have a small, but well-equipped gluten-free section and their bakery is out of this world! I am not a cake-fan, but their cakes are to die for! This is a great supermarket with a great selection of just about everything. The store is clean and easy to navigate. The meat selections are impressive as is the vegetable and fruit selections. The prices are reasonable. The check outlines are never too bad and with self-checkout it is even faster. The staff is friendly and welcoming. All in all this is a godsend for locals. read more

Please, please have Dwight from your Lancaster area store show the other bakers how to correctly bake Irish Soda Bread. I was never so disappointed as I was yesterday after purchasing 3 loaves from the Ephrata store. Overbaked, hard and no wonderful taste as you find with Dwight's bread. Didn't want to drive that far to buy from him but it would certainly have been well worth it. The alternative is to sell the frozen dough to customers and let them bake their own. Please look into this as we wait all year for this treat only to be very disappointed. read more

INCREDIBLY SLOW. I've gone in to the deli during the day and waited for ten minutes before I left however there was THREE people there at the time not taking customers. Convenient if you are in the area anyway. Bad stuff: The aisles are so crowded with cardboard display boxes, etc.,, there is no way it's safe or legal for the store to open its doors to customers that way. Super exhausting to try to navigate through, except in the early a.m., or late p.m. Lots of rude teen agers running the cash registers, but that's a given. (They are regularly talking back and forth to each other about parties, etc.) At times, the music is hard rock, and loud. Other times, it's fine. Good stuff about the store: Really good, intelligent selection of items, considering it's a grocery store in the middle of an economically depressed PA county.
