I am really glad to be able to go to a well-run, competent, local pharmacy where they know what they're doing. Their selection of merchandise is not huge, but somehow they usually manage to have what I'm looking for - (kind of the opposite of those huge stores where they have a zillion thing but not what you actually want...) The hospital gave me 3 scripts to get filled, and I asked them if they would work since they're out of state, but I just had to make sure even though I don't think a hospital would steer anyone in the wrong direction. So I went to CVS in Carbondale first and they said that CVS in honesdale will take my New York insurance and will fill my scripts DEPENDING on the pharmacist?!?!! .. anyways, I called and they said no because it'll back up their system...... so they can but they don't want to is what he meant to say. So I called again today and they told me to come in with my scripts so I did and I almost paid out of pocket with a discount that this nice lady who was helping me use. But then as I walk away I hear someone say "Stephanie!" So I turn around and ROB said no it cannot be finalized because it's out of state. Fast forward I'm now sitting at rite aid and I explained to the pharmacist what was going on and the pharmacist said no that's not true. And they are helping me AND it's going through my insurance. Long story short ROB is so worried about his system being backed up and the inconvenience of my toothache / infection that could turn into sepsis, ROB doesn't care about you. ROB is just lazy & only cares about the work load, or lack there of, that he has to do. Thank you rite aid !

Ed Ullmann, the pharmacist, spoke to us as people -- he walked around the counter to be face to face, rather than stay behind the counter -- and was tremendously helpful. The Rx wasn't in the Phoenicia pharmacy, and I asked to pick it up in the Tannersville pharmacy; it was done seamlessly. Up in Tannersville I was helped by the pharmacist (Jennifer B, I believe), who was as helpful and kind as I needed. This is the way health care should work. Not a corporate profit point, but a place to get help from a human being who is caring and kind. I'm a believer, and I HIGHLY recommend Well ess Rx.

It's a lower-budget Whole Foods, but some departments (such as cheeses or bakery) are equivalent to or better than smaller Whole Foods stores. Full-service butcher and seafood department, huge bakery and prepared foods sections, it puts a lot of other stores to shame. There's always something new to discover here, which makes grocery shopping, dare I say, fun.
