I will say, however, that it's heaven for the ladies in my extended family above the age of 40. While my mom shopped today, I opted to sit in the car and zone out. There was a strange smell emanating from the place, though it might've just been the casual smell of department store. I also hear it is rather cheap. If still open in 20 years, I will definitely make my way back for some age-appropriate garb.

They make you work for it, and that really ruins the fun of saving a few dollars. We happened to be driving past today on the way back from Not-Around-Here, heading to Walmart for very basic shoes and a few last odds and ends. Hubby suggested we try Peebles for the shoes, since they'd have a better selection and higher quality, and it was right on the way. I wasn't enthusiastic, but saw the logic in at least checking. It was pretty quiet and empty, but maybe it's always that way on a Friday mid-afternoon. The store itself is clean and attractive, and they do have very nice merchandise. I found a great pair of very comfy, nice-looking shoes for a decent price within five minutes, and started looking for a checkout. There was ONE! It was at the perfume counter, with a lone checker, and a line of maybe ten people. In fact, nearly all of the customers that we saw anywhere in the store were standing in that line. We've already grown accustomed to the rarity of actual customer service in this area, so weren't even all that surprised. Since we still had other things to do, and I prefer shopping online, anyhow, I got the info from the shoebox, put it back on the shelf, and we left, but not before hubby had to go search out someone who he believes might have been a manager to let him know the situation. The man, whoever he was, was dismissive and went back to whatever he was doing without making any effort to help the one poor lady at the cash register, or calling someone who could. So, I got online tonight and ordered the same shoes that I know I'll love, having tried them on in the store (thanks for that, Peebles) and for $11 less than Peebles wanted, with free shipping. Peebles Corporation spent buckets of money, and not that long ago, to refurbish the store, but we're not sure why they bothered. It takes more than "pretty" to keep customers flocking back. Many stores around here seem to take the attitude that people have to shop there because they're the only one of the kind in the area, or that customers won't go home, get into their comfy jammies, and order the same stuff online, just minus the hassle, and often for less money. Pennsville Peebles is a good option if you need a nice dress at the last minute but that's about all.

It's a tad higher-priced than the "big W", but the clothes have more style, colors, and interesting fabrics, and there's a greater range of sizes for women. I'm a little picky about my clothes (for example, I want my shirts to have pockets) and it's quite a large store with a wide selection, so it's rare that I can't find something that fits me, my budget, and my expectations. The prices are quite reasonable for what they offer, so you can spend $100 and leave with a full bag, feeling like a great bargain-hunter. Service is friendly and helpful but not overbearing and annoying. Highly recommended.

While I did not find any that I liked at this mall I did find other items I liked and bought. The mall itself is clean and has plenty of parking outside. The food court is pretty large with a variety of places to choose from. You will find something to eat here, there are a lot of places. There's also a Target which is super convenient! I love malls with Targets, it saves you an extra trip. The prices here felt a little lower than the Bay Area, CA. I went to JC Penny and found some nice things and the cashier lady even helped me get a coupon online to save a little extra cash. All the people I interacted with here were friendly. All the stores were out together and well stocked. The only thing I was not thrilled about was the Nordstrom. I love Nordstrom, I can even say I have a Nordstrom shopping problem. This Nordstrom is very underwhelming. There is not a whole lot of selection for women and I was bummed. I was looking to see if they had some items I saw online and they did not. The store itself was clean and the employees were very nice. I'll be writting a separate review for JC Penny and Nordstrom. This mall is a good place to shop with good stores inside. Tensions are evident already, and fnally one snaps to another "you have a customer". Upon asking if she can put the new band on my existing watch, she immediately declines. They aren't equipped with any tool for that. I am disappointed, and tell her 'no sale", since I don't have a tool like that at home either. She turns abruptly to go back to her paperwork, and replies "no problem" with a dismissive tone. There wasn't even the pretense of courtesy here, and I clearly got the message that customers are an interruption of their work, rather than the reason the store exists in the first place.
