I am a handicapped person with a service dog and it seems that just about every time I come into the store there is a problem with another dog in the store that is not a service dog and no one does anything about it. I have filed several complaints about the situations that have happened. I am afraid to take my dog into the store, and I know I could just shop some place else, will that would be fine if I could afford to shop some place else, I would love to shop at Target or any other store because they care about their cust. and making it save for them to shop. All walmart cares about is their all mighty $$$. Their store policy does not even address service dog issues, and its not just this store but all other the stores in Southern CA. Walmart does not believe that they have to up hold the law, just their store policy, does come in there with no leashes, no collars or tags, that is against the law in general. Then they come in with their dogs in strollers, what type of service can a dog perform riding around in a stroller. A service dog is just that a dog that performs a service. Dogs that are not service dogs are cause a lot of problems in the stores and need to not be allowed inside. read more

Let me tell you about my experience on Saturday night at Walmart I went online and I saw a TV that I was interested in - 32 inch- sales person went to the back and brought the TV out -the box was bent in the corner raggedy box had tape all over it I asked him is that TV ok ?? is it broken?? the box is bent --I took it home- my mistake***** I knew I should have checked- my boyfriend opened it to put it together for me and the screen was cracked not one time but in four places. I bought it back I purchased it 20 minutes ago took it back to the store they tell me it's store policy they can not -- exchange it the return just closed there's nothing they can do you have to wait until tomorrow -- the manager in charge for the night shift states if I change the policy for you I have to change the policy for everybody you know I didn't want to hear that right I can spend 200 dollars but i cant be an exception who drove there twice for broken merchandise-- he tells me there is nothing I can do - walmart has something to learn about customer service and People he could have exchanged it for me I didn't make a fuss - customer service ????? Over heard staff calling customers scumbags. Not good cart dude not good. He was inside the door tslking with a door greeter about this. Called the main line at this store and it rang approximately 20 times before anyone picked up. She then transferred me to the garden shop and it rang at least 30 times and no one ever did pick up. Terrible service. Must be understaffed! read more

I've gone to this Walmart plenty of times and for the most part I don't have an issue. The women's socks and underwear area could be better organized at times but the issue I have is last night I went in to go purchase a scale, couldn't find it so I found a worker (Hispanic man) and asked him "excuse me where are the scales?". Him:" on the back wall (pointing to the back wall)" me: in the corner? Him: on the back wall! Me: IN THE CORNER OR???? Him: on the back wall in the corner!. Ok so 1 he had a little attitude with me repeating myself but if he would have just said the corner in the first place then I wouldn't have had to bother him while he was so busy (not busy at all) 2 the back wall goes from one side to the other so it could have been the middle of the back wall or even the opposite corner. I get he may have been tired from a long day but I asked a simple question. Maybe I'm being picky with this complaint but it was rude. He even looked like maybe a floor manager? I don't know so maybe that's why I got more annoyed. Anyways just a little constructive criticism. read more

There is hardly ever anyone at the fabric cutting counter. One stay I stood and rang the bell for 15 minutes and no one ever came. I left without buying fabric. This has happened before. One time I was able to walk around the store and find someone to help after waiting a long while. I hate shopping for fabric here. read more

I unfortunetly made the mistake of cashing a check at this particular walmart, where the cashiers at their customer service desk have no experience what so ever handleing money!.... they cashed my check was 100 dolls. short , and they refuse to pay me back, on top of that, they didn't even treat me with respect, and pretended like nothing ever happend! read more

it's no secret walmart is not known for its customer service and when i first started shopping here, (when it was new) it was like a breath of fresh air. I thought, 'great, a touch of class, which is rarely seen in walmart stores.' but just like all good things, this place has lost its shine. it almost seems employees take pride in being rude and obnoxious but then again maybe it's just a front they put on so as not to be bothered by customers. i only hope this is not a representation of the caliber of people in san diego or the direction this city is headed. Bleh.. I usually don't like to say bad things about places but geesh this was a bad experience. I went in a few days ago because I had ordered online from the Walmart website a photo card with a picture on the front and had it sent to this Walmart so I could pick it up as it was for someone in jail who really needed a picture of his friends and family to get him through the day in that rough place and that is the only way that inmates are allowed pictures now. So anyway I did all of this and waited a week for them to send me an email and call me to tell me my photo post card was ready to pick up at this specific Walmart in Grossmont, I made sure to check before I went there as I am on a strict budget and didn't have much gas to waste so I made sure they said it was ready. I didn't think to bring the order number because on the email invoice it said just to tell them my name and that it was an online order. Well I told them both of those things and the guy gave me a blank stare and stated that there were no records found! What I thought to myself and I even gave him the email and phone number I used to place the order and still nothing. I started to get slightly frustrated because this item was important to me but I understood and waited patiently as they kept looking and then a manager lady rudely walked up and said to him what you can't find it and she looked at me and said where is your order number in a rude tone, well I don't have it I answered but I received the confirmation number and it said I didn't need to bring that just my name and number. Then she rudely told me I must have mistaken it for the La mesa market Walmart down the street, what?!! I thought the one that sells food and has no photo place! ummm no I stated it specifically stated this address 5500 grossmont walmart I told her, and she still insisted that I must be wrong. As I am starting to get more upset because getting this postcard was so important to me and my best friend in jail and the employees where being so rude to me like it was my fault they couldn't find it I almost started breaking down in tears, but then this sweet customer behind me started talking and joking with me as I told her the problem and she told me sorry and she hopes they find it, I mean a customer was telling me sorry and not one sorry from any of these employees. Right then the manager lady says HERE! and shoves the envelope with my picture postcard in my face, no sorry no nothing, and I just smile at her and say thank you very much , although in my mind I want to scream at her. As I walk away I want to hug the customer behind me for her warmth and understanding instead I smile at her and say thank you and mean it. I never want to go through this experience again so I just have things shipped to my house now, the only good thing was the lady in line behind me who was so sweet, not one employee offered an apology for telling me I was wrong when I wasn't or for them being so rude etc. when they just couldn't find it and did. I usually find almost everything I am looking for in this store. They have 2 huge bins of dvd's for 5.00 and the appliance selection is good. My major complaint is that they never have enough check stands open. read more

One star because zero stars isn't the right option. Walmart sells cheap crap that breaks. Customer service is non existent. I wanted assistance buying a computer and had already accumulated over 200 dollars worth of other items. The clerks at customer service counter were unfriendly and one was surly. When I asked to speak to a manager the woman said "I'm a manager." I think that was a lie. They don't want you to speak to managers there. I called and asked for a manager and was put on hold forever. Called three times and never reached anyone. Hold hold hold. I left all the items in my cart and walked out. Everything Walmart sells is available elsewhere. Stuff here is cheap but not worth it to me anymore. When I tried to talk to the "manager" another clerk heard me call it the worst store ever. She piped in to her coworkers, "Worst store ever?" She wasn't part of the conversation so I turned to her and asked her if I had been speaking to her. She buried her face in the ground. I left and will never return to this store. I finally had enough of this lousy store. Target is nearby and other places like Ebay can be even cheaper, quicker, and without all the lowlife high school dropouts with bad attitudes and ugly pusses to boot. Screw Walmart. read more

returning what you ordered is susch a pain. i have to call and wait for the third party instructions on how to return the product and they choose what carrier it should be sent through. walmart is advertising a low price but overall if i return the product i bought online, it will cost me more than it should because of their shipping instruction. i was surprised that this presto seal that i bought from walmart online cannot be returned to their store. such a hassle! amazon is far better than walmart. will never buy anything online anymore. my first and last! read more

I wish I could give no stars. I was disappointed by my recent shopping experience at the La Mesa Wal-Mart in Grossmont Center. I went there to get photo prints. After navigating the computer screen and picking out some prints, I was pleased to see that the photos would be done in 6 minutes. When I returned to the photo department, the employee said that my order was not ready because the computer had frozen. This mechanical error did not seem like a big deal to me. These things happen. The employee then explained to me that he would start to process my order and that I would need to wait for another six or seven minutes. Again, not a big deal. These sorts of malfunctions are to be expected from time to time. But then the employee decided for some reason that he needed to "explain" to me why the computer had "frozen up." His explanation was dripping with accusation and insult. His explanation of why the computer froze was because I had ripped the receipt out too roughly. I responded by telling the employee that I had not done that at all. I told him that I waited for the receipt to print fully and then took my receipt. I offered another theory by asking the employee if he thought it was possible that the printer on the machine had simply malfunctioned, as machines will do sometimes and that blaming the customer wasn't such a nice thing to do. He did not think much of my theory and again told me that it was because I was too impatient to wait for the printer to print. This was not true and it was insulting. I really would have liked to have gotten my photos, but instead I told the employee that his customer service skills were terrible -- and then I left. I headed over to the nearby Target to get my photos. The employee lost a customer by being rude. read more
