I have never had any issues at this Wal-Mart. They have great prices & a large selection. I had a pleasant experience today as I went for some makeup. When I was checking out my makeup, the woman ringing my item up (I think her name tag said Terry) was incredibly friendly. I watched her carry on a conversation with the woman in front of me, and then once I got to the front, she made conversation with me as well & that topped off my wal-mart trip very nicely. Laura or Lauren F. Is the first Wal-Mart employee to ever voluntarily help me to my car. I've been shopping at Wal-Mart for 15 years. She did so without any instruction or me asking. She was so incredibly nice. I was trying to get storage containers to my car and I had mentioned that they kept falling. She just picked one up and said "Lets go." I was shocked and so genuinely happy. That was the nicest thing to do. So many people talk so negatively about Wal-Mart employees. They implemented a mandatory checkout at the cosmetics and it is seriously a pain. I refuse to go into that section anymore. I have tried twice and the line takes FOREVER and then I have to get into the regular line for my other items when I'm finished shopping. No! I came to this Walmart a week ago because I was trying to sell a PlayStation. The guy was not there yet so I decided to walk around. I spent around 20 minutes walking around this Walmart and looking at there tech and fishing equipment. This place has about every single video game I enjoy playing in stock. They have lots of tvs in stock. They have such a wide variety of stuff that other Walmart's do not. The only reason I am giving this place a 4 instead of a 5 was because there were lots of fishy people outside this Walmart that starred at you while you walked out. Open 24 Hours! Yes, finally. If I need it, I can usually find it at Wal-Mart. I am here at least 5 times or more per week; at all hours of the day and night. This is my first stop when I shop. I'm not usually one to write a review about restrooms. But this was something I couldn't let go. Came into Walmart to buy a couple things but decided to use the restroom first. As you walk into the male bathroom you get slapped in the face with this smell of old pee like the kind you smell downtown with a hint of vinegar. Looking around there is dirt on the floor and some kind of colored powder like a nerds factory had exploded in there. Not to mention the unusual amount of toilet paper all over the floor and curiously business cards. The porcelain is stained with the pee from Christopher Columbus which looks like it has become the permanent orange look of the white porcelain. You get the uneasy feeling that you will catch all the diseases as you try to handle your business. The worst part of all of this is, it's right next to the McDonald's which means this is where the employees go to... then handle your food. This is disgusting. read more

What's not to love about Walmart? Low prices: I got a 19 piece set of pots and pans for $14.99. Seriously?!? That's less than a dollar a piece! And I've used them too. Eggs don't stick for nothing on those pans. They said non stick they meant it. Nuff said. The thing that I've always loved about Walmart is the true representation of the neighborhood given. It all starts with the greeter. As you may know, all walmarts have a greeter. Someone who is paid to stand (or sit based on ability) and say hello to you and welcome you into a new world of low prices by way of the Great Value brand. (By the way, the Great Value brand name is straight to the point and accurate. I hope Great Value has a Yelp. I've got things to say.) I walked into this Walmart, no greeting. Strike one. The greeter was sitting on his/ her chair, (I have a hard time telling genders past 75 sometimes.) looking into their hands probably thinking of all the great stuff they have done with their life and this is how they ended up. But old people are cute so I let it slide. Second way Walmart shows the social climate of your neighborhood is if the condoms and baby formula are locked up. This is sad and dark if you think about it so let's move on. Finally the people show the area. I don't know anyone who LOVES Walmart. People hate going but most everyone does. I've only known one person who refused to go into Walmart until I told him they had $10 bottles of tequila. He was obviously in. This Walmart is standard Walmart. A gift certificate brings me back. store opens at 6,, and i started looking at men's pants around 8:20. only none fitting area to accommodate all clothing areas. when i came out, two clerks were checking in another customer. came back a little before 9 and clerk told me the room weren't open til 9. i said the stores open, the rooms should be open. she said you'll,just have to wait! come on folks, if the stores open you should be able to avail yourself of all departments. the very nice lady at checkout couldn't belive the rooms weren't open til 9. very poor policy. read more

This Walmart is horrible especially their Assistant Manager Fredy who should not be a manager. I specifically drove 30 mins to this Walmart because an item I needed had only 3 in stock left at this location. It could not be found at any other Walmart besides this one and because there was only a few left, it was on sale. When I came to the store, the exact item(same style, size, brand, etc.) showed the regular price so I asked for additional help to find the item I drove here specifically for. Fredy looked up the exact item I found online and saw the sale price which stated this location was the only one to have it. As he searched his inventory, he told me it showed they didn't have any when clearly we were staring right at the product. I told him what an inconvenience this was for me to drive out of my way to come specifically here for this item for him to tell me the inventory is messed up. As a consumer, that is not my fault that their inventory is messed up but as a manager, there is something that can be done since the item is clearly here and we both agree that the price is what it shows. He refused to do anything and said I can call Walmart for the discrepancy. He took no ownership of his store and no ownership in fixing their error. Wasted my time to provide no help read more

Today I go to Walmart to get some oil for my car and to price dress shirts. Well I found the dress shirts are same quality as macys but literally 5 times less. Oil easy, finding it super easy thanks to this little old lady who works at Walmart and her customer service is top notch, in and out quick and strangly a whole lot of attractive women every where, I was at macys like 20 mins before that but there not one hottie. This review is for Evan (security supervisor) and Ray (assistant store manager). These two guys went above and beyond their duty to make sure I was taken care of. I was there for a new baby stroller, and had a question about a price on a particular one, so i grabbed the first employee i saw, it happened to be Evan (security supervisor). instead of telling me he can't help me with pricing, he went ahead and helped me with all of my questions and even got Ray (assistant store manager) to help,and he even gave me a 20% discount on a stroller because they no longer have the one I was shopping for. This is a review of the entire Walmart organization. What they call customer service are pat emails, the same to any customer regardless of the concern. They are of no help or concern whatsoever. I had more than 7 emails from 7 different people, all with the same or similar pat responses. I do not believe that there were 7 people, more like 1 who used different names so as not to be help accountable for their total lack of help in ameliorating a problem. I have been in and out of the hospital steadily since last Oct. My girlfriend bought me a 4K movie which was bad and did not play. All I wanted was an exchange for a good one. Do you think they would help...not a chance. I am almost 70 and do not have the strength to go back and forth. Walmarts in Grossmont Center refuses to answer their phones in any department. Horrible place ,, Eric ( Assistant manager ) is the rudest unprofessional person I've ever encountered,, I was with my wife and 3 kids on valentine day and it was so windy and cold , I tried to enter the store from the side door ( inside the Grossmont mall) but the door won't open ,, it was only 9pm where they close at 10 . Then he saw us from the inside the store and walked toward with eye to eye contact and placed a cart in front of the door and left ,, he saw us trying to enter but he choose to not not even have the courtesy to let us know even by hand motion that the door in the other side is open ,,, what abnormal human behavior, ,, then walked to the other side and the door was open , and I saw him ,, I confronted him and he immediately became defensive and said we almost closing etc ( it's a whole hour before closing time ) ,,, I complained to the store manager and he came up with non sense excuse that somebody try to steal and was using the other door etc ,, it was very obvious that he was covering up for him , this is one of the worst and poorest customer service service I ever encountered, it takes bad customer service and abnormal human behavior into a whole different low level read more

Terrible way to greet a customer, saying backpacks are not allowed into the store and must be left in a locker at the entrance. My backpack happens to be my purse. Just because it has two straps on it and I wear it on my back, does not make it different than any other purse. If anything, it is less accessible for serving whatever purpose management is worried about. It is zippered and behind me. Is this someone's stupid idea of security, hassling shoppers? Do your security cameras not work? Do you not have enough loss prevention staff? Very foolish solution to your problem. I walked out with my backpack and my money. Last time I was in Walmart I had to use the bathroom, which is a mistake i will never make again.. anyway i walk in do my pissness and then i hear what sounds like gasping for air from the stalls. I thought someone was in trouble so i went to investigate and in the OPEN handicap stall i found two fairly large hairy men blowing each other... its not the fact that the man had to look directly in my eyes but the fact that they left the stall door open and that no one did anything or knew that this was going on.. boys will be boys but please do it at home.. my god man walmart needs to step up their bathroom security... #scarredforlife read more

I've been to this location countless numbers of times. The cashiers are always friendly and check out fast. There's a mix of both young and older people working here. When I come, it's always younger people checking me out. All of the self-check out registers are always up and never down. They have a pretty good clothing selection for young adults. They always have the make up that we're looking for when we go although they could have a larger ethnic section. Large food selection. Food is always cheap and fresh. It's rather hard to find your bra size in this place and I don't know why. I guess my bra size is very common. Bra and underwear section could be Biggers. Parking is always open and you shouldn't have a problem finding a spot. There's always a spot. We've never had a bad experience coming here and we rarely have to wait in line. I've gotten pretty expensive items from here in the electronics section and never had any issues. I'm a huge gamer and their video games are maybe a few cents to a dollar cheaper but still, it's cheaper and this is where I get all of my video games (besides Target and GameStop (obv not cheaper unless marked down which is rare even to begin with)). Regardless of what your looking for, if you don't find it here, I'm sure you'll find it at one of the other stores within Grossmont Mall! read more

Well let me say that this is a nice Walmart. It isn't the typical walmart, it is actually in a nice area and is respectively clean inside. Like the other yelpers are saying it does have elevators. The one problem I have with it though is it does get packed, and they do have a lack of employees servicing the customers. Which means that it does take awhile to get serviced. Other then that though recommend this place if you're looking for maybe the nicest Walmart in San Diego. Also I forgot to mention did you know there is a McDonalds inside? I will never go to Wal-Mart, especially this location, ever again! I waited a long time with my boyfriend to purchase the new Madden game a few nights ago. The whole thing felt unorganized and some of the employees seemed clueless as to what was going on, not knowing where the rest of the games were, and felt it was okay to talk back. We waited for hours only to be put in the back of the line behind people who just got there. Then when midnight rolls around the employees are just standing there chit chatting. People were going up to them saying it was already midnight and they wouldn't even say anything or give us the reason for the wait. Finally I say " some of us have to be at work early" so then finally one of the employees, David B., decides to finally respond and say " well it's your choice to be here!" What happened to the customer is always right??? Don't work for a place that is open 24/7 and that deals with customers if you can't handle it! I wasn't even talking to the jerk. So then when I get to the counter I ask him what were in the gift bags they were handing out and he didn't even look at me or respond to my question! I waited there for hours only to have to wait even longer and deal with attitude. who treats their customers, who are the source of their income, like that??? seemed like he was on some power trip and just thought we were a bunch of kids. We are still paying customers! I never liked Wal-Mart and the only reason why I went there was because my boyfriend really wanted the game and that was the only place I know of that is open 24/7. Visited this Walmart last night - was told they carried what I was looking for - for the kids. When I arrived, I immediately located the area but could not locate what I needed. I eventually found some help and the young lady took me to the location and noticed that they were out of the product that was on the kids list. I asked about another product, and they would out of that as well. I am giving this Walmart 4-Stars because of the employee's assistance and not leaving me stranded. She stayed with me and helped me find something equivalent that she said the girls would like - the new "in thing". Thank you for employing good customer service oriented people. read more
