This Walmart has a first and second floor. First floor containing most of the food and clothing. Second floor containing all the house appliances and electronic goods. The store is easy to navigate as they have posters above the escalator stating where everything is located. The workers are very friendly and helpful when searching for specific items.

This is my First time doing my grocery shopping at this Walmart Supercenter Store located in La Mesa, CA. This Walmart Store is very clean and organized in their floor displays. I was serviced by Audrina today she was very friendly and she bagged up my groceries with my canvas shopping bag. I spent about only $38.50 on 14 food products I bought at this Walmart Store . I looked at all the prices are much cheaper than the Walmart Store I do my grocery shopping at the College Grove Avenue location in Lemon Grove. The wait time was very short another 10 minutes. I had a great experience today.

Pretty clean and convenient. Covered parking 280 yards away. On a hill. Their food and groceries section is pooooor . East access. No natural light inside. Competitive pricing and decent quality.

Very interesting Walmart situated within the Grossmont Center in La Mesa. The parking lot was rather full on a weekday. The store itself is multiple stories and feels a tad claustrophobic compared to their other massive locations. The employees were not the most helpful. The biggest letdown was the lack of fresh produce. We spent time walking around the grocery section in search of fresh greens to no avail. Upon inquiring, we were directed to a small stand containing a small selection of packaged produce--but none of the products we needed...

This Walmart has a big parking lot but the layout inside of the store is just really weird and confusing... We had a hard time looking for the stuff we needed... The self checkout machines were so hard to use... they kept freezing There were many sizes missing and everything was just so unorganized in the women underwear session. The worst part is they locked pregnancy sticks, condoms and any sexual related items in a glass shelf, if you need anything you will have to ring a bell which is by the shelf, we rang the bell and no one came to help us for a while, the only thing we could do was ask employees that walked by and see if they could help us open the shelf, they kept telling us they couldn't ... finally one of the employees came and she was just standing there watching us... We felt pressure and had to make a decision quick... It just made us feel so uncomfortable and embarrassed...

Accessibility: there are accessible/disabled parking spots across from the entrance, motion-activated doors to enter, and regular shopping carts inside, as soon as you enter. I did not see any motorized shopping carts...if they have any, they must have all been in use. The isles are nice and wide, and it is well lit inside. Only self check out counters were open. There are also two levels to this Walmart but you have to go inside and go half way down the first level to get to the elevator for the second level. Experience: their selection is much better than smaller Walmarts I have been to, but besides this I didn't like it being two levels, the elevator not being next to the entrance, and seeing no motorized carts.

People going crazy with the panic buying... hope the seniors are taken care of.

Why are half the self checkout closed? It's self checkout, I do all the work. Either hire more employees or let us check ourselves out

The store is a disaster. Messy. Unkempt and No staff at all to be seen. On check -out 100% for real- it was 27 minutes on line. They had not less than 15 people in line all the times and only one tragically overworked cashier. He did what he could be he was in overwhelm. It would help a great deal if the manager came out and simply told the people in line they were two people short today and they were doing the best they could. They didn't care about out us at all. Three people in line left and simply dropped their would be purchases on the floor. I chose not to do that as the pair of shoes I had was the exact thing a friend wanted and they were perfect. So I waited like a cow with the rest of the in-cared for cattle. This place has gotten worse and worse over time and I just am not sure it is worth my time to be treated rudely on the way in and then to not be cared about on the way out. Just terrible.

One woman has had the same customers at her register all of 20 minutes and keeps pausing to help another incompetent employee at her register. Finally, after 30 minutes, two other women showed up to help customers check out. I have no words? Come here if you have all day to waste. Also they put price tags over other barcodes so you can't scan products to see if they have toxic ingredients. That eliminates the option of buying any beauty products here, ugh.

I'm very disappointed with my experience at this store. We shop here quite often since I live…read morenearby, but the way the manager (or the person in charge) treated my children was unacceptable. She has glasses and streaks in her hair - I forgot her name, but if I remember it I will gladly share it. My boys are children - sometimes they are a little noisy, but nothing unusual. On one occasion, they were simply standing in line and talking a bit, and she immediately told them to be quiet. I honestly didn't understand - is this a hospital or a clothing store? On another visit, she literally followed us around the store. No matter what my children did, she kept finding reasons to comment and correct them, to the point that they started feeling uncomfortable and even afraid of her. No customer or child should feel that way while shopping. It doesn't matter how good the merchandise or prices are - this is not how you treat customers. The store is large and often messy, yet instead of managing staff or organizing the store, she seemed focused only on my children. When I asked for her name, she loudly said my name back to me and told me I was welcome to file a complaint, as if this is something she's used to hearing. Very disappointing behavior and extremely unprofessional!!!!!!!. I expected much better.

We're closing in 10, we're closing in 5, and sometimes it's a whole 15 minutes, maybe 20, and they're literally announcing half of the time. How are you gonna tell me that? The customer service here is poor as well. The store is very disorganized. All of the people that work here seem like they hate their job.But truth be told no one's forcing any of them to work here! May 9, 2026 I had a…read morevery disappointing experience today at the World Market location, and as someone responsible for facilities purchasing for a major local company, I believe this is important feedback for both corporate leadership and store ownership. I stopped in this morning to purchase an additional Mother's Day gift for my mother. I selected a candle priced at approximately $16.50 and proceeded to checkout with a $100 bill. The cashier informed me she could not complete the sale because she did not have enough change in her register. I politely suggested that perhaps another register could assist with the transaction, since the change required would have been roughly $81.71. The cashier appeared unwilling to ask for assistance, so I requested a manager. The manager then informed me that unless I spent at least $50 in the store, they would not break the bill or complete the transaction. I was honestly shocked by this response. It was approximately 11:30 a.m., the store had been open since 9:00 a.m., and the location was busy with customers. It is difficult to believe the store lacked the ability to complete a standard retail transaction involving a $100 bill. What should have been a simple purchase turned into an unnecessarily frustrating and dismissive experience. I left the store feeling rejected as a customer and extremely disappointed by the level of service and lack of problem-solving demonstrated by both the cashier and management. Most importantly, this interaction cost the store far more than a $16 candle sale. I was actively considering World Market Grossmont Center for future large-scale purchasing related to my professional role in facilities management. After today's experience, I will not be spending my personal or professional dollars with this company moving forward. Today, World Market lost what could have been a long-term, high-value customer over a simple and avoidable customer service issue.

The customer service at this store was extremely disappointing. I was waiting in the self-checkout…read moreline when a register opened up just to the left of the main group of self-checkout stations. When it was my turn, I walked over to use it. Almost immediately, a female employee came over and accused me of cutting the line, saying there were others ahead of me. I explained that I believed the group in front of me was all together, but that if I was mistaken, they could go first. She then had me walk back over so she could ask the group--who confirmed they were all together. Despite that, the employee then told another worker that they could go next instead of me. I clarified that I had been waiting in line and was directly behind the group and had not cut in line. The other employee told me that it was ok and I could use the register. The entire situation was embarrassing and unnecessary. I had done nothing wrong as I was waiting in line and was the next person, yet was publicly called out and treated rudely in front of other customers. It left a very negative impression, and I hope management takes steps to better train staff on professionalism and communication.
