The associates are friendly and helpful and the store hours are fairly generous staying opened quite late. This is one of the few non-Super-Center Walmarts around. I heard rumors that the city this store resides in will not allow Walmart to build a Super Center. I don't understand why that is though, seeing as there are over 200 stores and restaurants immediately surrounding this store. I'm guessing the city is concerned for the welfare of the other grocery stores in the area, which is a valid concern. However, this store carries everything else already, so building a Super Center would seemingly increase competition only among grocery stores. I can't find whole nutmeg anywhere, including at Wal-Mart. This store has a nice, large parking lot. The store is pretty well kept and I've been able to find everything I've needed so far. read more

The customer service on the floor is awful! Not just they are not around but the ones that are, are only focused on stalking items, playing on their phone, or chatting with each other (non-work related).They ignored customers, yes, ignored! I ordered pictures on line from a wedding. I was charged 12.00 just to ship Paper pictures!!!!! I couldn't do store pick up because they were glossy. When they came, they are terrible, very dull and color faded. My daughter ordered some for herself and they were fine. I have called my store in Fairlawn Ohio over 7 times with no answer on the phone!!!!! I guess I have to go to the store which was the point of ordering on line, to save the trip. I spent over 33.00 for terrible pictures. Don't order pictures or try to call a store!!! So disappointed as I have been a Walmart customer for MANY MANY YEARS. read more

I bought an item and upon taking it home and opening the package and discovered it was completely unusable broken dirty and missing parts as well as directions I called today several times to see what we can do about it and was hung up on every time not one time was a transferred successfully to speak to a customer service agent I'm a good customer I don't appreciate being treated like this I will give the store bad reviews every chance I get I will never shop at the store again and I will never seek any type of customer service from this Walmart again because it's impossible to assume that they are going to help in the future. read more

I checked out at register 16 on Monday, August 18th 2015 at 6:21 PM. The cashier started checking out the next customer and bagging their items while I was still trying to grab my bags. I got home 15 minutes later and realized that I didnt obtain one of the bags. I drove back to Walmart, spent an hour total waiting at the customer service desk. The items that I PAID for were given to another customer. The assistant manager, dark skin man with a taboggan and facial hair, told me that I took the items. I believe he thought since I took bags, I took them all. I was humiliated. It was only about $12 worth of items. This is the absolute worst shopping experience of my life. Something has to be done. I will submit reviews on every website possible about my horrible experience until I am contacted with a sincere apology and promise that something was done about the situations.I still do not have the items or the money, it has been over 2 days. read more

Came into town looking for a place to get groceries and supplies during our weeklong stay. Expected a full, large selection Walmart. This is definitely not what we want or needed. Wal Mart is trying to covertly and underhandedly replace as many employees as it can with machines, all in the name of so-called customer efficiency. Wal Mart has been reducing the cashier-manned lanes in favor of self-checkout for well over a year now. The only thing that this does it steal much-needed jobs from actual people and Wal Mart stays wealthy by deceiving people into performing free labor. Customers are manipulated into doing the work of a now unemployed cashier, supposedly to save their time when in reality the only thing that is saved is Wal Mart's bottom line. I believe that it should be every customer's choice whether to utilize the self-checkout lane and not be forced or goaded to because they don't have the time to wait. If a customer prefers it that's great but it is altogether heinous for Wal Mart to "coerce" and trick customers into using the self-checkout lanes by having only one cashier lane open. I have seen this happen morning, noon, and night. Instead of assigning the employee to open a cashier lane, they assign them to stand there and direct customers to the self-checkout lanes. Wal Mart does this even during busy holiday times. I used to spend thousands in Wal Mart with four children's birthdays and holidays, but after I saw their underhanded, greedy, and despicable behavior, I only enter the store for an item that I desperately need. I gladly pay $20 more elsewhere rather than be complicit to their inconsiderate and uncaring treatment of employees and customers. There used to be at least 4-5 cashier lanes open, now there is one, with at least 8 self-checkout lanes. They work that one poor cashier to death trying to avoid paying 4 more. Most times at night there isn't even one cashier. The really large and lazy manager Hunter refuses to walk a foot to man a register or assign a cashier to a register even though there is a long line and no cashier lanes are open. They really expect people to ring out a whole basket of items on a little self-checkout area. After Hunter so arrogantly refused to assign one cashier to a register, I left my cart and reported this to Walmart.com. They didn't even bother to call back or act as if it was a problem to them. Well I guess it isn't to them when their eyes see only dollar signs rather than people. I really hope that people see that if they follow Wal Mart's directive and use these lanes, they are only hurting deserving people and the economy. The poor will get poorer and Wal Mart will get richer. I boycott them 99.5% of the time and NEVER use the self-checkout lanes. Today, as you can see in the picture, so did at least 12 customers waiting in a line that extended nearly to electronics. Only one chose to use self checkout, which was his right, but a big thank you to all the rest who waited that extra 10 minutes and stood up for the rights of employees. Do not purchase gifts cards from here! I purchased a large sum visa gift card as a wedding gift for my daughter. She attempted to activate it and was unsuccessful. Fortunately I saved the receipt and she was able to obtain cash from the store. This should have never happened. It was a huge inconvenience for my daughter and I cannot imagine if the money would have been recovered if I would not have saved the receipt. Lessen learned. On a positive note The employees were extremely helpful in assisting her in recovering the funds. This is obviously a system problem. read more

I know there are not many of these places left, but this is a small, no grocery Wal-Mart. They never expanded to Super Wal-Mart because residents fought back and won. So this is the Wal-Mart that Fairlawn is left with. Besides, you have Giant Eagle, Acme, & Aldi within a half mile for groceries, AND a Sam's Club adjacent. This is my go-to location for cat food/litter and toiletries, I can't lie. I enjoy browsing their clothes and sometimes pick up a snack. I feel they could be better stocked; I've seen items not stocked for a week before getting re-stocked and of course it's always kinda hard to get an employee's attention in Wal-Mart but I try to avoid that situation entirely anyways. Some of the employees actually seem super enthused to work here which is great. Overall this place is OK as far as Wal-Marts go! read more

THIS IS NOT IT! If you are staying in the area and looking for a Super-Walmart, this is not it! I repeat, this is not it! If you are of a certain age (old), this is the Walmart of your youth but maybe worse. It is small, crowded, dark and unfortunate. If the foundation was lower, it would be a dungeon. Since it is much smaller than the newer stores, it has limited supplies. However, if your needs are simple you will be fine. They do have a grocery section but it is limited primarily to processed and packaged foods. If you want it fresh, you will have to visit the Giant Eagle located just across the parking lot. I visited this store several years ago and frankly I am amazed to see it still standing. At the very least, I found myself questioning the lack of serious renovations. Regardless of the aesthetics, I was able to purchase emergency supplies and exit in a timely manner. *** Look on the bright side: The line probably moves fast because people are dying to get out! read more

This Walmart pretty much sucks! The isles are small, it's always pretty crowded and the lines are always long to checkout. The service is also pretty slow. I try to avoid going there if it's not a necessity. They do try and keep it clean and the shelves stocked well, so I don't feel it deserves 1 star but come on Fairlawn build a Supercenter or move into a bigger building. I was thinking about purchasing a pair of sweat pants and I wanted to try them on. I went to the dressing room location and asked the attendant what is the process to try on clothing items. She acted like it was a bother to respond to me and gave me a dirty look and pointed to a dressing stall. After her reaction, I declined to purchase the items that I originally came to buy. I am 31 weeks pregnant and thus, extremely cautious about where I go. I am, by nature, not a Walmart shopper, but needed to look for one item I saw they had. I used the restroom upon entering the store and it was hands down the nastiest experience of my life. I was full blown gagging by the time I walked out. Once I gained my composure, I mentioned it to an employee who said, "Oh you need to tell her" I said, "No, I am telling you, what you do with this information after I give it to you is up to you I suppose." Then walking through the store, I counted 4 employees with their mask around their neck. Meanwhile, Covid is increasing rapidly around the world as we speak, but you have grotesque restrooms, which isn't shocking because you also have employees who dont bother to wear a mask. I will not be back, Target didnt seem to have this issue when I went there after leaving, once I saw yet another employee sans mask. read more
