This Walmart is unlike all the other ones. It's not as crowded and it's easy to find all the items. The people there are friendly and they are eager to help the customers. I recommend it to all shoppers. read more

This will be the first review I have ever posted for anything. This walmart should be so pleased. I wanted to get my car serviced over at the tire and lube department today 3/28/14. I had arrived there a little before 9:30 am. Its a saturday...my weekend off. I needed new tires and surprisingly the day before I was having trouble turning the wheel of my car so I needed power steering fluid. For weeks I was shopping around for tires n found the best deal at walmart. The next mission was finding a walmart nearest by me (I live in hillside) that had a tire service department. Edison was the closest. So I called the tire and lube department a week a head to make sure if I needed an appointment. I called and it rang, and rang, and rang some more...someone picked up.. Didnt say a word and hung up. I called back again, same thing but this time it just rang. So I figured let me call the regular walmart department which is customer service. I called and spoke with a lady. I told her I had called twice to that department and no one picked up. So she transfered me over anyway assuming this time someone will...and they didn't. I called customer service again, spoke to the same lady, and now I had asked to speak to a manager. I guess she transfered me to somewhere which the line still had rang and rang.. so I let it ring. I got a different person this time. I told her the whole story, she transfered me anyway back to the tire and lube department where still no one had picked up. The line must've went back to her and the same lady picked up and said "no one is answering?" ummm...yea obviously. So I told her all I wanted to know is if I need an appointment, thats all. So she put me hold, not even a minute later she got back to me with an answer "no u do not need an appointment." So I guess I should've known by that incident that I was gonna have a problem there... But u know it was a monday, very early in the morning. I gave them the benefit of the doubt. A few days later I had a friend of mine call over there to the tire and lube department to double check for me if I needed an appointment. He spoke with someone and they told him that they were open 7 days a week and that you did not need an appointment however, to bring the car before 2 p.m. So here I am, it's Saturday, it's a little before 930. I walk in I'm standing there in front of one of the Associates at the lube and tire department. I told him I'm here to get my car serviced and he responded, "we're not servicing today, but tomorrow we are." I swear I think a bomb exploded in my head at this point. I felt secure and reassured that everything was gonna go smooth today. I pretty much had my day planned out. I was gonna get my car serviced, I was gonna go shopping in walmart while the car was being fixed n then leave as a well satisfied customer. So I just stood their for a sec as all of this is going through my head, n the look on the guys face was pretty much like he didn't care. The first words that could come out of my mouth was, "I drove all the way from hillside." He still didn't care. So I just turned around n started to walk away...but then I thought no, let me speak to ur manager. His response was "he's not here. He doesn't come in till 10. I looked down at my phone...930. I was just so mad I swear if I could just hit the guy and get away with it, it would really make up for my morning. So I just left. I couldn't bare to see the sight of this mans face anymore let alone wait around breathing the same air as him. So I drove back to hillside. Found the nearest STS by me, the guys there were very helpful, gave me a good price for everything and my car is being serviced as im writing this very long review which btw im so sorry if you are still reading this. I love reading peoples input on this as an average customer. I hate to be the bitchy person who immediately complains about every little thing and calls over a supervisor or manager to fix it and then walks away with something. That's definitely not me! I try really hard to keep a clear state of mind especially when im under these circumstances. But you know, I didn't get what I wanted today. Hell, I still have to go to walmart to do my shopping, but this time it'll be the one near me (kearny)...lol. So yea, I vented...let u guys know how shitty of a day I'm having, and how customer service is at this particular walmart. Thanks.... oh n that star rating I had to give, it's because I HAD TO! A few week ago I went and bought a slow cooker there. Found out a user manual and clamp were missing after I brought it home. Brought it back and mentioned it to the manager. He nonchalantly told me to go and exchange it with another one. Except there was not another one. Got my money back and left. Don't ever call and ask if they have a certain item , they put you on hold forever and then they never come back. Plan on an hour and you won't get an answer. Horrible, horrible customer service.!! Also, do not go on Sat or Sun, the register lines are unbelievably long!! They do not have enough cashiers!!! I had to mwait on line for 40 minutes to pay for three items!! I was at the Walmart Edison Nj, I was picking up my medicine and the pharmacist the so called Manager on his tag was not only rude to me, but also to the cashier. Also, he gave me the medicine of someone else, Ms. ** (and my name is Wanda **), whom I had the pleasure of calling to let her know that I picked up and paid for her medicine. I then called Walmart and spoke to the pharmacist and he was not concerned at all, nor did tell me to bring back the medicine; and lucky for me, I always read my bottle before taking it. Since no one seems to care that this can happen to others, like elderly people, I will be sending this letter to BBB's complaint office, Facebook, and Twitter. Someone had to care somewhere. Then I walked down another aisle and there was a 95-year old woman. When she dropped two items near where two employees were standing there talking, you think that they would have bent over to pick the items up, instead, they watched her. She tried to pick them up herself; another gentleman walked in front of me to assist this 95-year woman. For Real Walmart, For Real. The Pharmacist Manager do not have courtesy to speak and has Indian accent but he is nastiest rudest person seen ever. POOR, POOR, POOR SERVICE! ! ! In-store, online and by phone. Everytime I enter the Edison Wallmart there is never anyone in the electronics dept. This has been going on long before the holiday season began. Management of checkout lines is outrageous - you cannot have checkout lines (meaning 2) wraped around the isles of the store while plenty employees are on the floor bulls'ng. This store is very expensive compared to other walmarts elsewhere. I thought all walmarts price their items all the same, I learned that this is not correct. I bought my son suspenders in Dover, DE priced at $6.49. When I saw my son in Edison, he said he bought one already from the walmart there in Edison and told me that he paid $9.49 for it. And that's just one item for which I can testify that they jack up the price of their goods more than the other stores. I paid some ridiculous price for simple items like dish rack and drainer and trash bins for example. Not only that, their cashiers knowingly ring up items twice for the same item. I didn't see this until I went over my receipt to show my husband about the dish rack/drainer price to compare with the ones we bought for our daughter in Phlly. I saw that I was charged twice for a screwdriver and for a jar of mayonnaise. I think they are purposely ripping off their customers. I will not buy anything from this store ever again. They are listed as having a Tire & Lube... I called the number numerous times and they don't answer the phone. I called the store and was advised they go out to lunch. Call at 1pm... I did... and also for the rest of the afternoon. I called back the store also and nobody answers their phone either... finally... someone picked up, and when I asked for a supervisor I was left on hold for 40 minutes until I hung up. I just tried calling again all day and nobody is answering their phone. I drove by and there is no Tire & Lube at this store... Today I also tried to reach the Piscataway WalMart.. of course no answer... The store is really lousy... and when I am in the store I can't get help either, and I can not understand anyone that works there... what they are saying.... They know nothing as well. I asked for help with an item and I was told. "I don't know".. and that was it!!! what a joke. That's why I shop at Target!! I just wanted tires for my car. Hello Yelp People :) June 21,2015, I just got 5 tires mounted and balanced at Edison Walmart and all turned out good except one tricky thing that you should know (related to tire places in general, not just Walmart), namely... If you are getting tires mounted at Walmart or other places, then you probably should bring your own valve stems. Why? Because... like other vendors now days, Walmart Tire may not carry your valve stem size. So CALL before you go and make sure they have right length valve stem for your car. If not, bring your own valve stems. A valve stem that is too long for your car will be exposed to getting hit if you accidentally park against a curb, and in the winter the valve stem will be exposed to getting hit against deep frozen snow and ice. To get the valve stem length you need, you can go to the Pep Boys that is 1.3 miles away. Here is a link with directions: http://tinyurl.com/DirFromEdisionWalmartToPepBoys .... Pep Boys has various length valve stems. By the way, Pep Boys tire installation department is somewhat the same. Pep Boy's tire installation only offers a limited valve stem size. And Pep Boys will make you pay for another size from their store shelves if your size does not match what their tire service offers (go figure!). Overall I saved a lot money by using Walmart Tire. Thank you Walmart :) By the way, the Walmart Tire people were all very polite and a pleasure to do business with. Also, the store was nice and quiet, and not crowded. Note that you can only exit Walmart from Vineyard Rd., not RT 27, which is only an entrance. Google maps was notified to make correction. read more
