I challenge anyone to tell me where else in NJ can you find a Rite Aid that sells alcohol products - wine, beers, AND spirits (!!). Any takers? I believe this may be the only one, or at least it's the only one that I encountered. I was impressed by the abundance of alcohol options. However there were tons of boxes in aisles throughout the store at the time if my visit. No bueno. read more

Obviously difficult since rite aid filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy, but if you can't afford to stock your shelves then shut the store down. Nothing in the men's grooming section and the grocery aisle is entirely barren. Sad. read more

I called the pharmacy and spoke with a young customer rep. I asked her if they carried a specific medication, she said, no we dont and we dont think we will order it, we just dont have it. I said would you be able to order it for another day and she I dont know, I dont think so, you could call around to see if anyone has it. I have not had this type of service before. Very out of place. read more

Went there to get a flu shot on 11/3/22... There was a wait since I got there earlier for my appointment. Main reason is I was coming back from another part of NJ earlier... Only disagreement I have is the pharmacy not answering the phones... This happens at a lot of the stores though. read more

there's been many incidents where this tall old man that works here follows people around and just stands and stares at the end of the aisle. today was a different thing though, since I walked in the store and found my friend he was following her around the minute she got there and proceeded to stare at the both of us which I noticed was strange and so when my friend noticed, she was staring back at him and said "why is he just standing there looking at us" and so I guess he thought this was "suspicious" and grabbed all her items out her hands and told her if she didn't like it she can leave. All we came in for was air freshener and hair products and the fact that he targeted my friend is baffling since there was a huge group of middle schoolers that most likely have no job and are potentially stealing but he wants to target the only girl that has curly hair right when she walked in, not to mention that we're high schoolers with jobs so there's no need to assume we weren't going to pay. I myself have had this man follow me around aisles and staring at me while I shop, it's very unsettling since I'm mainly there for a snack or because I ran out of something. Someone needs to get this man in check because following teenage girls around assuming they're stealing is outrageous. (most the other staff are fine tho) read more

This place is close to campus to pick up something for a project last minute. Also it sells alcohol, which in my home town does not. So that's the best perk! The place is clean, staff was cheerful, and assisted in anyway that they could. Will definitely be stopping by for some wine. read more

I have been going to this Rite Aid since I moved to Highland Park. I see all the positive reviews are because they carry liquor. This store and pharmacy is the worst for customer service of any retail business I have ever encountered in any state I have lived. They are curt with customers and they have incredible turnover of staff. They have an inadequate number of staff at the registers. There are 2 registers at the pharmacy window and rarely use both. They don't follow customer preferences that they have on-file for you. AND they over-charged me $391.42, on a prescription which is out of pocket. It would be nice if they were at least courteous. I notice all the positive reviews readily appear however the negative reviews require another click where it says the reviews are not recommended. So does Rite Aid control this review web page? I hate this place. The pharmacists never answer the phone so if you do manage to get your prescription transferred in and you wanna transfer it out you're gonna have to go in person. Instead of saying they didn't know how to use the computer in the pharmacy to check for my prescription an employee told me my prescription had not been transferred which led to a three hour long goose chase which ended when they found out it had been transferred and the previous person wasn't trained on the pharmacy computer system. I'd rather drive 3 miles to CVS than ever send a prescription to riteaid again. read more

Plusses: They have a large parking lot and sell a decent booze selection. Minuses: The cashiers are extremely rude and prices are high on pharmacy products. Bottom line is that this is great if you're in the area, and desperately need something. Otherwise I wouldn't bother. read more

The entire staff let me stand at the photo kiosk for over half an hour instead of just loading the paper . I asked three different people multiple times for help only to be ignored . It's really bad customer service if you ask me . I stood here for 30 minutes after the photo kiosk displayed an error message only to be told a manager has to look at it . Hey rite aid if you can't handle having a photo kiosk then don't have one . Unbelievably frustrating experience . read more

Ever play hide-in-seek in a store? Ever find yourself purchasing items so unrelated you half convince yourself it's part of a scavenger hunt? This Ride Aid is the mecca of wasteful shopping in Highland Park, and I absolutely love it. It's got everything under the sun, including the best liquor selection in town, some 14 aisles of cosmetics, and a newly added giant parking lot out back. Go ahead and get creative with your shopping -- I'm sure they carry it. read more

I was always so jealous of my NY buddies who can go into most drugstores and buy a six pack, because over here in Jerz, we have to go to the liquor store and it must be before 10 o'clock. This Rite Aid still shuts it down at 22:00 hrs, but it's a full liquor store too! Amazing. They have a sick selection of booze and U.S. and imported wine. Everything else is..Rite Aid. I did notice there was a bunch of deals to cash in on with your Wellness+ card, so many that I decided to get one myself. And I hate signing up for crap. Its such a novelty that this Rite Aid liquor store is available, I'll probably end up coming here each time I need some pinot grigio, trash bags and mascara. read more

This Rite Aid is set up in a confusing way. Half the store has aisles going one way, and the other half they are going the other (perpendicular). The left half is mostly groceries, and about four aisles of alcohol (!), but there's other things there, too, such as greeting cards. Headphones. Gifts and seasonal items. Other stuff. On the right side is the rest of the store. Because of its strange layout, I always need to ask for what I'm looking for. The natural person to ask is the cashier in the front, because they are right next to the door and there isn't anyone else in sight when you walk in. But they never want to help and are so slow, you're better off walking into the store and hoping to run into someone. The cashier makes like they have to go show you where it is, and tells you to wait there while they finish with this checkout, or wastes time beckoning someone to come over. But really they could just point you in the right direction and say the aisle number. I don't think every cashier is like this, I kind of size them up and take a guess. They don't have enough notebook options and their paper is too expensive. Also their sales are sometimes confusing and the tags are put in the wrong place. read more

Typical Drugstore. They have liquor and beer. Not a knock on them, but they are one of the only places in Highland Park to get alcohol, and one of the few places around to get kosher wine. My only knock is that there is never enough registers open when I am there. read more

Full on liquor store as well as a friendly neighborhood rite aid! Why wouldn't it be 5 stars! The selection isn't bad for last minute anyway! read more

Eh this Rite Aid is okay. A +1 for them because they sell alcohol, a lot of different beers, wines, hard liquor and a huge parking lot! I definitely go here first before most liquor stores. Never enough registers open. The pharmacy staff is hit or miss. Some are really nice and some are so completely rude I don't know how they work somewhere that they have to deal with people. I understand that some people are hard to deal with but when I'm friendly and nice to them, I wish I'd get the same in return. read more

Can't remember last time I purchased beer at a drug store. I think I am hooked. No alcohol smell or those small bottles of old turkey for sale at every end cap. No now I can purchase beer for my husband along with my shampoo and skin conditioner, etc. Gotta love your local Rite Aid!!!! read more

Why do I always have issues with this pharmacy. Once they gave me a hard time about trying to purchase Alkalol, which is an over the counter nasal cleanser, because they wanted to make sure it didn't have ALCOHOL in it and had to ask the main pharmacist...who was nowhere to be found...even though I was showing them on Alkalol's website that it pure use was to clean out my mucus and would absolutely not get me drunk. Anyway, this review isn't about that. I have a prescription from my doctor for a brand name drug. First time I got it from Rite Aid, they slipped me a generic version of it. I told my doctor and she said "no, they absolutely have to give you the brand name because there are so many generics and they all vary in one way or another. So we can't monitor your reaction based on that". She upped my dose a bit and wrote on the prescription that I NEED to get the brand name of this drug. And let me tell you, I felt interrogated at this pharmacy. Aside from the fact that a few of them were having a very loud argument in the back about not being about to find some important papers among "this mess", when I handed in my prescription, the woman was like "the DOCTOR increased your dose?? Well I'm going to have to call her and check" so I told her to go ahead and call. And then she told me that my medication wouldn't even be available until next Thursday (at the time it was Friday), so almost a week later. So I went to Saiff Drugs across the street, and had a much better experience and they had my medication stocked. So I'm going there from now on and supporting a local business instead of a franchise that gives me the wrong drugs. read more

The pharmacist on duty today, Amit, i believe, is completely lacking in competency and professionalism. The company would be best served relieving him of his duties. I will not return to this location due to his gross negligence (he sent my controlled rx to the wrong address!! Twice!!!!!!) read more

This review is for the pharmacy. The store itself is of much higher quality. I filled my sister's prescriptions at this pharmacy for over 5 years. As my sister became sicker and sicker, she obviously required more medication. To say the pharmacists were disappointing is an understatement. I will never forget the way Binal sent me on an impossible quest to fill a medication she ultimately couldn't fill due to their incompetency as a unit. If you are otherwise healthy with simple medications, maybe you'll be fine. But beware if you require more! I hope no one else is ever placed in the horrible position these pharmacists put me in. Shame on them! read more

I love the characters that work in this place and in what other Rite Aid can you buy alcohol at 10pm? I'm definitely a fan!

They carry a lot of stuff but some of the cashiers are very rude and management does't do anything.

Just wanted to write a quick review with SINCERE THANKS for the cashier & store manager who found & held my Samsung Tablet for me. This was very honest & I really appreciate their concern for my important tablet which i often use. Many people in other places woukd have "pocketed" this device, but not here. In addition, this store is clean, well organized & has a liquor license which is a plus. Thanks again! read more

Overall it's a decent store but I've noticed a pattern that every time I go to check out, cashiers give me a hard time about what I'm buying or make a comment. First they gave me a hard time about buying cigarettes, then alcohol, which I understand since you need to be IDed for that. Then, the cashier gave me a hard time about buying a key chain. Sometimes it feels a little personalized to me. Cashier is always friendly to the male customers but for some reason doesn't seem to like the female customers... read more

Very disappointed. My wife and I were gathering up several purchases and I decided that I needed to use the restroom. I approached the pharmacy desk on Thursday, March 21st around 3 PM and asked where the restrooms were. I was answered by the rudest pharmacist I've ever spoken to. She told me that the restrooms weren't working which I'm sure was a lie. Thank you, Ms. Pharmacist, for treating a customer like an animal. I left all my purchases in the store and left. I'll NEVER return to this location again. It's too bad. The other staff in the store seemed fine. Maybe RiteAid should hire pharmacists and have them trained by their liquor associates. Very shameful. I'm sticking with CVS. read more

half the store is booze!!! they have a quite good selection of imported wines and of liquor, including Moldovan and Georgian wine, Latvian Rīgas Black balzams liquor, all sorts of things to discover... the rest of the store is pretty nice too, a decent sized Rite Aid with all kinds of random items you might need.. I love the little chocolate covered cherries on display at the register, I buy one every time I stop by.. read more
