My biggest complaint yesterday was that the up escalator was out of service as was the elevator. I don't have a mobility issue but thought it was terrible for anyone who did. First time shopping at Boscov's while I was visiting family in New Jersey. I live in Florida and we do not have Boscov's down there but as I said I was in town and decided to do a little shopping. My husband needed some jeans and we found great deals on their brand. He loved the way they fit, and the pricing was fabulous so we could not pass it up. I did not get time to shop the whole store, but I did manage to buy myself a wallet on the way out. They do have a great selection, and the prices seemed very reasonable. One of the best experiences I have had with a retailer and a long time. I ordered an air conditioner. They had a good price, it came in and during shipment it was damaged. I called. Customer service got through immediately very pleasant person who handled the problem and the item was picked up and delivered back to Bosco Quickly and easily. the credit was done as soon as it hit their dock. I then called customer service again and ordered the same item. They honored the sale price without any issue. Getting through to them was easy dealing with them was easy. A nice department store at Woodbridge Center. It isn't limited to cheaper "no-name" brands (what I really like is that they have Calvin Klein and Anne Klein), but at the same time has some no frills basic options, depending on what you're looking to buy. The really good news is that none of the items' prices break the bank too badly, even if you don't have a coupon. Since it's a department store, they carry everything from clothing to home goods and even candy. And when I say candy, I mean fudge you can buy from behind the counter by the pound. It isn't the best tasting fudge, but I find it charming that they sell the per pound candy in addition to the normal department store items. Whenever I think of Boscov's, I immediately think of fudge. Not a bad association...they might be onto something with that. You'll want to shop at off-peak hours because it can get crowded and the check outs are somewhat hit or miss. A lot of times you'll either be waiting in a long line or unable to find an open check out. Today I was hoping to check out in the juniors department but the cashier was talking to a customer (unfortunately, in this instance, she was shooting the breeze and not helping the customer find something). Ah, but I balance that with the fact that she brought over a hanger to my mom in the dressing room that we wanted for something we were buying. Definitely a store that found a good home at this mall. I love exploring new places. Since I've never heard of this place, I decided to check it out. When I walked in, I was surprised by the prices. Basic camisoles, tanks, yoga pants, etc were between $4.99 to $9.99! Dresses were $9.99 or 50% off retail price! Swimwear ranged from $12.99 to $19.99. There was also a clearance section where swimwear was only $2.99! I picked out a few things and went to checkout. I happen to come in on the day where all Juniors clothes were additional 20% off! The cashier deducted 20% off of each item I got from the Juniors department. She also recommended going back to get more things to take advantage of the daily deal. Of course, I had to! I wanted to get everything because all the clothes were reasonably priced and plus 20% off! I resisted and only picked up a couple more dresses. Boscov's is similar to JC Penny, Sears, etc with a variety of departments (i.e., clothing, jewelry, shoes, optical, makeup, perfume, outdoor, kitchen, bath, gardening, etc). There are two levels here, so you can definitely spend the entire day here! Like other reviewers mentioned, it was difficult to find a cashier to pay. There are many registers scattered throughout the store, but only limited ones actually open. Overall, this is a great store to pick up some fantastic deals! I like the home goods section of the store, especially during the holidays as they have a very good variety of decorations. But good luck finding a register that's open! It's like a treasure hunt trying to find where they're hidden in the store. Then the cashier's work at about the same speed and level of enthusiasm as the robots in a Disney ride. These guys need to do like many other stores, and set their registers in one location on the floor, and then use the bank teller line system. And for heaven's sake - hire some more help! read more

The store is a little cluttered, but I can live with that. The prices are moderate. I was there on a Saturday afternoon, and no big line at the cashier. The only criticism I would make is that some of the clothes are dowdy, or not very stylish. A lot of middle aged women were shopping, and many were buying at Boscov's. As a customer at Boscovs, I like shopping there. The customers wear masks, and the employees work masks too. Boscovs follows the social distancing rules, and they have a plexiglass between you and the employee. If you forget your mask, Boscovs will supply one for you for a dollar, and that money goes to help the first aid. The sales are always good, and you can always find what you are looking for. There are always associates, and managers on the floor to assist you with your purchases and to answer any of your questions. The employees and managers are very pleasant, and friendly. Would have been 3.5 stars... The Good: Numerous great deals on a lot of items, and there's a lot of cash registers. The cashiers behind them were not slow at all, and the lines kept on moving. The cashiers I went to seemed nice. All of this is a lot better than Sears. The Bad: This store isn't as big as the one in Ocean County Mall, and I noticed that this store didn't carry certain items that the one in Ocean County would. I also noticed that some employees didn't know where exactly a certain item was (particularly in clothing), therefore I had to ask a number of them until I found exactly what I needed. Overall: With the amount of competitiveness that I noticed here, this store has A LOT of potential to succeed, and I think it will. The employees are also new too, which could explain why some of them didn't know where a certain item was, but they'll probably know where everything is soon. On November 21, I received an email about purchasing gift cards and receiving 15% off for one day only. I went online and entered an order for 5 ($50) gift cards, put in all my credit card, and shipping information. Next, I hit the "Review Order" button and nothing happened. I tried three more times to no avail. Now frustrated, I called the customer service number and was on hold for 30 minutes. After that time, I pressed (1) to receive a calla back when a customer service agent was available. Of course, I received said call back on Sunday November 22, explained the situation to the agent, was told they had an issue yesterday with over a 4 hour wait time, was put on hold, and when the agent returned, I was told they would not honor that sale for me. 10/23/14 - in at 12:35 pm - not out until 1:20 pm Took an item to customer service to be wrapped. There was 1 person ahead of me waiting for the same thing. She turned to me and "mouthed" I've been here for 25 minutes and she hasn't begun to wrap. Eventually, she did begin and 15 minutes later finished. In the interim, she answered the phone at least 5 times. Now it was my turn. I asked her to put the 2 items I purchased into one box with the gift receipts in the box. She looked at my like I had 2 heads, but finally figured out what I wanted. She tore off the paper I (WHAT SHE WASTED COULD HAVE WRAPPED 2 MORE PKGS). She didn't cut the paper down to size; used it folded over on both ends and them realized it was too short. She undid all this, turned the paper (not the box) and began again. The box was upside down in the paper. I ignored it; she never would have understood. And, in the meantime, 3 more people were waiting for wrapping. She put the bow in the MIDDLE of the pkg, not the corner, as requested. I had had enough; took it as it was and came home, unwrapped it, and made it right. Apparently, she has not been instructed on the "fine art" of pkg wrapping. Again, she had to stop to answer phones. When I walked away, I told the people waiting that they should order dinner. I won't use this service again and feel sorry for your customers, if they encounter this employee at Christmas and Chanukah. read more

I had a horrible experience at Woodbridge Center Boscovs. We went to the furniture department in hopes to find the perfect sectional for our home. We informed the sales rep that we had standard doorways and our current couch was a little over 7 feet on length. We picked out the Springfield sectional which we loved and the sales rep said "this will fit through the standard doorway and it comes in pieces. " We purchased this sectional with the warranty and stain protection. After taking off of work and waiting around .... the men refused to take it off the truck stating , "It will not fit. I can tell by looking at it." Unfortunately, we put our old furniture outside which was ruined by the rain. The manager and sales reps at the store tried to tell us we lost the warranty and will have to pay to get something else delivered. After going back and forth for two weeks we finally got the ok we will be reimbursed 100%! We still have no furniture in our home because the new sectional we picked out is on back order! Don't get furniture from here!!! THEY GAVE US 100 dollar compensation. BIG DEAL! UPDATE: Jan 8- we went back to Boscov's to order the Portland and they said we don't get the $100 credit OR the $100 for opening the credit card until AFTER the furniture is delivered. Well another day waiting around AND they delivered the wrong chase. read more

I like boscovs. They carry a lot of the brands I like and for cheaper. I also don't like that when you go there, it seems like a mission to find a cashier to ring you up. I also don't like that they don't have coupons. I'm a big couponer. I know they have sales (typically better sales than other places sometimes). This is the first time ever that I visited a Boscov's. Cluttered is my first reaction. Almost every square inch of floor space in the men's apparel department is utilized to sell product. However, the department is well organized and shelves are well stocked. Too, care is given to the department; it does not have the appearance of being ransacked by thoughtless customers as some competitors' men's departments do. I found exactly what I sought and the items were appropriately priced. I dislike shopping at stores where merchandise has an "original" price but then sells the item(s) at exactly the same price as competitors. At least in the Woodbridge Boscov's merchandise was "on sale" without insulting my intelligence with an "original" price. My least favorite part of my Boscov's experience is check out. As per other such stores the registers are underutilized and understaffed and one minor hiccup to the system causes paralysis. I contributed to the paralysis today by requesting that my $19.98 purchase not be bagged (crazy, right?) that the receipt would suffice to verify the authenticity of the purchase. It was as if I asked the clerk to borrow her car to run errands. The associate was unpleasant to begin with and she turned apoplectic at my request. She insisted that I bag the items (which I refused) so her nonsensical response was to attempt to notify security - as if I needed to be escorted from the store. I took my unbagged shorts and headed to the exit. Regardless of store policy I am unwilling to contribute to the 8 million metric tons of plastic thrown into the ocean annually. read more
